Handy Accessory That Can Also Protect Your Expensive Bag from Water Damage!

Several years ago I picked up a useful item by chance while shopping at the Container Store. It was a nylon RuMe Macro Tote that rolls up small and light-weight and is secured with an attached velcro strap. It opens up large and strong and holds a lot and it is comfortable to carry on your shoulder. Over the years I've used it often as a handy tote and I really found it valuable back when I was taking public transportation to work.

The tote also has an unexpected benefit. It is not waterproof but it is nylon and has water-resistant properties, so if I got caught by an unexpected rain/snow storm I could quickly put my purse inside the RuMe Macro Tote, sling it over my shoulder and keep my leather bag dry and safe. It's now become a habit that whenever I switch bags I always transfer the rolled-up RuMe tote into the next bag.

I've recently retired from working and I have started taking long walks for exercise and enjoyment. I've found that my small, vintage Coach Daypack 9960 makes an excellent bag for walking (see pics below). I use the Daypack as a light-weight, hands-free bag to hold a few necessities (e.g., phone, tissues, ID, house key, mask, etc.)

So I decided to buy a another RuMe tote to keep inside my Daypack. I got the medium tote (it's smaller but still roomy) and it's already come in handy a few times, like when I've stopped to pick up a some items at the local Farmers Market.

Last Saturday's walk started out as a beautiful, sunny day but that changed suddenly. The sky turned dark, the clouds rolled in, and I stated to hear thunder as I hurriedly turned back toward home. When I felt the first drops of rain I pulled out the RuMe Medium Tote and put my Daypack inside it for protection. I was soaking wet by the time I got home but my leather bag was nice and dry, and that's the most important thing, of course!

Here are links for both the RuMe Macro and Medium Totes, they also have a Mini Tote but I haven't tried it. You can also buy them on Amazon and other sites and they come in a variety of colors and patterns. I highly recommend them as handy accessories that may also help to protect your valuable bags!

Is this YSL bag trendy or classic?

@foxgal @Ivygigi
Actually I did not end up getting this bag. As beautiful as it was and as much as I loved it the first time I tried it on, when I saw it multiple times i started worrying that the white color might look “dirty” with continued use, and I wasn’t able to see the other colors in person. I also wished it was a little larger. It is a beautiful classic bag, but I highly recommend you try it on multiple times if you can. Good luck

Oui or not?

I have a Oui ring and I love it to bits! I wear it everywhere except to the gym or when I go on short errands. I definitely prefer it more than the Tiffanly love ring.
Riding on... did anyone hear Oui collection is discontinuing and replaced by the "Dior" collection. Sorry I forgot the name of the collection but instead of Oui in italics, it is Dior in italics. I recently enquired at my local boutique and was told so.

How much variety?

I think the only staple that goes/should go for everyone's collection is "bag/s that works for you". That's as far as I'll go.
I need a big bag for most occasions and then there are those that can carry all day's necessities in a Chanel WOC - and let's not forget those who like to carry both a small bag or a WOC and also a bigger bag for bigger stuff. We all have different needs for sure.

If you prefer colorful clothes you might want a bag that will blend in but won't disappear in the outfit - something neutral like cream, taupe, beige, navy or a light, broken green will work with many colors without clashing.

I try not to overlap anything in my collection. I have no doubles, not in bags or SLGs. That works for me, I get a lot of variation from a smaller amount of bags and I like that.

Valentino (European) webshop: How often do they stock up sizes for Rockstud pumps again?

Hi, I am new to Valentino but have been eyeing for a pair of Rockstud pumps for a while. They are just so stunning. I want to order a pair of 65mm on Valentina European webshop, however they dont have the size I want. I believe that those are their signature items and should stock up more sizes in the future, right? My question is, anybody know how often they stock up more sizes? I need a pair 35.5. Is it possible at all to get this size. US site seems have all sizes available, but not europe :( .

Thanks.

Chanel Deauville Shopping Bag with Sequins

@timmd, and @EWynn and @jgodcheergrl may I have your experience of the deauville with sequin? It appears that you have had it for a couple of months now. May I have pros and cons. I am expected to receive it this week and will only have a couple of days to make my decision to keep or return. I'm excited but also a ball of nerves. Thanks so much
Sorry I just saw your post. I have been using the bag quite often for work and groceries shopping after work, and it still looks the same as the first day I bought it! It does get quite a lot of attention and stares Even my male colleagues noticed the bag on the first day I wore it to work, and complimented that it was so sparkly. I guess if u don’t like the attention, it’s a good idea to let go of it

Burberry Embossed Tote - Peeling Strap & Faded interior Print

Anyone have any issues with the straps peeling and interior burberry print fading? I had my tote for 18 mths (used only half the time). The strap has started to peel and interior print faded near top of tote. Emailed customer service on fading - response was normal wear and tear. Now the strap is peeling - took to store; said no longer in warranty period and if repairable would be at my cost. Took picture and sent to repair shop for evaluation; awaiting response. Beside myself as I have always been extremely cautious when using the bag; definitely not over used. I have a Banner bag for 5 years and is in excellent condition.

The exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I saw that my straps were peeling. I bought the bag at saks in November and used it in February for at 4-6 weeks. I took it back to Saks and the sent it off for repair at no charge. Waiting to get it back now.

Small or Toy Loulou with black hardware? Please, help me to choose.

I like the small. You can fit more but the bag isn't too big. Love the option of shoulder or cross body. You can tie the straps together inside to shorten the length when wearing cross body. In the cross body pics the small is more towards the front, so it looks a bit different. It's just slightly longer.
Otoh, if you don't have a mini bag and that's the original reason for buying something new, go with the toy. They're both very nice!
