BB Alma

That reminded me of taking my Alma BB out (omg, I love the smell!!!). I don‘t use it that much as I prefer bigger bags, but it was so cute I couldn‘t pass up on this. But it fits more than one think.

This are all my must haves. They fit without problem, bag is easily closable, but it is full then also.
That is: passport, card holder, pouch with powder, lipstick and lipliner, lip balm, umbrella, hand sanitizer, tissues, airpods, extra foldable bag.

Best skincare routine to reduce age/sun spots on face

I started using the Molecular Hero Serum about 6 weeks ago and the Retinol Synergist about 2 weeks ago. These are both from Mother Science. I have noticed improvement especially with the addition of the Retinol Synergist of my dark spots. DH read an article in the LA Times and bought it for me. He is using it too and noticing improvement.

I have used prescription hydroquinone in the past without much improvement and would not use it again due to it’s potential side effects and possible carcinogenic potential (I know, it seems like anything can be linked to cancer).

I did have luck with oral Tranexamic acid that was also prescribed by my dermatologist but my dark spots returned once I stopped taking it.

I also plan to buy the Mother Science moisturizer once I run out of my current night moisturizer as I like this brand so much.

Incidentally the current makeup artist for the White Lotus reports using the Molecular Hero Serum at biotechxbeauty.com. Since they are currently filming in Thailand and it is very sunny she stated that it is easier to fade dark spots than to cover them up with more makeup.
thank you for your suggestion

Loro Piana extra

Is it still possible to get a L19 or is there a waitlist?
There isn't a waitlist exactly, but availability varies by location. Stores tend to favor local clientele who show interest in items besides the L19. It isn't quite as easy as it used to be years ago where if they had one, you were guaranteed to be able to purchase. Some boutiques and SA's are more relaxed about selling to walk in customers. Good luck and happy shopping!:)

Colour Transfer on Contrast Stitching?

I am wondering if a VERY steady and careful hand with a Tide Pen would help here honestly; I can't see that being hugely damaging to the leather, especially if you are prudent only touching the stitching.. otherwise if you are open to it, I'd send it to spa if it vexes you too much.

'send it to spa' would always be my immediate advice to any problem like this.
I am annoyed with myself that I prejudged what seemed to be the impossibilty of the task and didn't make that my first suggestion.
STUPID STUPID STUPID Me
Do not mess about with it; take it to Hermes and get advice there. If you are without the bag for a few months, so be it.
It's the right thing to do.

Shopping in Seoul?

You must find those chips! They are from "Piaf" in Seoul.. I've never tried anything like it.

I highly recommend going to Seoul or Tokyo to check out the boutiques! They are so extremely nice there - honestly I think not only in the boutiques but majority of people in Korea/Japan in general. I'm thinking Japan would be better for foreigners though; I only encountered one SA in Seoul and she didn't speak a single word of English (not sure if other SAs speak English there).

I had to go back to the boutique 4 times.
1) Initial visit to scope out the inventory. Ended up wanting a watch for both my partner and me; he was certain about the watch he wanted and turns out they only had the display model so the SA insisted on ordering him a brand new one but said we'd have to come back for it. Meanwhile I tried on 2 watches that I was deciding between so I told her I'd make a decision when we come back for his watch. She also knew that I was interested in a 3rd option but she mentioned it was the most popular watch and size in Korea so she didn't have it.
2) A few days later, we came back to pick up partner's watch and to get one of the two watches I had tried on. To our surprise, she ordered his brand new watch AND that 3rd option for me that she said was hard to find, she said she knew I wanted to try it so she had it transferred in just in case. :amazed: I couldn't believe it. We made the purchase and told her we had to rush off for dinner and if we could come back later that night to pick up the items.
3) Came back later that night.. also then told her we were interested in a ring. She looked into it and said there's only 1 left in the whole country and she could try to order it but it's not guaranteed.
4) A few days later, we received a text that the ring came in. She ended up coming in quickly on her day off to meet with us and gave us the chocolate potato chips!:love::love:

I will say that each visit was quite lengthy. Lots of chatting, it took a long time to process the transactions and especially for the gift wrapping. There was special New Years packaging and she wrapped up everything so beautifully; even labeled gift tags with each others' names for us (without our knowledge!) Before wrapping the packages, she also arranged the items on a tray and told us to take photos.. she said many customers like to do that and even placed a floral arrangement behind the tray for the photos lol. I've only purchased from e-boutique so I have no idea what U.S. boutique service is like but I have visited many times to browse and usually just encounter quite decent or even rude SAs. I've never had such a special experience in any store! Hope I get the opportunity to shop with her again in the future.

