Hello to my new MK friends!!! I took my new MK Jennings bag (see my avatar) to work today for the first time and I was soooo upset she did not fit in my file cabinet drawer where I normally store my bags all day! She isnt a huge bag, but in order for me to fit her in there, I have to lay her down, or smoosh her and I dont want to do that! The leather will crease, etc. So, I had brought in a few dust covers (just in case I needed to store my bags on the floor one day) and I layed one down on the carpet, put my bag on top of it and then covered my bag with another dust cover. I dont want to store my bag under my desk for fear that I will spill my coffee or soda all over the place (I have done this LOL), but I am not too thrilled about her being on the floor either. Everyone in my office leaves their bags on the floor, opened up, etc, so there is absolutely no worries about thievery, etc, but I am just not that comfortable doing this.....does anyone else store their bags on the floor at work? Also if anyone has any other storage ideas that would be so greatly appreciated! I am an accountant, so my desk is pretty much filled up and there is no room to store her on my desk. Also, another chair is not an option (thought of that, but no room).......HELP!!!!!

If it's a soft, non-structured leather bag it shouldn't crease, should it?

it is soft.....it does have some structure to it though and the zipper part does not "bend".... this causes it to stand too high in my metal file cabinet's drawer.....I could lay it down, but I do have to smoosh it....do you think it would crease? It's the bag in my avatar? I just dont want anything to happen to it from me smooshing it.....from past experiences, I have creased leather from smooshing it and I dont like the crease marks that cannot be removed......

I don't know kuz I don't have the bag in front of me, but if you think it would crease, then definitely don't store it there. Is there another file cabinet nearby you could use? If not, I would get a hanger or any type of hook that would work.

A purse hook might work, but you could still spill coffee or soda on it!

How about a sealed box to put under your desk? You could get it in a large enough side so there would be no creasing or smooshing issues.

Here are some I found:

I would recommend keeping the purse hook though so that you can go out and not have to worry about your new purse getting dirty. :P

How about a large Longchamp bag to store your MK bag in during the day? It would be protective, waterproof, and if it was raining you could carry your lovely MK bag home in it. I always keep one folded up in my good bag that I take to work, just for weather emergencies.

OMG I LOVE this idea!!!! going to check these out!!! Thank you soooo much!!!!

It also sounds like the sharp metal edges of a file cabinet could tear a fine, soft leather bag. (Or perhaps scratch or gouge the surface.)

LOL I lined the drawer of the metal file cabinet with soft dust bags so that my bags wouldnt be scratched by the sharp metal edges!!!! I'm insane, right? The girls in my office laugh at me....but they do not carry designer bags so they just dont understand!!!
