Cassette bag?

What are your thoughts on the cassette bag? Is it a classic or a trend? I have the flat cassette not the padded and I'm thinking of selling it but not sure if I'll regret it. Also not sure if the flat one looks for like for me? Thoughts???
I think it’s a classic. Especially the flat weave. Very understated and casual.

I did go through the same dilemma very recently and actually ended up parting with mine but my decision to sell was because I am downsizing my collection and I had another crossbody in black that I reach for more. It’s still a stunning bag and it makes me genuinely happy that someone else will get to enjoy it. It’s too nice to just sit in my closet.

I suggest you make a pros and cons list, account for cost per wear, would you recommend buy it again etc. and then think about it for a few days or weeks. If in doubt, I would usually say wait with letting it go. But with the cassette, it is a style still readily available so if you really do end up regretting it and miss it, you can still re-buy.

Wear on Frivole mirrored BTF ring?

Just a note, my SA adviced that the sizes are funny and don't follow the standard ring sizes. He said, a few sizes need to be tried on to see what fits the best depending on what finger you plan on wearing this ring. So a lot to consider before buying this.
I am putting this piece down on my wishlist too! It's very glam yet classy.
Funny you mentioned this. Your SA is right. I originally bought mine to wear on the ring finger, but over time I lost weight, so then I wore it on my index finger. Now I wear this ring on the middle finger, and I find that middle finger is the best choice because it provides the most balance for the ring.

Has anyone found out that they purchased a counterfeit from Neiman Marcus VCA?

I'm curious what do you mean by policy direction? Do you think VCA's policy is to never reassess an item once it had been identified as a fake?

I suspect that they have a list of criteria and, if something looks off or different, there is no effort to sleuth or understand, or obtain information to reassess. just issue a conclusion and move on. Here they could have contacted the client and asked for information about where the necklace came from, for documents etc. before just declaring it inauthentic.

They don’t seem much interested in after purchase service.

Cartier Love Bracelet - One With Rounder Edges Than The Other?

I used to have a rose gold without diamonds - I had it for about 8 years before I decided it sell it and upgrade to a yellow gold one with 4 diamonds. Apart from them having slightly different looking screw mechanisms as the model changed, I also noticed the same thing about the rounded vs. sharp edges.

My old RG one was noticeably more round, but I had it buffed/polished once. To be honest, I was quite a bit younger back then and did not notice the edges so it's hard to say whether the polishing caused a more rounded appearance. What I do think though is that my new one that is ~3 years old is a lot more crisp and sharp. I like both, but sometimes I think I like the rounded look better because it looks more "well worn". That said, both were purchased directly from Cartier and it is what it is :) Both are pretty.

Chanel Vintage Chicklet Necklace Question

I have several Chicklet necklaces all procured from different sources and I am curious about how they were made and reasons for their differences.

Four of them look similar, as far as the larger rectangular beads with squared edges, 5 smaller beads in between each larger one, thicker gold around the smaller beads and the shapes of the links between the beads.

Two of them are also similar to each other but different from the other four. The circular bead count differs from 4 to 5 to 6 between the larger rectangular beads. The corners of the rectangular beads are more rounded. The gold on the smaller circular beads is not as thick and the links between the beads are flatter. The links and gold around these ones actually look more similar to the sautior necklaces. Those are the beaded necklaces that have only the smaller circular beads.

These last two necklaces were authenticated with Lollipuff which was recommended for vintage Chanel jewelry by someone that is very knowledgeable and a seasoned reseller of chicklets as well as many other Chanel vintage jewelry items.

All the necklaces have the same tag style. I received one necklace that was determined to be fake by legit grails and the tag was completely different. This was before I had several to compare to. The stones were also really large which I guess is a possibility as well.

I also weighed these because the last two that are similar seem to weigh a lot less when you just hold them. The first four weigh between 165-200 grams and the last two weigh 120 grams.

These were only made in 1981 and I'm a little bit confused why they would be so different, if all authentic, in how they were made. Was it just different seasons? Like maybe the heavier ones were made in one season and the lighter ones were made in another season? Along with the sautior necklaces.

I'm sort of at a loss as to where to find this information so hopefully someone here may know!
Thank you!!

