Heart Set on Pochette Metis

I'm headed to Paris and Rome at the end of May. I'm excited to visit LV and add my first crossbody purse to my collection. I had my heart set on bringing a Pochette Metis (either monogram or empreinte noir) home. After reading through tPF, I'm worried one may not be available. Can I call Champs-Elysees LV a few days before leaving and ask them to hold one if available? Would there be a better chance of finding it in Rome? Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

Usually the boutiques will reserve a bag for 3 days only I think.
