Dry leather vs Moist leather

This is my ss2012 bleu cobalt city. The leather is quite dry  I just sent it for washing last week hoping that my bag will look better but.. nope. I also purchased a leather conditioner recently hoping that the leather condition will improve as time goes by..

Did you try Leather Honey?

Hi! Nope, I havent tried leather honey yet. I've never heard of it! Do you have any thread to recommend me to read up on that? Thanks a lot!

I've brought to my bag to a well-known bag cleaner shop in Singapore, Color Wash, and they said I can't restore the sides since it's wear and tear.. But I've seen a few posts on pf that with intense conditioning, the sides will get better.

The second shot looks like it shows fading of the color. That may not come back with moisturizing. The effects of "dryness" can be improved. Actual color loss is not something a conditioner or moisturizer can restore.

I finally ordered Leather Honey and it makes a huge difference! I am going to toss the Apple Guard kit my mom got me in to the trash.

My black First looks glossy and dark, and the Sang Town looks much richer. I have gotten more compliments on the color since using the Honey than in all the months previously untreated.

Next up this weekend is using it on my black AW Rocco and Anthracite city. I am really hoping it helps with the rough/faded piping trim on the Rocco.

That is ridiculous. For the amount of money that you paid, I would march myself into Balenciaga and demand a refund or an exchange.

I just bought a Giant rose gold cassis/bordeaux city. How does the leather look? Is it a keeper? Since I am new to the forum, can anyone help to post those pictures? Any comment is appreciated!

I'm jealous! That is some yummy looking leather on your Cassis! I have one as well but not nearly as soft and supple looking as yours! Definitely a keeper.

Hi hrhsunshine, thanks for the leather honey conditioner recommendation. I just received it on eBay. Quite nervous to put it on my bleu cobalt.

Did you apply LH section by section (front for the first 24 hrs, sides for the next 24 hours and finally the back of the bag) or just apply LH on the whole bag and let it dry for 24hrs? Thanks!

Ur most welcome!
The first app can be nerve wracking as you have never worked with the product. Just apply on all the panels. I make sure to avoid the handles and shoulder strap since I touch those with my hands so often and they will get moisture through that. I will just lay down a towel. Place the bag on the towel and massage the LH on the leather. Enough LH to coat your palms is good. Then you just keep repeating as you move from panel to panel. I thoroughly clean/wash my hands and allow the bag to hang for 24 hours. Luckily I have a couple of the those fem hangers with the satin fabric and stuffing inside so the handles can hang very safely. You will be amazed by the difference in just a few hours and then 24 hours. If you see spots of LH on the surface during the drying process, just gently wipe with a paper towel.

Note: Any loss of color due to just plain fading will unlikely be restored. The richness will improve once LH moisturizes the leather.

Good luck!
