Bonnie Cashin Carry ?? Value??

Hi and what a find. I don’t believe we are allowed to comment on value here. That being said, at the moment vintage Coach is hot! But the name of the style is the Hasp Bag. Do a search on the internet, selling sites and that will give you an idea of what people are selling it for. I am not exactly sure of the timeline but I believe late 60’s or early 70’s for the little metal tag. I am not sure if this style was attributed to Bonnie Cashin. It would not surprise me if others sellers say that. Just about every seller these days seems to claim their vintage Coach is a Bonnie Cashin design.
What a fabulous treasure, in my book! Until there are other replies, for more info, do a search of the Coach forum for Hasp

Article on Superfakes (sigh)

Hate this too. I know someone who bragged about buying "high quality" LV fakes from Turkey. Like many here, I have spent a lot of my hard earned money curating my handbag collection and I realize not everyone can afford the luxury bags they see on social media, but I have only purchased real and now have to worry about possibly ending up with a replica on the resale market, or even having authenticity of my own bags questioned or having a bait and switch scam pulled if I ever decide to sell any of my bags.
Yeah, I sold my chanels years ago, but it would be incredibly stressful trying to sell one now.

Which would you pick?

Neither is a need - just wants. Would you get the new Eva or if you could score a preloved pochette Métis east west with no straps included for 2k would you go for that style of bag? I don’t have the pochette Métis but I have the monogram canvas crossbody strap already and I have gold chains I can use. I don’t really like the strap drop of the east west chain anyway - it looks like a thick bag is right in your armpit but correct me if I’m wrong and it feels comfy. I just like the chunky look not practical for me because I also wouldn’t wear it hanging down while crossbody either. i also have LV jacquard guitar straps. Do you think it’s worth it or better to just get the Eva and keep the pochette Métis as a wishlist bag for next year or whenever. I like both but wondering if by the time I fill the east west if it will stick out as much as my mono speedy 20 and essentially be redundant whereas the Eva I could throw on monogram crossbody strap for daily use and then use the chain for dressing up or use my felicie chain for chain crossbody look. I’m leaning towards Eva but I know it’s small so I’m worried about capacity. I will try it in store. I have a vintage Pochette accessories but it feels very casual to me because the d rings are silver at this point so dressing it up with a gold chain never really excites me but I like to throw it on crossbody casually - I would even sell it to fund a bit of the Eva cost.

Trying to decide on first Chanel Boy Bag for birthday

I bought a Boy as my first Chanel bag (after my WOC!) I did buy black but that’s because at the time I didn’t have a basic black bag. I still don’t own a classic flap (if I buy another Chanel it’ll be a flap, maybe a seasonal; but haven’t yet).

I’m petite and yet I still went for the large, because I wanted a bag that could fit all my things if needed. I love my Boy, it’s a gorgeous day bag.

I definitely agree on buying new, I think there’s something also to be said for the experience of it and it being your birthday, I’m sure if you tell the SA before that it’s your birthday they’ll make it into a special experience.

In terms of colour, I’d go through your wardrobe and pick a colour that goes with most of your clothes, either blending or a good pop. Red for example works really well with my wardrobe.

Enjoy! Happy birthday!

Why is the dye of the leather trim on my Mini Lin Manon bleeding onto the fabric after getting wet?

I can see how such old leather pieces can release some paint when getting wet. I also doubt that anyone could properly dye it without being visible or covering the seams.
I was surprised though that the Idylle canvas is this sensitive, but it's kinda logical, considering the nature of the fabric.
These are the collections that I call real luxury, because it needs quite a budget to just throw them out after one summer. Unless you are super careful.

Mini LouLou or Gaby? Need Your Thoughts!

I have the mini LouLou in burgundy. I find the lambskin to be pretty durable. However, I don't use it as an everyday bag. I find it too small to be an everyday bag. I use that bag on weekends when I don't have to carry much. Since it comes with a cardholder, I don't need to bring a wallet. I put cards in the cardholder and cash in the slip pocket. It can fit the essentials. I would go for the mini Loulou over the Gaby. I think it holds more and has a timeless look to it.

Asking for a bag for Another

Thank you! She doesn’t live in my state. How would this work?
Talk to your SA and store manager about it. They will walk you through. As we all know, the store policy changes constantly and it is best to be honest with them and they are usually very helpful to their good customers. It is very important to let them know that you are buying the bag as a gift (not selling to your sister after you get it.). Gifting happens all the time. Since H certainly does not mind selling me almost identical bags many times, I don’t think it will be an issue.

Best of luck! You are a great sister.

Saw a Miu Miu unboxing on Reetzy.com and now I’m obsessed 😍

Okay… so I was casually scrolling through the other day (as one does 😅), and someone posted the cutest Miu Miu unboxing video. The bag was so dreamy, I couldn't stop thinking about it... and now here I am, a proud new Miu Miu owner lol

Had to come on here and share the love. I never paid much attention to Miu Miu before but that video totally sold me. Their designs are such a fun mix of vintage glam and modern chic.

Anyone else here into Miu Miu lately? Would love to see your fave pieces or recent buys!

"Every day necklace" (suitable for to wear in the office) - white gold/diamonds?

I’m on a similar search. I don’t have a Chaumet or Boucheron boutique near me, but I would love to be able to try on the Boucheron serpent boheme pendant XS motif in pave diamond, or the Pivoine pendant.

And for Chaumet, the Bee de Chaumet solitaire diamond pendant in a 0.30 carat size.

Sorry I can’t speak to personal experience with either, but love the look of all 3.

I own the Cartier D’Amour large diamond pendant (but in yellow gold) and do like it, but it is very very tiny. I also personally prefer the setting on the Tiffany Diamond by the Yard and would have gone with that one, but I have very sensitive skin and the back of the diamond pokes me on that piece. Many have no issue with it, though.

Good luck with your search and please update us if you decide on something!
I have the serpent boheme and the pivoine pendant and they are gorgeous! Go for it! The serpent boheme in XS is more on the dainty side though, it is does not have the same presence than the pivoine. The serpent boheme in S has a nice presence and is suited for everyday as well (it’s the size I own).
