Hermes spa pricing

Ok, so I was going to post before and after pictures of my Kelly today that has been to the spa. Picked her up from my local H boutique on Friday, after handing her over four months ago. One of the repairs I signed off on was ”stitching 2 top gussets”. The after sales lady said this was two stitches on the side of the bag, which I thought was strange but thought that she propably knew what she was talking about. When I take out the bag today, I realize that there are two stitches missing on the flap on top of the bag. AFTER repairs. :crybaby:

So this is what my Kelly looks like after coming back after four months. I have never even gotten back an unfinished repair from my local cobbler.

Taking her back to the boutique today. :crybaby:They did a good job with the cleaning and stitching the inside pocket, which however does not make up for the fact that all the repairs were not done.

Oh no! Mine is being repaired, and that's one of the things I checked off as well. Good luck and I'm so sorry...another several months without one of your babies! [emoji24]

I'm sorry but I don't think this unfinished. The gussets are the side panels with the new white stitching. These stitches are on the back of the flap so a different area altogether. I guess it depends on if they had listed flap restitching on your work order, if the flap is listed-then its a mistake but those stitches aren't the same as the gusset.

Ok, then I have missunderstod what the gussets are. Thank you so much for clearing that up for me! :flowers: But those white stitches are not new however, checked the whole bag. Thats why I thought they meant the back of the flap, since there are two stitches missing. They did not list the flap. No idea why, could it be because the leather is too brittle to restich? Does not look like the leather has dry rot, and they put in a couple of stitches on the inner pocket, but I am no expert in that area.

They just may not have seen the missing stitches, I have no doubt they will do their best with the bag. It's just unfortunate you have to send it out again. I would make sure the after care slip specifically notates the areas you would like addressed and make sure the quote comes back with the same info! Hopefully they can expedite it for you!

Just a quick update. My 32cm Gold Kelly was available for pickup after about a month and came back in really nice condition. My Kelly Indigo 35cm was available for pickup after about 4 months - the handles were torn and coming loose and Hermes special ordered the indigo replacement pieces from France. My experience is mixed. The 32cm Kelly in Gold was returned in really nice condition. However, My Kelly Indigo 35cm was returned with damage. Although they repaired the handles very nicely, in the process of repair or storage they damaged the toggle and returned it to me in loose and shaky condition. I called to complain and they denied having damaged my bag which led to a very intense (almost yelling) discussion. I wouldn't trust the Hermes in New York for repairs that take longer than a month, otherwise you might risk someone mishandling your very expensive handbag and causing additional damage. Just a warning.

Hello! I visited the Hermes location at Madison Avenue in New York City today (March 24, 2017) with my two vintage Hermes Kelly bags 32cm Gold w/GHW and 35cm Indigo w/GHW. The Gold Kelly had very worn edges and pen marks on the inside. My Indigo Kelly's handle was coming lose and was scuffed. For those of you who are apprehensive about going in to have your vintage handbag serviced, let me just say, this was my first visit to Hermes (EVER) - I went after work with my curly hair a hot mess from a woolly hat and my natural deodorant was failing me miserably and I was dressed very office casual - nothing fancy, and I had NO PROBLEMS. The repair services are located on the 3rd floor - so when you enter just go up the spiral staircase and when you arrive just ask for repair services. There is a small door at the very back of the floor which the SA will guide you to, she'll pop her head into the backroom and ask someone to assist you. A repair specialist will then escort you to a side table and ask to see the items. She will inspect them and begin filling out a form and she will ask you to point out any issues. As previously discussed here, I can confirm that they do not clean the inside of handbags...so the pen marks inside my 32cm Kelly will remain indefinitely! She never asked for a receipt nor did she ask me how I acquired the handbags...in fact she didn't seem to care about anything really other than getting my bags processed as quickly as possible. I would say the service was prompt and courteous but not overly friendly. She said the Kelly 32cm should be ready in several weeks - they will call me to confirm and the Kelly 35cm might take months - she was concerned they would have to special order leather replacement parts because the indigo color was seasonal- they will also call to confirm. At this point, I am just waiting for a follow-up phone call.

Here are some prices based on today's visit:
General cleaning and refurbishment - $330
Repair of Kelly 35cm handle - $640 (requires leather replacement and restitching)

Did they eventually agree to fix it?

Hi! Do you know if this price is fixed or depending on the bag condition / what you want to fix? Will they give a quote before you send the bag in? I just want to send it for maintenance cleaning. Thanks.
hey sorry for late reply. I guess it depends on what needs to be done. The price i paid was for general cleaning, touch up corners + polishing hardware. Best to bring your bag in for the SA to inspect and you will be quoted accordingly.

i may need to send one bag to H spa to remove some nail varnish at the bottom of the bag,
does anyone have a quote on this situation, is it the spa service for cleanign that i need or this is something they need to send bag to Paris.
I am in the UK.

On the bottom outside or inside? Outside the London craftspeople should be able to remove nail varnish locally unless you need to replace the whole leather piece. The places where the varnish is removed may need re-dyeing. Inside they cannot help with

It may be worth checking if the local crafts person is actually there though if you would like it done in London. I was told Claire is on holiday when I popped in on Tuesday so if I left anything it would currently be sent to Paris automatically.
