Is this a good deal?

I found this Neverfull GM on Malleries. I have already had it authenticated here.

I'm still saving, but the condition of this bag seems excellent compared to when it was made. Lee confirmed that the bag is an '07 model, making it five years old! To me, the patina is awesome and the inside looks super clean.

Although I'm still saving, I'm trying hard to maybe figure out a way that this bag could be mine.

So what do you think? A good deal? Just buy new? Worth the money? It's $739.

This does seem like it is in good condition. I have a NF GM that is 6 years old and although I take excellent care of my bags, I see vachetta cracking here and there which is a natural leather aging process. What's the price going for these days?

Nope! You're only saving $164 for from a brand new NF. Might as well get a new one.

I believe a NF GM is going for $900 pre-tax.

I'm not sure if $200 is a huge savings considering its an older bag. I would consider a 35 to 40% savings. Good luck!!

While I think the bag looks great, If I were in your shoes, I would just buy a brand new bag from the boutique. The savings doesn't seem enough to justify buying used.

Its no where near enough of a saving compared to a new one. Save the extra $$ - which is under $200 - you wont regret it. While the one on Malleries is in good condition l wouldn't pay over $500 for it - after all it is second hand bag

No.. I bought a neverfull pm in 2007 for 575.. 739 seems really overpriced.. for that much money you could almost buy a new one

The other thing to consider. On the newer bags the handles are sewn to the pocket lining to give it more structure, so the top part of the bag doesn't sag when it is full. If you look at the older pic, you can lift the pocket completely up because the handle is not sewn through the pocket, so it will tend to sag at the top when loaded. Similar to how the Totally sags at the top.

Thank you for that information. I did notice that in this model the pocket lifts all the way up, so I asked Lee the year and was told '07. I had no idea that it had anything to do with the structure of the actual bag on top regarding sagging and such. Thank you for that info.

You have all convinced me that new is the way to go unless I find one in excellent condition for a lot less. I'm just working hard to save and for anyone that's read my previous posts, you'll know that I keep vacillating between preowned and new, and I probably will until the day I make the actual purchase.
