Hi guys, posted this on Reddit, but this community seems much more active and knowledgeable.
Wife and I recently got married (small off the cuff wedding because of COVID) and we didn't have time to get each other gifts like we promised. Since things have started to open up, I thought I would get her a pair of Louboutins. She's not a big heel wearer or girly girl, but she is willing for the bedroom, and I think she looks super hot in them. Not long ago I got her a pair of Stessy pumps, and she was a little hesitant at first, but after we had some nice nights with them, I couldn't help but notice she would discreetly put them on in the house just to check herself out. So for sure she's into them on some level. I think she just wants more confidence wearing them because she is already quite tall (5'11). Also, she would always comment on Christine's Loubs (from Selling Sunset on Netflix).
Anyways, I'm wondering what the best pair of Loubs might be for her to possibly have a chance of getting her to wear them out on date night (although I have strictly ruled out true 120's, as she already has a bit of trouble walking in 100's, so unfortunately So Kates' may be out, unless someone can convince me otherwise haha). She is a size 9 in normal heels, like the Stessy which fits like a glove, and her feet I would say are narrow to normal, but toes are a bit longer.
I've done a fair bit of reading, and I've narrowed it down two styles that I think are sexy, but may also be timeless: Kate 100 in Black Patent or Nude Patent, New Very Prive in Black Patent or Nude Patent. I've listed both colors for each because I can't honestly decide what would be the best to go for. The Black I think is very sexy, but I think the Nudes she might feel more comfortable as they are less attention-grabby and more flexible with matching to other things. To me it's the silhouette that is what really drives the "wow" factor though, but I'm not a fashion expert. I could be totally wrong.
It's very important I think that they aren't toooo painful so she might be encouraged to try wearing them more often, and even outside the house. Maybe this is the wrong kind of thinking.
I'm open to considering other styles too btw, I would just like the community's opinion. Is there an absolute must-purchase for a first pair of Loubs? And what size should I get her to minimize the chances of having to return them?
Thanks guys! Much appreciated. PS. I read the sizing thread about the New Very Prives, and it says to size 1/2 down or full down, but the Loub website says it fits true or to size 1/2 up. That's very confusing.
