Someone really thought that up, huh? It is really better to watch a video through a purse, than having an item that I must remove from my purse to watch. Maybe they'll come up with an upgraded model with a phone on the other side so I can just talk through my purse, too?

I have a book 'Handbags The Ultimate Accessory' by Tessa Paul - there is a picture in it of a telephone bag - not just that looks like a phone like Kate Spade did a while ago. This one could be actually be plugged into a power source and used to make a call. It had a keypad and handset, and pre-dated cellphones. I think it was from the 1970s - I don't have the book handy right now to check the date.
