Wow! I would be nervous about discoloration. Have you tried this??
I just bought a Large Box from nordies, and the SA used La mer on it to buff out some scratches (I still asked for a discount--and got it!--due to the scratches) and he does this regularly on many different handbags. So, when it arrives I can tell you firsthand how it looks. La mer is white/clear, so I wouldn't think it would transfer or leave a residue. It was developed by NASA (for real) so it isn't just an oily moisturizer.
I plan to try it and will let you know. If you don't want to buy it usually you can get a healthy sample at Nordies or Neimans. That sounds awfully expensive! I wonder if other moisturizers do the trick?
I'd also like to know if anyone has tried this one..
For those in Singapore, I've always sent my bags to BagSpa or Colorwash to get them protected with a transparent coating. This preserves the color of the bags for longer, helps to waterproof the leather and supposedly prevents scratches according to the lady at Colorwash. I think this is especially helpful since the weather in Singapore's always so cranky, from hot and humid to a crazy thunderstorm.
On the other hand, some people prefer leaving the leather to breathe normally so it can age well, and just wipe it down after every use with a leather conditioner. (:
Wish we had that here in the States!
Can you ladies recommend a good leather conditioner to remove color transfer from my Smooth Camel? It's not a lot just one of the handles, maybe it was my black leather jacket.. dun know, but it annoys me and I want to clean it. Any input?
I had a similar stain and the Chanel Eye Make-up remover worked wonders on it! It was a Cream Micro and the stain was green!!! But somethiung like Brick4, as dreamlet recommended, may be more widely-known.