I'm really glad you had such a marvelous time (and left with so many jewels!). Haven't been able to find the Piaf chips in the US from searching so far ... but I'll keep going.

Small YG Frivole Earrings Help

Hi there! Sadly they can’t ship it internationally! Luckily I’m going on a trip soon and will be able to pick it up. I was very very very persistent on finding my pair. I contacted boutiques all over the world - from Vegas to Dubai. I am not sure what size you are looking for. My local boutique had mini and large Frivole YG in stock recently (mid December). I believe it is much easier to get those. But I really wanted small size. There was one boutique in the US that was willing to do an inquiry of availability (only USA/Canada stock) if you pre-pay 100%. Dm me if you want that SA contact info. Good luck!
Thank you. I have sent you a DM.

Is turnlock in my Chanel crooked?

My SA called me few days ago that she has a new bag form me to exchange the previous one! I am so happy. But there was one interesting thing - she told me that she doesnt see that it was crooked. Maybe she cannot admit out loud that the turnlock was faulty. But nevermind now ❤️ There she it

New (?) Ecrou bracelet !? Gorgeous!

I was on the US Cartier website this morning and noticed this Ecrou style which I’ve never seen before. Appears to hinge at the back and functional screw together at the top. Does anyone have this or seen it irl at boutique? I love the look of it  Also comes in a ring!

(Mods please collapse into existing thread if repetitive…I did a search and couldn’t see anything about it or a general Ecrou thread to add to)

They have had this one for quite a while, I like it also. There are a few photos in the ecrou thread, because I asked about it, and someone responded.

Slim Trunk or Side Trunk PM?

So the slim trunk I ordered came in today! I absolutely love it!! It holds everything I need - iPhone 12 mini, compact mirror, lipsticks, battery pack, handcream, cardholder wallet, sanitizer, mints, and a few other little trinkets. I also don’t carry a lot so my side trunk mm was never full. The slim trunk is very carefree without the vachetta and it looks SO gorgeous as a clutch. It’s really hard to find pictures online of the slim and I have only see two videos on TikTok showing the bag. It is something definitely worth ordering in to see if you’re interested. If you’re familiar with the original Favorite PM bag, I found the size to be very similar.View attachment 6101819
Goodness Gracious! That is gorgeous! Congratulations! Currently living vicariously through you. lol

Brands that make nickel-free white gold (palladium white gold)?

I go to a local jeweller for my pieces because my nickel allergy is awful (I get "burns" or rashes) and they seem to hint there's nickel in the recipe for white gold. They recommended palladium as an alternate to white gold but I get allergic reactions to it as well.

I think the only piece they've rhodium plated for me was a white gold ring but I still get allergic reactions to the piece.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I may have to stick to the luxury brands listed earlier if most local jewelers can’t source nickel free white gold for us! Such a bummer.

Necklace doesn't suit me - advice

The difference to me is the controlled home environment. My SA has let me try things at home. I do that in a very controlled and careful way, do not wash my hands with a ring on or put on earrings over a hard surface. I do not get sweaty or use hair products or steam milk for a coffee or wear it while on the toilet or really do anything besides carefully put on the piece I am trying and look in different lights. I don’t go for a walk, I don’t try it out in my car. You get the idea I think. I am equally careful or even more so than when trying in the store and do not treat the item as like it is already mine.

When I wear something out of the store, I treat it like it is mine. I am not rough and don’t want to scratch, but it is just different. I wear it into the bathroom to use the toilet, I take different risks about putting it on and off in a car or even on the subway, and so on Those who say they inspect the pieces of course are right, but it is not the same to me, even if it seems psychological.
I appreciate you taking the time to explain; it definitely makes sense if people are so careful about trying on the pieces at home.

Nice BB or Toiletry Bag?

Thanks for your comment. You are right, in a hotel room, Nice BB is most probably better. Have you bought an insert for it or do you use it without?
I also use mine without an insert, more space and the material is easy to clean. Oils containing pieces I put in a small plastic bag before putting it in the Nice BB. I have taken it to I guess at least 8-10 vacations and it didn’t even get new stains on its vachetta (mine has vachetta trims) despite always being placed in the bathroom. It really is a trusty travel piece.
