Changing your SA- good or bad idea?

Change is good.
I shop while on holiday very often. The date and place of the certificate marked where I had been (since custom clearance these days are electronic and I don't get a passport stamp).

I don't like the idea of being confined to a boutique, to a person which is a real bummer when it comes to holiday pendants and completing my set.

Even though I shop in my local boutique, the SA who took over my account from my old SA never had anything for me - no holiday pendants, no "hello" message about receiving new items or exciting pieces. I would have changed the SA if I was still interested in shopping locally but the experience is so "yucky" that I want to use my money elsewhere. So I still remain diplomatic, locally ...
I am with you!! I want to feel free...

Has anyone seen these bags?

Hello, has anyone seen these bags in real life? I was wondering if the cc bag can fit at least a lipstick? Same goes for the sparkly bag? And if the strap from the round vanity case can be removed? See pictures below.

Henri Bendel discolored luggage -

I have not owned henri bendel striped items for decades, but mine, laminated in plastic or not, always eventually discolored. Under plastic, it almost looked like a crazed pattern over the stripes. Re regular untreated canvas, it simply faded. I had a feeling it was bc of oxidation even if protected from dust and sunlight. Use and enjoy for what they are. No sure there is anything that can be done. If I recall correctly, I had two sided, oversized, dop kits with handles, cosmetic domed zip cases, and tote bags. . .

Fold or collapse canvas speedy 20

Late seeing this but just took mine out and confirming that 20 does not fold like 25 or 30.
I actually did fold the 20 once but only for a minute. Mine folded the same way as my speedy 25. It was quite easy to do. The 20 seemed bulkier somehow....maybe the zippers. Also, I think its got something that makes the canvas stiffer and perhaps the bottom is reinforced. It doesn't have that slouchy look that the speedy 25 does even when empty.

It did fold though and the folded shape was the same as the 25 but just a bit thicker.

T Smile bracelet with chain

I’ve worn mine mostly 24/7 for about 2 years. There’s probably been a month or two collectively that I didn’t wear it. The smile is solid and not bendy like the other bracelet you’re referring to.
I haven’t noticed any wear besides hairline scratches. I would suggest if you do get it, to get a size that’s more snug in fit if you want it to stay on the top side of your wrist. Mine is fitted pretty well, and although it does travel to the top outer side of the wrist it’s never rotated around due to the curved shape. I hope this helps. That is exactly extremely helpful. I think I’m taking the plunge!

Alto Callista Opinions Requested

Yeah! Good to know, it looks like we purchased the same bag in marine. I'm glad to read the Alto dark blue is nice. It sure photographs well.

I wonder if the deals will get better closer to the real Black Friday or in December, but I took the chance with ordering two bags this weekend.

I will follow your lead and remember that I can't always get the best deal. My Alto (black) Arietta was my good find on D&B or ILD ($725.00 marked down to $199.00).

One thing I like about D&B is that I have only purchased a few disappointments. I return or sell. I have learned for the most part what I like and what functions work for me.

I have cut down on my handbag purchases, but the styles and quality have me coming back for more (2-3 bags a year is pretty disciplined in my mind).
2-3 bags a year is very disciplined. You are doing well. With me it's either buy or don't buy. Once I start, I find more things I want. If I stop, I can go for a few months
without being tempted.

I think the sales won't be as good as we get closer to the holidays. Then, after
Christmas, they will pick back up. But some of the items may be returns.... could be
no big deal, someone just didn't like the color or style. Or.... returns can be true
rejects.

Finding that real treasure at an amazing price, like you did for the Arietta means checking
the site often. And then often means I'm tempted to buy something.

Chanel beaute vip bags

We cannot discuss authenticity of Chanel as we don’t have anyone qualified.
I'm not asking if that particular bag in my photo is authentic. I am asking if Chanel did commission this particular model of bag as a gift for Beaute members & do these bags given as a gift have any sort of code number/letter sticker inside and come with any sort of certificate etc.

If anyone knows of a particular website that will list Chanel bags given as a gift that I can research I would be grateful.

Vachetta leather

I am team leave-it-alone. Of course, it needs a certain level of care and attention in the first few years, but if the leather is clean and cleaned properly after a rain, it will be fine. I've walked home with my Noé in light rain numerous times, nothing. But I give it a thorough cleaning with everything-free baby wipes every few months.
This summer, I almost got caught in a downpour. It was very close to a shopping mall. So when the first lightning hit, I ran inside, went down to the grocery store, and bought drawstring trash bags. I did put my Noé in one and went home under an umbrella. People were looking  A couple passed by, and the guy pointed at me and told his girlfriend, ‘Look, he has a Louis Vuitton in a trash bag', and she was like, 'I totally see why'
So while I am on team leave-it-alone, I am very mindful about water damage. But I feel it is a price I am willing to pay. There is nothing like untreated vachetta; looks amazing and that scent should be a perfume.
Thank you for the advice and the great story lol

Advice on curating my collection!

