What is the perfect bag to carry as a business professional?

Do you have a picture of the business flap?
This was introduced >10 years ago and at a very friendly price. There might be some pristine ones listed on the resale market. I favour this over Jumbo as it is casual and roomy (fits a Surface device)

When picking up your quota bag do you usually know what it is beforehand or is it a surprise?

TL;DR: For both of my bags, I knew exact specs in advance (purchased from the same SA), but how I came to know them were different from bag purchase to bag purchase. For more details, read on!

A little bit of background for context. My home store is a five-hour plane ride away. I purchase in store one to two times per year. I buy the occasional smaller ticket item between visits from other stores when on vacation, or online if I see something I have to have. My SA has ordered a handful of items for me, either by sourcing them from another boutique or by placing an online order at the end of my appointment. I generally don’t purchase from her between visits. I send her a list in advance of my appointments, noting that I understand stock may not be available and encouraging her to select other items she thinks I might like. She has said she likes my approach and has even helped me find a last-minute add to my shopping list at a different boutique in the same city, letting me know it was fine to just stop in and purchase the item from an SA at that boutique.

I am up front about bag requests. I do not seek the purchase limit year after year, but when I want a bag, I am serious about it. For the first bag, I asked in person during ann appointment. She took some specs and said she would get back to me; however, there were no bags for me that trip. This gave me time to do some extra research and what I really wanted was not what I asked for the first time around, so I consider the delay in my favor. I sent her a list in advance of my next visit and, at the end of that message, reminded her of my bag wish. I was specific about B30 Togo PHW and let her know that. I sent a list of colors I liked and said I wanted something “along those lines”. She let me know in advance a B30 Togo Etain PHW had come in and that I had been approved for it. Etain was on my list, so I was thrilled! That was 3.5 years ago.

This summer I was ready to add a second bag. I wanted a lighter color, but still preferred B30 Togo PHW, so sent her a list of colors to give her an idea of what I was looking for. She brought up my bag wish near the end of my appointment. She didn’t have anything that came close to what I requested, but shared with me what was available in a B30. Unfortunately no combo made my heart sing. She asked if I had considered a B35, B25, or even a K28, offering to let me try on sample bags so I could get a sense of proportion. We ran through several options and I found a combination I liked, even though half the specs were not what I originally asked for. The boutique was not allowing same-day purchases, so she said now we keep our fingers crossed and wait to see if the SM approves. B25 is popular and my spend is only OK (maybe an average of $5K per visit; I really don’t keep track), so I was nervous. She let me know I was approved and I loved it when I saw it, so took it home.

Purchased on ebay. Need help!

The seller has a receipt but did she originally purchase it? Receipts can be faked.

I'd ask the seller to cover the cost of authentication. Or, at least contribute 50% towards it, especially considering it's her mistake that she didn't enrol in their programme before listing the bag.

The main thing, though, is that both the seller and eBay have confirmed you can return with no problem. eBay's buyer protection is really good.

Exactly! The receipt could be totally fake. I hate making people think I think they might be scamming me LOL. But its too much money to spend without actually knowing if its real or not.

Yes, thats true. It is the sellers mistake they didnt enroll in authentication program so by rights they should pay for authentication or some of it. I should have looked into it more though. I just asked if ebay would ****************** and seller said yes and I bought it. I wish I would have noticed the listing didnt say anything about that on it and then I could have told seller and they could have changed it before I bought it. Oh well lesson learned.

Wobbling

I tried on the rockstud heels today and so badly wanted them to feel comfortable but my foot was wobbling. Then, I tried on the shorter VLOGO Signature Toe Pointed Pump in the smaller height.

Does anyone have this same issue with Valentino pumps that your foot wobbles? I have Sam Edelman pumps that are 4 inches and do not have this issue.

NEW: Hinged regular LOVE bracelet

Personally I love the screw mechanism with quarter turn and the satisfying click sound. I appreciate how easy the bracelet is to remove. However, I do not love the hinge gap on the other side.. perhaps an unavoidable design element but not great in my opinion.
I noticed the hinge gap, but this does not bother me. You have to have the working screw on the inside to be able to remove it yourself, so it’s really hard to see the gap.

How do you travel with your pieces?

If you have a good relationship with your T&Co SA (explain to your SA exactly what you stated in your first post!) you can try asking for a “soft” necklace case. They fold over, and have clips to hold the necklace together. Similar to the VCA one I believe. When I purchased my 20” sprinkle/dbty necklace, it was placed in this instead of a jewelry box.

Hermès chief eyes haute couture push as Paris house rides out luxury gloom

Hermès takes on Chanel and Dior in the high fashion market

The French luxury brand is a candidate for the Haute Couture Week calendar. More than two-thirds of its business is already in apparel.

Hermès has applied to participate in Haute Couture Week, held twice a year in Paris, in January and July. The French luxury brand has made plans to enter the high fashion market "by 2026-2027," said Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermès International, at the presentation of its annual results on Friday, February 14.

The executive told us that the idea took shape within the Parisian fashion house following the interview he gave to the Financial Times in September 2024. Asked how the group had been diversifying − without, however, tackling the sunglasses or hotel markets, unlike its rivals Kering and LVMH − the Hermès International CEO replied: "We could do couture." Since then, the idea has gained ground internally. "We said to ourselves: Basically, why not?" said Dumas.

By entering into high-fashion design, selling made-to-measure items to exclusive customers, the brand known for its leather goods is expected to boost its fashion sales. Hermès has already become a heavyweight in the clothing sector. Its ready-to-wear line, ties and other textile products generated sales of 5.3 billion euros worldwide in 2024, or 35% of its 15.1 billion euros in total sales. The brand offers clothing for both men and women, thanks to collections designed by Véronique Nichanian for over 35 years, and by Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski. The latter, who has been artistic director for the women's wardrobe since 2014, will create the high-fashion designs. Manufacturing will be handled by her production workshop.

Guest brand

The fashion house will take its first steps at the Paris haute couture weeks as a guest brand, before joining the official calendar of member houses of the Chambre syndicale de haute couture, which includes Chanel, Dior and nine other brands.

"For the Paris marketplace, it's fantastic," said Pascal Morand, executive president of the Fédération de la haute couture et de la mode, by way of reaction. For Haute Couture Week would be gaining a star of the luxury market, whose shows will be closely followed by the media and picked up by millions of Instagram and TikTok followers. "In January 2024, the four days of Haute Couture Week generated media coverage equivalent to more than 202 million euros in advertising," Morand said, underlining "the powerful ............

Help me decide: Cartier love studs or Hermes Farandole studs?

I’d get the Cartier ones for one big reason: they are round and it won’t matter if they turn on your ears. The oval shape of the others would drive me batty if it were turning and I’d feel like I always needed to check.

Here’s one other option:

Another vote for Love for the same reason.

Also, the Sloan earrings are gorgeous. I love the simplicity and elegance.

Cashmere long coat

Bit of a late reply but I recently forayed into Burberry cashmere and I’m loving it! It’s absolutely butter-soft and so so so warm. I bought a short coat and loved it so much went back and bought a longer trench. I find Burberry cuts extremely flattering on my (US4/UK8, 5’3”ish, hourglass) figure. I do tend to size down a size for their relaxed fit garments however.
