you should be able to return the bag ASAP and get the store credit, unless this is a new Chanel policy due to customers abusing the old one. I have no proof of this; I am just thinking out loud). I don’t think an SA should show anything but professionalism to customers.

I don’t quite understand what was wrong with the first bag, but I did caution the OP of the thread below that sometimes exchanges can lead to substitute items with more distressing issues.

I think returns or exchanges possibly also depends on the purchase and other relationship you have with Chanel. I will say, as a Chanel customer starting in 1998, with a long hiatus in between, that sometimes you get different answers and attitudes depending on your history (even though I didn’t buy much for a number of years) a different store still could pull up all of my information and purchases.

A last note is that leather goods are organic and even triple A skins have some imperfections natural to the leather. (This may apply to your first return and not your attempted second one). but it would behoove you to examine your purchase before you leave the boutique.

I also think you might have better recourse if you shopped in a Chanel boutique within Bergdorfs, saks or Bloomingdales. (Though I really have no idea since I am a boutique customer).

You might find this thread illuminating (I am sure that there are others like it)

Reminds me of the tiny Hermès kelly charms. Quite useless and silly IMO, but then again useless things can also make people happy.

Would also explain why my reseller has seen a few come in like this.

When worn, the difference in hardware is not that evident so just rock it as is.. I’m going to do the same

I worked for LV and no, they don't offer discounts. If you are outside of the EU/UK, the best way to save money would be to buy in Europe (outside of going the pre-loved route).

Surely there is a canvas version of YSL sac de jour?
Ferragamo usually has some fabric totes with leather trim each season. Likely lighter than all-leather bags?

That zipper is not normal. There's too much space. I would go and exchange it.

Use a blowdryer on warm setting and the handle of a hairbrush to shape the crease away. And keep the bag!

Correction: Platinum is not highly malleable - I meant it's highly durable, more so than White Gold and other golds, but it is true about being a great metal for securing diamonds and gems. A SA from Tiffany's told me that a long time ago, and I goggled it and found it to be accurate.

Also, you should choose the color that really speaks to you. I'm just glad you plan to get the one with diamonds! As for your husband, he will come around and give you a LOVE one day if that's next on your list!

I love my Emery. It’s become my go-to casual anywhere bag. It’s not fussy, like my glovetanned leather bags. It’s big enough to fit a lot, but streamlined enough that it doesn’t look massive. With shutdown I haven’t been going to work or school, so I haven’t needed my bigger bags, and I haven’t been going anywhere fancy, so the Emery is the only bag I’ve been using pretty much since I bought it. It’s holding up very well to my abuse, too, lol.

Just to add on to my story about the key pouch, UPS conducted an investigation and ended up calling me. They had a picture of the truck at my house. I said yes, I did receive it, a month after it was supposed to come and was reported lost! By the time they investigated, I had already exchanged it in store. But I agree, wait till u have both. Then u have 2 to choose from. Return the other.

I think since you already the classic mop vintage Alhambra definitely go for the pave vintage Alhambra earrings. It different from what you already have and a must have pair. Happy shopping!
