I recently purchased a Prada messenger from Ebay seller Rayangie3178. When I received the bag, it kinda looked fishy so I got the purse forum ladies to help me authenticate it and as it turns out, it was a fake!

This is what she showed:

However, this is what I received:

I have contacted the seller to notify her that the bag is not authentic but she refuses to believe me. She said she would give me a full refund if I ship the bag back to the supplier and after they receive it and make sure that everything is what they sent, she'll give me a refund. However, I'm scared that they may just say that I damaged the item or they never received it etc. so I would like a refund first and then I would provide her with proof and tracking for the shipment of the bag.

She also opened a claim first on PayPal and I cannot post anything, it says awaiting for seller's response. Also, she says that I will switch the bag or never return it and thus she will not give me a refund.

I was wondering if anyone has been through these types of situations and can provide me any help or advice on what I should do? Originally, I purchased the bag for someone's Christmas present and it now looks like I can't even get the money back to purchase something else.

Also, does Ebay/PayPal allow purse forum authentications to be used as proof?

Thanks a bunch for your help!

Oh - surprise, surprise - a FAKE from rayangie3178. We've been warning TPF members about this seller for quite some time. If she wants you to ship back to the supplier then she's dropshipping also which means time, trouble and inconvenience for you.

Go to the ebay forum (http://forum.purseblog.com/ebay-forum/ )- they'll be able to give you lots of advice. Contact ebay immediately and explain the dispute situation and that the seller has incorrectly (or otherwise) started a dispute and you are unable to reply because you're not the seller. Ebay will need written proof that the bag is fake and you can get that, for a fee, from Carol Ives at [email protected]

Let Carol know that the ladies here also believe that the bag is fake.

This is not the first time this seller has done this and I don't think it will be the last. I'm quite convinced that they are fully aware that they are illegally selling fakes too.

That seller also trawls this site so they will see what we have advised and may try to block you again. Be tenacious and I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you for your help. I have contacted Carol, hoping to hear back from her soon.

Oh I don't know what to advice but I can only pray and cross my fingers for you that you will win the case. It really makes me angry that there are people out there trying to scam other people
