It looks like she folded her scarf in half, draped the middle over her neck with the ends facing her back, wrapping the ends around the neck and forward, and then tying a simple, loose knot (like the first one you tie when you tie shoes).
^Yes, I just tried that with one of my pashminas, that's how the girl in the second picture tied her scarf.
I'm glad that worked! It's always hard to explain how to do things like tie scarves.

It does! Although my scarf needs to be a bit longer, the ends look kind of short compaired to what it looks like in the picture.

From observing all these pics, I think great coats, tights/socks, scarves are a big part of their style.
I agree-- I also think that their wardrobe is full of basics, and they make their clothes more interesting through accessories (like scarves, jewelry, etc.).
