Not a reveal but an ode to this much maligned colour.

In the neutral world, black is always with us, navy seems to have shaken off its conservative rep, grey is thought of as an edgy neutral rather than the terrible blah image it had and tan has always escaped criticism. I'm not talking about beige, caramel, tan or even cognac, those colours I like too but they have a casual edge that has helped them stay hip. Taupe for a long time seemed to have taken over as the alternative to black. BV and Gucci used to have brown as their signature colour but o longer, only in the LV world is brown a staple. Let's give a welcoming warm hand to the reintroduction of real dark brown bags into our wardrobe.

I have always liked brown, be it cool ebony or warm chocolate. This year I'm feeling brown more than ever. Not many women's bags are made in brown anymore but I'm seeing 'sold out' signs under the browns in NAP and other sites this season, must be a thing in the air.

Are you a fan too? Please show me your best brown bags.

First I'll show you some of mine:

I do have LV, which we have all seen plenty of, so I won't post them here, LOL. But I do agree that brown has been neglected with other designers for quite a few years, and it really is a favorite of mine. I guess that's why I do have the LV canvas bags. I was very excited to see this color Longchamp Le Pliage Neo and grabbed it! I would also like to see them bring back this color in the Cuir. It is a very pretty chocolate color.

Wow, that's a gorgeous LP, ITA a Cuir would be unbelievable and your Brahmin mimics the shades of Hornback croc, makes perfect sense.

I have a few brown bags. These are all Coach. The first is from the 1960s, 2nd 1990, 3rd 2006, 4th 2008, 5th 2012.

Oooooh, such a timely post... just the other day I was pondering this with friends as I bought a vintage brown Chanel and opinions were divided... Who remembers the late 90s, when chocolate was the new black? Gray was out for years! Tom Ford’s Gucci was all dark chocolate, I had a Gucci tote and a wallet... a Cocinelle camera bag, a Prada brown bowling bag...
It is in the air, brown is pushing back, hopefully to stay.
In the meantime and before everybody catches up the pre-loved market is a treasure trove for lovers of brown, as bags in this color automatically carry a lower price tags, the poor ugly ducklings waiting to be turned into swans!

Debating keeping this beauty (bc of weight alone and I’m still not 100%) but the dark caramel is what drew me to her and finding a chocolate suede lining inside was even sweeter.

I love the second Coach, it's so beautiful in its simplicity. I had a similar brown Mulberry (Trout bag?) that I very much regret selling. Even more so now after seeing all the pics in this thread. But before tPF, I didn't know bags could be so easily resuscitated, and it didn't even have much wear. I'll see if I can find a pic.

I own 4 brown bags.
Plus a tricolor with brown panels.

Most are oak tone. But couple are darker.
Need a few browns, to occupy the patina elves.
They match birkenstock sandals/clogs.
Plus add zing to black shirt/coat/shoes I find in mirror some days.

Tend to stick with simple styles.
Brown becomes very dated, with lots of trills & frills in design, imo.
