Y Tote or Amalia?

Of the ones you’ve posted, another vote for the Y tote in suede. The suede is dark enough that you shouldn’t have to worry dirt showing much, especially if you treat it with a protectant first.

If you’re worried the tote is too big, there is the 5 a 7 hobo in suede, or the Y hobo in leather that cinches on the sides?

I think I am crazy I bought another speedy!

I have to say that I love it but wish I would have bought a vintage piece instead. Even comparing it to my 2012 Speedys it lacks craftmanship. I have a early 2000's maybe a 2002 that looks old but very good condition and I do not think this one could take the beating that one did.
Oh wanted to add that I wish my 35's were 25's because the bag is much lighter.

New Chanel Mini Flap

This is one of my dream bags and I know they are very difficult to find. I saw one last month but it had a tiny scuff and decided not to get it, got my WOC instead and I love it.

Walked inside Neumans and they had two minis one rectangular and a square. The rectangular showed signs of wear, like scuffs and a mark on the flap from storage. I decided to take the rectangular but now every time I open it I see the marks and I just realized that the sides are uneven.

Should I just keep the bag since it’s unicorn bag and might not come across another one soon. I have an SA that I message for updates but this is the only bag they had.

What would you do?
It is fine, I would get over it, to the end, high chance it will be resold as used, so I would get over it. If it is too perfect, I would have hard time to put it up for sale, haha.

Bumbags which one

I have both the high-rise and the rush, and I don’t think wipes would fit unless you went with a small travel pack. I use both with my toddler, and I can fit a small wallet, my phone, and essentials like chapstick, keys, sunglasses, and eye drops inside both… But no kid supplies! I think I could fit a pouch or little ziploc of cheerios at most in terms of snacks.

They’re better for being totally hands free in my opinion, but definitely limited in terms of space.

Rose Gold Sweet 1 Motif or Diamond Sweet 1 Motif. Bracelet

I love my sweet Alhambra hammered gold bracelet and wear it everyday. I also have a small wrist and it’s a perfect size for me for an everyday piece as the vintage 5 motif looks too dressy for my taste. To be honest, the singe diamond motif feel too overpriced for it is imo. That being said, if you need to pay the full deposit and wait for up to 6 months, I’d think about upgrading to the 6 motif rose gold hammered as it’s only double the price of the single motif but you get 6 motifs instead of one (not sure if it’s the same post price hike). If the finances allow, of course.

I was able to purchase my single motif during an unplanned store visit, without any wait so could try it on at leastView attachment 6168142
Beautiful! Yes barely any maintenance as you don’t have to care for the stone for everyday wear. Deposit down for the hammered rose single. Let’s see how long this takes.

Dooney Toscana care

Hi everyone.
I’m waiting for my newest treasures to arrive in the mail. I need her with maintenance and I do appreciate your help. I have a silver gray Toscana domed satchel with matching wallet coming. I just want to make sure I can care for it . Can you all advise on scratches of Toscana leather@rue rue same as your red domed satchel profile pic. I’ll be posting pictures as I can. I’m still doing my best to navigate this stroke recovery with one hand. Doing really well and I haven’t stopped treasure hunting. I’m excited to ad my fist Toscana item to my collection. I’ve tried to find videos of this color but haven’t found anything….. here she is
I’m going to love her.this is the lightest color in my collection. I gifted my one ecru and I’m happy with this color. Can’t wait to feel this baby.
Your new silver gray Toscana satchel and wallet are beautiful. Enjoy them.
I haven't found a good way to care for my Toscana satchel.

Which Bezel Necklace?

Thank you! However, I went in to Tiffany’s today to look at olive leaf earrings and decided to try on their DBTY collection on a whim to compare with the ones I already tried. I wound up purchasing a 0.25 ct H color IF internally flawless rose gold DBTY! The bezel is so thin and unobtrusive and, as you all recommended looking for, really makes the diamond stand out.

The Tiffany chain was far nicer than any I had yet tried on, and the color and clarity were superb. Also, they have an upgrade policy for diamonds larger than 0.17 ct. As long as I purchase something at least double the price of my initial purchase, I can put the cost of my original purchase toward a new piece.

I was fairly certain I wouldn’t choose branded jewelry for this piece as I have a great relationship with and trust several local jewelers. However, I fell in love once I tried it on.

Now I just have to wait to get it back from being extended to add jump rings at 17 and 18 inches!

Thank you again for the words of wisdom and guidance toward the most aesthetically pleasing diamond bezel! I appreciate it beyond words!
Congratulations with your purchase! Tiffany's craftsmanship is definitely very nice and rose gold looks beautiful on you!

Is this wear to the edge glazing and something that could be repaired, or a flaw?

