pawn shop finds - photos of your pawn shop treasures

Last year I bought a 22" 14k yellow gold curb chain that weighs in at 15 grams from a local pawn shop. It only cost me $400, nothing when you think of the price of gold. I love it, it's my daily wear necklace that I wear along with another slightly shorter curb chain.

I love Pawn Shops........

Tiffany SS and 18k Gold Gatelink Ring $80.

Never put the pics of my pawn shop marquise up, I realized. Here are two. I'm sorry I'm not a great photo taker.
The ring is just below 2 carats total weight. The center diamond is a 1.19 carat marquise. It has an EGL cert that states that it is an I, SI3. I had it independently appraised and it came in as J, I1. The gradesetting inclusion is an almost invisible clear feather that you have to search for among the faceting. The ring sparkles like mad. it cost me $1500 and appraised at $5,000 which I think is great--it looks as if it cost much more.

Here is another pic.
The darkness is the middle is the bowtie which is really slight, but it showed up a lot in the pictures taken in the sunlight.
The other ring is from the pawnshop, also. It's an 18K white gold ring with H VS2 princess diamonds which appraised at $2000--I bought it for $500.
And my friend bought a ring there last week. It appraised as a 1 carat G VVVS2. It is a gorgeous round brilliant solitaire--has a great cut. she paid $4,000. It was appraised as a $9,000 ring.

Here is one of my favorite necklaces.
I bought it as a ring in the pawn shop for $250. The heart diamond is .70 carats. I bought a white gold chain in the pawnshop and had a jeweller create the necklace. total cost was $350--not bad for a .70 pendant. I do not know the color and clarity, but it sparkles like mad (though the photos don't capture this).
I'm making another with a .20 carat pear btw. it will also be in white gold. the final cost will be $120 if I keep the ring the pear diamond came in and $90 if I sell the ring back. I kept the ring from the heart pendant and I could sell that too at current gold prices for at least a little bit.
