Tech help me pick laptop please!

ok, Christmas is 10 days away. I have to get this soon! Probably going to order online. This is what I am looking for:

Prefereably 11" screen. However, these seem to not play dvds.

Color purple but not too important. Price about $400.
Opinions on HP sweet purple 15.6? Yes it has a bigger screen but plays dvds.
Wanted smaller screen so daughter can cart to school. Had Acer 0722-0022 in my cart but heard bad reviews?

Usually, Acer is a pretty solid brand. I read mostly positive reviews of the A1.

As for DVD...yeah, when you get that small, there's really not much room for a standard DVD player. Any reason you can't load videos on SD cards?? You can probably get 4 movies on a 32GB SD card...maybe 5 if you use a lower quality.

Here are some larger laptops that have DVD players.

Thanks Charles, then I'm going with the Acer!! Hey question regarding digital cameras. Is it only Sony that has the cyber shot thing? Are there any other cameras that have this?

Not sure what you mean. Yes the model "Cyber Shot" is a Sony, but that's only a model name. Similar to the CoolPix for Nikon or the Elph for Canon.
