Hi, probably this is a strange question. I have read that creams containing retinol should be kept refrigerated. Is this true? Where do you keep yours? Thanks!
My derm & facialist have always told me to keep my retinol in a "dark/cool place away from the sun" but I've never been told to refrigerate it. I don't believe refrigeration is necessary.
I use Neutrogena retinol night cream. The specific one is, Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream. It's package doesn't let light in. It's cheap and has a "best" BeautyPedia review.
I use the same as Staci, but I just got a prescription for Retin A & pick it up from the pharmacy today. I store mine at room temp. The packaging already blocks the sun, but a dark cool cupboard would be great!
Whatever retinal you choose should be in a tube, not a jar. Sunlight breaks it down.
I use an OTC brand (Verso brand) and never store them in the fridge. They come in a plastic container with a pump. The cream is actually vacuum-sealed in a bag inside the tube so it gets every last drop of it (not like the conventional packaging where the cream stay at the bottom)
As a pharmacy student, I would recommend you store it at room temperature around 75 F as it was formulated to be stable at room temperature until the date of expiration.
