Where to buy Dior in Chicago?

Unfortunately the Saks on Michigan Ave no longer carries Dior handbags 
Apparently there is no where to buy Dior handbags in Chicago!
For people who live in cities where Dior handbags are not sold, how do you go about buying a bag? I had wanted to buy either a Diorissimo or Be Dior this weekend, but alas, there is no where nearby for me to buy in person.
I am hesitant to just call up a boutique and order a bag I have never seen or touched. I am not sure how to decide between designs or colors (let alone size) without seeing the bags and feeling the weight in my hands. I am also worried about not getting a "prestine" bag,
Should I just wait until I am in a town where a boutique is located? I'll be in San Diego in February (not sure if Dior bags are sold there), but I don't have any trips to NYC planned soon. Any tips for ordering by phone? Any SA recommendations via PM would be appreciated as well...