So as the title states, I need help with what to do regarding my Chanel collection, specifically in regard to my classic flaps. Currently, I have 4 CFs — medium black caviar with gold hardware, medium beige caviar with gold hardware, small coral pink caviar with light gold hardware, and medium pink lambskin with silver hardware. Lately, I am regretting my choices for gold hardware on the black and beige, as I don’t feel it suits my skin tone. I wish I would’ve chosen the silver, especially on the black. It gives more of a youthful and casual vibe to me too. Now the question is — should I get the black with silver hardware? I don’t want too much repetition in my collection and I also have a black caviar WOC with gold hardware, so everything feels out of balance. If I got the silver hardware, I’d feel like I want to get rid of something from my current collection. However, I’ve also had a hard time with selling/consigning luxury items. I feel like I always sell at a loss and it’s very hard to find trustworthy buyers or consignment companies. It’s been a stressful process in the past and I’ve heard horror stories. The CF is my favorite bag aesthetically, but I also don’t give my current 4 enough love. My boyfriend told me I should think twice before getting the black with SHW, because my current black GHW only gets occasional use, despite being one of my favorite bags. I have to say, it has become a little scary to carry out CFs and I believe that to be a big part of the reason. To me, the WOC is super impractical (save for travel purposes) and I have found myself using it more, simply because it feels less scary (not because I like it more). I also notice many people go for Hermes these days when wanting to spend CF level money… It doesn’t change the fact that I love them though and find them very easy and fun to style. What do you think? Is getting the black with SHW redundant? Should I get rid of any of my collection? If so, any selling or consignment method recommendations? Any and all insight would be super helpful! TIA!! 🩷
Dear lovely pinkmilq,

I thought your dilemma was very real and something we all face from time to time when reviewing our curated collection. The fact of the matter is, since these items are collected over a period of many years, there will always be pieces that eventually feel like eye sore. That's just the harsh reality.

Your collection is rather beautiful and diverse. Commenting on each of them individually:

medium black caviar with gold hardware - classic, keep!

medium beige caviar with gold hardware - lovely neutral, keep! If the gold hardware bothers you, you can sell it and get decent money for it but replacing it with the same colour but I'm SHW seems a bit irrational esp since it costs a lot more now than when you purchased it initially. Perhaps getting a similar neutral colour like camel or khaki or off white with SHW, might make more sense. Also I've seen khaki with silver and it looks divine. Very chic and timeless. Think over it and don't rush.

small coral pink caviar with light gold hardware. This one, I would personally resell. Coral pink with gold is very specific and doesn't stand the test of time. Keep in mind, you will lose money on this as it's not a popular colour in the resellers market. I recommend vestiaire collective, with authentication route only! Never ever direct shipping. It's the only market place that has worked for me and I control the price and keep selling cost to a minimum.

medium pink lambskin with silver hardware. Summery, perfect for holidays. keep!

At the end of the day, these items are meant to be enjoyed and any stress derived from them seems rather unnecessary and unwarranted. I hope this helps and good luck!!

Has anyone found Chanel costume earrings to be painful and heavy?

Back in the day when all Chanel earrings were clip on (1980s), I would hold them in my hand to see how heavy they were and a lot of them were heavy. I guess it would be a wise thing to do even today even if they are for pierced ears. I chalked up their big and heavy earrings as being for runway because there was no way I could wear them all day.
I had to pass on them but they were indeed heavy. I immediately had a reaction to them.

Cassette bag?

What are your thoughts on the cassette bag? Is it a classic or a trend? I have the flat cassette not the padded and I'm thinking of selling it but not sure if I'll regret it. Also not sure if the flat one looks for like for me? Thoughts???
I think it’s a classic. Especially the flat weave. Very understated and casual.

I did go through the same dilemma very recently and actually ended up parting with mine but my decision to sell was because I am downsizing my collection and I had another crossbody in black that I reach for more. It’s still a stunning bag and it makes me genuinely happy that someone else will get to enjoy it. It’s too nice to just sit in my closet.

I suggest you make a pros and cons list, account for cost per wear, would you recommend buy it again etc. and then think about it for a few days or weeks. If in doubt, I would usually say wait with letting it go. But with the cassette, it is a style still readily available so if you really do end up regretting it and miss it, you can still re-buy.
