New Speedy B with Matching Shiny Hardware

The photos don’t really do it justice but I love the new hardware. I also didn’t have a matching strap so I feel justified lol. I will give credit to the older 2018 style as it is rich warm chocolate brown and the shiny leather is gorgeous. If I had no issues with my strap - I’d have a harder time justifying the upgrade. Leaving this here for anyone who is curious when they go shopping.

Pochette Metis Lock Issue?

Yes, it gets so much easier when it's not empty.
Both of my Metis need some counter-pressure. But I can say this for a lot of bag closures.
I noticed that even if it’s full, I need to push down at a specific angle to close it shut. I can’t push directly straight down to hear the “click” if that makes sense…

I’ve never had this issue with my previous PM from 2018, empty or full.

Trench Mini Lindy

What colours are already in your wardrobe. Trench is a (yellow) beige, it will probably suit you if that coordinates with clothes you already have. I think we all already know our worst colours (mine are grey-lilac, icey blue-pink and milky-taupe and some other dusky colours). I'm fairly neutral, it's more the very 'cool-toned' people that will have a clash. Obviously enough given the name, if you can wear a beige trench coat, you can definitely wear a bag of a similar colour nowhere near your face, if you can only wear a coat that's black or ice white then probably think twice.

As for the size, shape is more important than weight. I wouldn't look good with a mini (US 4-6) but I have a more athletic frame, any hourglass beauty would look fine - 00-over-20.

My reservation would be how much longer will minis still look current (if that's a consideration - it's not for many) and what's (literally) the use? I'd personally prefer a 26, still small but practical.

Watches: Quartz vs Mechanical vs Automatic (quick cheat sheet)

Hello all, this is nothing new to watch lovers but I see mechanical and automatic used interchangeably as if they were the same and sorry, I just had to scratch an itch. :P

Taken straight from Google AI:

A watch movement, also known as a calibre, is the internal mechanism that powers a watch and enables it to tell time. It's the "engine" of the watch, responsible for moving the hands and powering any additional features like chronographs or calendars.
There are three main types of watch movements: mechanical, automatic, and quartz.

  • Mechanical Movements:
These rely on a mainspring, which is wound either manually (by the user) or automatically (by the movement of the wearer's wrist). They use a series of gears and springs to regulate the release of energy, driving the hands and other complications.
    • Automatic Movements:

A type of mechanical movement that utilizes a rotor (a weighted wheel) to wind the mainspring when the watch is worn. The motion of the wrist causes the rotor to rotate, which then winds the mainspring.

  • Quartz Movements:
These use a battery to power the watch, and a quartz crystal to regulate the movement. The battery sends an electrical current through the crystal, causing it to vibrate at a precise frequency, which then drives the hands and other functions.
Key Differences:

Power Source: Mechanical and automatic movements use a mainspring, while quartz movements use a battery.
Maintenance: Mechanical movements require winding, either manually or automatically, and may require occasional servicing. Quartz movements are typically more low-maintenance, as they only require battery replacements.
Accuracy: Quartz movements are generally more accurate than mechanical movements, as they rely on the precise frequency of a quartz crystal.
Price: Mechanical and automatic movements are generally more expensive than quartz movements, due to their complexity and the craftsmanship involved in their construction.

Feel free to add on anything else you find informative/helpful. Or if there's something wrong, please give an update. Thank you.
Thank you for this! Hearing mechanical and automatic used interchangeably (usually in watch review videos on YT) is also a pet peeve of mine LOL! 😇 While I get that automatic watches are technically a type of mechanical, there is still an important distinction there. Of course, not everyone is into watches or cares about the different movement types and many buy simply due to aesthetics, popularity, etc. But I still think it’s a good idea to do some research and at least have a basic understanding of the different movement types (and which is best-suited for your particular lifestyle) especially when making a luxury watch purchase. Just my two cents! 💙

I need help. My first purchase from cartier. I don't know which of the three to choose.

I have the Clash ring, the Panthère watch, and several other Cartier bracelets. If I were starting from scratch, I’d 100% go for a bracelet first. It’s my favorite jewelry category because:

1. You can actually see and enjoy it—unlike earrings or necklaces.

2. Bracelets are both comfortable and practical. I can wear them during sports, swimming, or doing dishes—unlike watches, which can get damaged, or rings, which can slip off.

3. They have more visual presence and really elevate an outfit.

4. Bracelets are more elegant and versatile—they work just as well with leggings as they do with a dress for a night out, whereas a watch doesn’t add much in that setting.

5. Stacking bracelets allows for a lot of creativity. You can mix styles, metals, or add just one standout piece, it's easy to change the vibe without overthinking it. I personally do not like to stack anything with a watch or stacking rings.
Totally agree with this!
