Hardware replacement? Anyone done this?

I would like to change the Palladium HW on my HAC due to excessive scratches, etc. I have a couple of questions.

1) Does Hermes do this?

2) Anyone have personal experience with this?

They will change HW, but only within the same color (gold to gold, pal to pal...)
I've heard it's pricey but don't know the exact amount. Call Claude in NYC and he'll help you out.

Always bothered me about Hermes...what if I had a old bag with brass hardware and I wanted to update it with Palladium.....I wish the would allow you to change HW

^^^But think about it, you would have to change the feet, the interior zipper, the stamping, the hardware on the handles of the Kelly. You would literally have to take the bag apart to change all that. The cost would be prohibitive. It may cost as much as buying it new.

I've done this on several of my bags. It costs $500, and they only replace same with same. This does not include lock and keys.

p.s. It works wonders and makes a bag look marvelous! Go for it!

This is exactly what the Store Manager told me too.

The asst mgr of my store recently told me you could change colors, but it would be "very expensive."
