Diane Bag

What does everyone think of their Diane bag in terms of wear and tear and quality? I have a monogram canvas bandouliere I’d wear with it instead of the guitar strap though. I saw one preloved for $1800 without the guitar strap and thinking of getting it. I like that the leather is pretreated.
There is a thread about the Diane :

I also reported there my experiences with the Diane.

Is it silly to buy a Mon Mono if I already have a mono?

I think the 35 is too big! I’m 5’4 and had a mon monogram 35 that I used for a little bit when my son was a baby. I ended up selling it to Fashionphile and they gave me a decent price-(I was surprised because it had my initials!) I liked how much it held but it looked overwhelming on me. If I was in your position, I would either let go of your original Speedy & order the mon monogram. Or get a different bag or size Speedy (25? Or an On the Go?) The Mon monogram is special though, and the new designs are so fun to play with! I just ordered an Alma BB with stripes, initials & a cute “patch”. I can’t wait for it to come 😊

Jumbo classic flap vs 2.55 in beige caviar medium double flap

OK, I happed to came across your another post when looking at Chanel forum, saw you bought that Chanel reissue in quilted caviar and it's a peach / brown color, and looks like 226 or 227.

I would have to say, that's not a good trade, and if your single flap jumbo is in quilted caviar and in black, that would be a terrible trade.
Its single flap though.and really old.it was just too big for me

Pochette Valley

I picked it up today and it’s very cute and spacious. It fits my iPhone 15pro, Victorine wallet, keys and AirPods. It’s so soft. The made in tag is sewn in the bag crooked but since it’s on the inside I’m willing to over look that even though that should not be!

Cartier SLG questions?

Thanks. 😊 since I have asked it to notify me it’s notified me 3 times that the item is available for purchase. When I go the site it shows not available. Any idea on this ?
You should call a boutique and inquire what you want. The online site is not that reliable. An SA would find and tell you if the product is still in production or not.

Is this the infamous sueded caviar?

You are both right.

The thing is I thought I wanted a 226 grey anniversary but trying on this grubby 225 caviar really made me fall in love with the 225 size and also the caviar material. I could smush it without any care which I can’t with my distressed calf 226.

It’s already hard enough to find a 226 in my country. Most are 227s. 225s are so difficult to find for a reasonable price, I’ve never seen a 225 anniversary on the secondary market.

There is one 225 green calfskin chevron available in very good condition for about 2700 usd. Is that a reasonable price?

Any recourse for misdescribed leather?

Reporting back, the replacement bag arrived and it's perfect. Wore it out a few times and the grained leather is not coming off. I would really recommend the Heloise style! I bought the cross body attachment (only negative is that I think it should come with the purse by default, not at extra cost) and this bag is SUPER comfortable and carries a ton. Even with a whole bunch of stuff in it, the bag still looks pretty and feels very light. It's fun to switch between the cross body and shoulder straps. If you want to go incognito, you can flip it around so that the CC logo isn't showing. The zipper on top keeps everything secure. Definitely a great bag by Celine.
How fantastic I hope you continue to love your bag for a long time!

Are Valentino Bags Durable?

These two are bags of very different styles. The Rockstud (Spike) crossbody is a carried over model from the previous designer, Pierpaolo Piccioli, and the top handle is from the current designer Alessandro Michele

The volume of these two bags are very different, with one being a camera bag (more casual) with limited capacity. The top handle (more formal) will be the one which can carry more

There’s no absolute conclusion on which bag is going to be better than the other, I think it depends on which style you are going for, what your lifestyle is, what do you want the bag for, and what bags do you have in your current collection

Fact wise, the Rockstud line, even though it’s not in vogue now, it’s still a money spinner for the label, whereas in the current markdown, the chain flap bag version of the top handle (with the same quilt pattern, the Quiltie 67) is already going for a 40% discount

As for longevity in terms of how long both designs will stay current for, no one can make a promise on this as Valentino is not known to have a “classic/permanent” line like the Chanel Classic Flap or the LV Speedy, but the designs of the two bags in your consideration are considered “classic” enough for you to enjoy for years to come, as with a majority of other Valentino bags

When it comes to the material, I can’t really tell what is the leather being used on the crossbody but I would say take a look on resale sites and see how the used bags look and you can decide if you like them (as far as I know, only 2 types of leather, aged calfskin, and soft nappa, are being used for the Rockstud Spike line). As for the top handle, I am not too familiar with the new designs. Durability wise, some models of Valentino bags, such as the Alcove line, or bags with rigid structure (the Loco, Supervee) can look as good as brand new after a few years if you take care of it well, whereas some leather that Valentino uses, such as the smooth calfskin used on the original Rockstud satchel, can aged pretty badly, especially when the bag is soft and squishy

Hope all these info help and welcome to the Valentino family!!

Is it a good time to sell VCA Alhambra pave earrings now?

I would hold onto them for now because this pair is so classic, beautiful and versatile, you never know down the road, you may like them very much even though you don't reach for them now.

Also a few years back I bought my perlee clover bangle in size XS and I didn't get the chance to try S, so right away I had buyers remorse, thought I should have waited to try the size S to make the decision. I got a quote from Fashionfil with 30% discount (your quote is about $30% discount). I couldn't swallow the loss with the brand new bangle. so I posted in this forum asking opinions, thanks to many TPFmers' help (to name a few @EpiFanatic @nicole0612 @eternallove4bag thank you!!!) and they shared their mod shots and opinions. I found out that's the right size, kept it and love it. I would have really really regretted if I had sold it.