I do not see signs of wear or damage, but the resin was applied a bit sloppily on this portion of the bag. Of course, you might consider visiting an After Sales Representative at you local boutique to see if Hermès Spa could tidy this up, but I would not be surprised if the bag came back from Spa looking fairly identical. This is an unfortunate consequence of increased commercialisation at Hermès (i.e., faster production, less discriminant QC).
Thanks for your reply! That's good to know, in a way, that it's just a normal part of the bag. Even though Julia Rose is a really reputable reseller, and even though the bag is authenticated, there's still a .5% part of me that worried about having bought a fake. I know this forum doesn't authenticate, so that wasn't what I was trying to ask here, but it's still weirdly comforting to hear that this can be normal on Hermes bags (though at the same time, discouraging, because you'd expect more precision!).

Bracelet Swapped During Store Repair?

Is it possible they went overboard with polishing to get rid of the scratches? I know polishing can take away some of the metal, would explain why it feels lighter. A polish might be standard when something goes for repair, though I am speculating.

Do keep us posted on what you find out. Would be very interested to hear what Tiffany have to say

“Welcome” mistake

Thank you so much for another very informative reply! I will definitely check ilovedooney as well then. I think before I ordering anything, I’ll visit a local department store to see what they have. Even if they don’t carry a particular style or color I want, I’d like to get a feel for the leather. We have no Dooney specific store where I live. From what I understand, the brick and mortar Dooney stores are few.
As you investigate and shop, feel free to ask questions. Posters on the Dooney forum like to talk about handbags we love and can be very helpful.

We understand that everyone has different handbag styles, budgets, and needs. But posters here try to share what they have learned and experienced over time.
No matter how smart someone is, or how many handbags they own, no one knows everything. We all get smarter by learning from each other. And we know that things are always changing, so the new version of that older style may
not be the same as the version made years ago. This applies to any handbag
brand and probably everything else on the planet too.

Every handbag brand is different, and it takes a while to make sense of a brand that is new to you. As many handbags as I have, I still struggle to understand Coach handbags, for example. I'm enough of a handbag and leather nerd to want to know all about the leather, not just the style and pretty colors. And I know that the leather quality itself will make a difference in how the handbag looks and wears over time, how it feels, and whether I will love it.

Crumpled and stretched looking leather on Evelyne 40 (TGM) - permanent damage?

I passed by a reputable reseller in my area, and they had a rare Evelyne III 40 (TGM), Clemence leather, in a light neutral (etoupe or light beige). However, when I examined it and tried it on with the strap, the leather was (as best as I can describe) visibly crumpled and stretched.

With the perforations facing out, the leather did not lie flat against my body and it instead looked crumpled over the perforations. The leather did not smooth out after I removed the storage stuffing (just paper) inside the bag, tried to smooth the leather by rubbing it gently with a gloved hand, or try to put a small object and gently press down on the bottom of the bag to get the leather to stretch out the way it would in use.

Further, there was a visible slight crease on one side of the bag, about 1 cm away from the edge and parallel to the edge. It was as though the bag was stored flat on its side but a large, heavy object was placed on top of it such that the side of the bag pressed against part of the larger piece of leather with the "H" perforation. There was also what looked like slight puckering in the leather near the side.

I tried flipping the bag over and you could see this crumpling on the other side, too, even if there is an external pocket there and there are two pieces of leather.

I've seen photos of large Evelynes where the bag is slightly stretched with age, especially if a badly fitted insert is used. This looks like a slight bulge before the edges of the bag, especially near the bottom. The bag I examined had this, but it also had the even more visible crumpling, stretching and puckering I describe.

The bag did not look horrible, but the crumpling was visible enough to be bothersome, especially given the bag's lighter color. I did not think the bag's leather would stretch back to normal and most of the crumpling would disappear with normal use and storage.

The reseller's sales associate sympathized and conceded the bag did not appear to have been well card for, and it's possible the owner put heavier, bulkier objects in the bag without a care. I even asked if she meant a watermelon, because this appears to be the only possible explanation. However, the SA explained they would not price the bag lower because the leather was considered pristine in the sense that it had no scuffs and scratches, despite the visible crumpling.

Apologies as I could not take photos but has anyone ever seen what I am trying to describe? Would you agree that if you are uncomfortable seeing what I described, you should not be buying such a bag except maybe with a very compelling discount? It is likely the previous owner put items too heavy and bulky in the bag and stretched the leather in odd ways, and you should listen if even the sales associate is conceding these are likely permanent and you should be comfortable with the bag as it currently looks if you are considering buying it?

I saw the old article below, and what I saw goes beyond the Clemence slouching and the slight veining demonstrated in the photos: https://www.purseblog.com/hermes/overrated-or-underrated-hermes-leathers/

Anyone else have similar experiences with stretched, crumpled, or badly cared for large, soft bags in Clemence leather, and the Evelyne 33 or 40 leads this description?
I would love to see photos. I do stuff my Evelynes — my 29 is my default camera bag, and I have some large lenses. It does stretch out the leather. I am also not trying to keep it pristine and I am not interested in reselling it. Every time I get a new Evelyne, it looks so much more pristine than my other, heavily used ones!

What you are describing is quite unique. I assume someone had something oddly shaped in the bag and it caused the leather to stretch. It will not de-stretch. Once it is stretched, this is it. Unless the price is particularly attractive (and this one doesn’t sound like it is) and you want a beater bag, I would stay away.
