Great quality linen/cotton dresses

Since the weather has been pretty amazing and I barely have any summer clothes left after cleaning out my closet, I am looking for some new dresses. I only want to buy 100% cotton or linen, no synthetic fabrics as they make me sweat easily, especially in summer. Anyone here know some good brands? Preferably a UK/EU website. :flowers:

I like this blue dress from white company, I think it will go great with my tan leather rondini sandals! I think I will order it today. I looked at COS but don't really like their dresses atm, i'm really looking for a light dress and I know from COS most of their dresses are heavy if you know what i mean..

I like all the white company dresses. I find white company to be true to size but their jumpers etc are normally on the larger side (as I think their target demographic is mums) I would say that the size 8 might be too big for you but you could maybe email the company and ask for the measurements before ordering?

I know exactly what you mean about COS material being heavy. I've no idea why anyone would want a summer dress made of thick material. COS used to use lots of cotton/ linen etc but lately when I have looked at some of their clothes, they feel quite synthetic which is a shame because I used to buy lots of COS.

Just when I wanted to buy it it was sold out.. Ha, probably not meant to be!

Yeah I'm starting to dislike COS a bit more lately, only buy their white T's but am looking for replacements so probably going for another brand. The salesperson told my boyfriend that the mens section has more natural fibers such as wool, cotton, linen etc and women more synthetic fabrics... Too bad because I liked their quality/ price.

Oh no! What a shame. You could ring the company and they will tell you which stores stock it - you can then ring the store and get them to send it to you. I have done that several times with white company.

Very interesting about COS. I notice that a lot with womens clothes (that manufacturers tend to use synthetics more). I cannot understand that and wonder why women put up with it? I can only think that manufacturers think they can get away with synthetics more because women tend to buy more and wear less so the materials wont wear as much before the woman tires of the piece - whereas a man might buy and wear lots and for a long time so therefore demands better quality for the same price?

Probably the above is very stereotypical but I do wonder why manufacturers think they can get away with it with womens clothes?

Not sure what type of T shirts you like but I have found these t shirts to be really good quality. I just bought one in white and also have one in grey and black

I totally agree with this! I'm thinking the same too. I used to be the same and never thought about what's behind all those synthetic clothes until you see more in the news about how those clothing's are made and the effect it has on us and the world. Ladysarah did a post about fashion victims, posting a photo of two women and their shopping baskets filled with cheap Primark clothes. It looks awful and tacky really. I've never been that extreme with shopping, but I did buy clothes more easily back then without thinking about it twice.

I appreciate great quality clothes a lot more nowadays and am constantly looking for smaller companies who use 100% natural fabrics.

I just found this dress, which is handmade by the owner of the shop. It's easier to make wrinkle free clothes with synthetics. Sometimes it makes sense to go with a blend for an occasion outfit since otherwise, you sit down and when you get up for pics or what have you, your dress is super wrinkly. It's easier if the natural fabrics are thicker but that costs more so companies don't want to do that either.

But frankly I think synthetics are so prevalent now that some younger women don't even realize there's another option. They just think the piece is hot and not breathable because of the thickness or tightness of the clothing. I have a couple of friends who frequent Forever 21 or H&M and just buy to wear a couple of times. Guess a lot of people don't like the idea of owning the same clothes for a long time - they'd rather switch it up every season anyway.

That looks like a really nice find actually. -wondering what the sizing is like..or do they make to measure?..iam also Researching companies who use quality fabrics - as I dont wear much in synthetics - they are so uncomfortable it's ridiculous.:cool:
