Hello!

Long time reader and occasional poster looking for advice.

I'm looking at a pre-loved Bayswater pouch in steel metallic leopard; there is some rubbing to the edges but nothing major and I would be happy with it as is.

I'm just wondering if the finish will lift or fade to a serious degree with use? Could anyone advise?

Many thanks!

Hi Scarlett,

The metallic leopard print collection came out in 2010. The design is made from foil printing stamped onto suede leather, there have been discussions in the past regarding the foil rubbing off:

I think it will depend on your use of the pouch. If you intend to use it as a hand held clutch just be wary of wearing handcream, which would definitely mark the leather. As a pouch within other bags I would expect rubbing to affect it fairly quickly. This particular finish came with a delicate care card.

Thanks so much for the advice and links Mooshoo!

Was planning to use it as a bag within a bag, so it's likely it will rub away. I just have to work out if that will bother me over time. You've given me lots to think about, thanks!
