i'd like to know as well... do you just treat them once? or do you go back and apply another coat every once in a while?

Does that stuff also work on patent shoes? There's a faint black smudge on my nude patent rolandos and its driving me nuts. Its not jean transfer... I don't know where its from.

Melia & lalawyer, I was advised to treat them once a week if wearing them often and about 2 times a month if not wearing that often. HTH!

I know this sounds funny but I've tried windex on cloth or a mild baby wipe on my patents and it's worked. Don't saturate the patent, you want the friction from the cloth to "buff" the spot off...good luck.

I've used nail polish remover and a q-tip

Nieners, thanks for responding! So do you really do it that often? I even started a thread to find out and no one replied! :cry: And Melia, thanks for letting me know I wasn't the only one wondering about this! I thought maybe it was so obvious it was a stupid question or something.
