The many shades of Purple Nightingales. Color experts needed!

In my search for the perfect shade of purple, I have come across many shades on the Nightingale from the past few years. I have not been looking at the nightingale until recently, and many colors may have passed by my radar.

My ideal purple is a more lilac- light violet color.
The current Fall 2014 purple is lovely (not too dark) but ultimately I would love to find a lighter violet shade with GH.

In scouring the internet I have come across several pictures.

Does anyone recognize or remember this light Almost Lilac purple?
I found it on a Singapore website from this year but it is sold out.



I see so many variations in color sometimes for the same bag, based on lighting, and I am wondering if this really is as light as it looks.

I know there was a magenta-purple nightingale from 2012 (that I just missed on ebay!) very nice.

And the most common purple I see is the darker eggplant purple which I am not that fond of- or at least it is not what I am looking for.

Any color experts out there that can confirm the color names or add any more shades I might have missed?

I have two purple Gales from 2012 and 2013, they are that eggplant-ish purple (2012) and aubergine (2013).
I can't recognize the purple that you like either, maybe it's just lighting :thinking:

Thank you for the picture, Very helpful! Yes I am starting to think it could be lighting, it seems like it's closest to the aubergine color.

Oh, I recalled what is this "Darker eggplant", I saw it in a store, it was medium size purple in calf leather.
to figure out colors you need to link it to type of leather

- 2012 gales in lamb were in brighter Purple and darker Purple (no hardware on handles). but the color difference between these two can be due lighting only.
rare Gale in calf (with hardware on handles) was in the same Purple, but it looked different because of the leather
- 2013 gale in Aubergine in goat (hardware on handles) and in Electric blue (both in lamb and goat). blue is not really purple, rather blue-violet.

Do you think the GoldHW gale in the pics above is the rare purple from 2013? (the 2nd picture I posted). I don't see this more magenta shade very often and was curious about it.

This one is a bit confusing, it looks like lamb leather, but lamb is not supposed to have hardware on handles :thinking:

It IS gorgeous. I know how it feels, I tend to fall in love with some past season colors that I didn't buy for some reason and then I try to track them down like a crazy. But you never know, it can pop up on eBay or consignment store any time. just keep checking:smile:

Nice, I wish the pictures were bigger so I could get a better idea of the shade of purple. It does look slightly lighter than the Fall14 purple. Just realized the picture I posted in my original thread is actually SS14 purple ( the last picture) and not FW14 Purple. So this bag is likely the same as that gale.


**Revised to say when I opened the image in a new tab, it came out quite big




This always bothers me (problem with online shopping)
