Waterproofing leather boots?

I have these Frye leather boots and I plan to take wear them in the rain when the season comes.

I saw that Nordstrom has Frye waterproofing spray. Has anyone used this?
Or is there a better brand of waterproofing spray out there?

If they work really well on my Frye boots, I'll treat my Coach boots too.

Really nice boots! I use that spray with my Frye boots and it works fine. To be honest, I haven't used another brand, so I can't compare.

Thanks! I'll pick up the spray this week.

Is it easy to apply? Reviews said that it darkened the leather, but since mine is black, I don't see that being a problem.