Your thoughts on sparkle during daytime & choice of an everyday necklace

@Berengeria reading your posts, you should certainly get the diamond pendant for yourself. I purchased one 6 years ago and I wear it every day the only time it comes off is for a clean. Sometimes I even hang my neck over the ultrasonic as it’s easier that trying to open the pesky clasp!
Mine is from Whiteflash, a gorgeous I VS2 1.0ct diamond.

SOS! First time Purchase regret

I don't think the mini is too formal. I wear mine casually all the time. I have a beige and a black. It just takes time getting used to using such an expensive bag casually.

But buyer's remorse within an hour is not something I've heard of. Usually I'm elated for a week post purchase.

This is something you need to think about. Is it the bag? Is it the price tag? Is there something else you rather get to celebrate your achievement? Dig deeper. Maybe you want a piece of jewelry or a vacation, or keep the money. I don't know. But definitely return, the SA will turn around and sell it no problem!

Help: Lady Dior Diamond Motif Issue

Sorry you have had this experience. It would be frustrating and upsetting on any purchase but even more so on something so expensive. It's a shame to hear about the poor quality of this bag. Do you have photos?

I am not sure that the flagship store will be able to help. When I was in Amsterdam last year and wanted to make a simple return of a small item I purchased (one of several things purchased) the very best day street purchasing, I was told I had to go to the exact boutique where I purchased and would get credit I could only use in that country, even though I would also be in Paris the following day.

Seems their policies are stringent but hopefully someone can help you. I would ordinarily say dispute the charge on your credit card but no way you could do that this long after buying it. Good luck!

Thank you!

And their policies are incredibly confusing, especially considering they wouldn’t even accept your return at a different boutique in the same city, while I was able to exchange a bag in literally different countries.

I will try my luck in Paris because Dior has had the bag since September so I’m not returning anything technically.
I honestly just want this resolved.

Also you mentioned you were in Amsterdam, any chance you went to Chanel or Fendi? If so is there such inventory?

Thank you again!!

Please help me decide if I should get the patent mini bag.

I have the same bag and I must say it's a stunner in real life. I had no intentions of buying it but when I saw it in person at the boutique, my jaw dropped. Not a classic colour, but a brilliant pop of colour for my predominantly black bag collection. Plus it's a classic mini flap, which is my personal favourite style of a Chanel bag.
I don't think the photos do justice and I also don't think those are cracks. See an image of the bag in real life.

10-motif necklace for daily casual wear

Also hammered advising : carefree as other said. It is also really good looking in my opinion and very classic piece. I have the YG 10 motif and wear it as an everyday piece. You can order for now the RG hammered 10 motif. Not sure for the YG. If you couldn’t try them and see how it goes with your skin then maybe it could be worth to order the RG hammered and wait to try it. If it does melt in your skin then pass. The thing is if you order in a boutique they don’t refund but give credit only … for the onyx I also have brown dark hair and it looked very nice also. But still preferred the hammered ones …

VCA shopping in Mexico City

Has anyone shopped at the VCA boutique in CDMX? I’m planning my travel for 2025 (I live in the USA) and will be taking a trip to Mexico City and then also to Europe a few months after that, so lining up my wish list items! I have never been to Mexico City, so not sure how the prices are and what the VAT refund situation is like. Any help/advice would be much appreciated!

Celine CLASSIQUE TRIOMPHE BAG IN SHINY CALFSKIN - current situation - to buy or not to buy?

I am confident that the Triomphe emblem will remain with Celine forever. LVMH is clearly aiming to transform Celine from a fashion brand into a lifestyle brand, similar to Dior and Louis Vuitton. They now have perfumes, cosmetics, and home decor. For a brand to establish itself in this way, it needs key elements like a signature emblem, brand colors, or even an iconic animal symbol, as well as classic handbags that create a lasting identity.

I am certain that the Triomphe and 16 bags will not be abandoned. Even after Hedi’s departure from the brand, Celine's Instagram recently posted a new campaign featuring the Triomphe and 16 bags, along with the Monogram Triomphe collection.
Thank you for your reply. Your points are very reassuring. They made sense to me and all valid.
