Does anyone know if the tab on this speedy left off the "Made in" part and just says Louis Vuitton Paris?

If it's made in the USA it won't have the "made in" stamp. The leather tab will just say Louis Vuitton. You will be able to tell if it is a made in USA bag if it has a cloth or possibly leather tag inside that states made in USA of imported materials.
Yes, the date code will also tell you where it's made. Easiest way is by looking for the tag inside though.
Date code is a little more complicated because you have to look at the list and see which are the two initials stand for. Everything is required to have a "made in" tag so it's in the bag somewhere.
