Hunting for hobos

Hi Purseforum friends,
I’m searching for the perfect LV hobo in monogram. I love the look of the new Slouchy bag, but not the price tag. I want to get a preloved hobo that has enough of a strap drop to fit over the sleeve of a winter coat. So far I’ve come across the Sully, Graceful and Berri. I’m more petite and would like a roomy, everyday bag that’s not as large as the Neverfull. Does anyone carry any of the above on the daily that you would recommend? TIA!

Philly Store - Theft Ring - Sold Hot Goods on Ebay

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Two cousins have now been charged in what prosecutors call a conspiracy to sell stolen items out of three pawn shops the pair ran.

Authorities say Larry and Nathaniel Leonard, both of Philadelphia, knowingly bought huge quantities of merchandise stolen from big box stores and then sold them to the tune of millions of dollars.

The U.S. Attorney's Office is also alleging a money laundering scheme connected to the fraud.

The Action Cam was on the scene on December 14, 2023, when federal agents with Homeland Security raided Society Hill Loan on South Street. We saw them carry out box after box marked evidence and stack them in this box truck…

Satin Silk bag organizers. Bye bye felt!

Apologies if these were mentioned somewhere else already.

I stumbled upon bag organizers on Amazon (not cheap) a bit more expensive than the felt ones from Samorga, Zoomoni etc. But they are made exceptionally well and I wanted to share! I got one for classic flap medium and one for my small 19 bag. They are sewn impeccably much more so than the felt ones and are made of silk satin. Inside is great too three pouches on one side and two on the other (and the 19 bag also has one at each end for lipsticks etc). They take much less space in the bag so you can fit more and they keep with the luxury feel of the bag. I will only get these now not the felt ones!

The brand is kind of an off brand DGAZ? Anyway you can find them on Amazon if interested!

Regrets on a limited edition?

Hi everyone,
So I got a Limited edition set of pietersite from my lovely SA. Now 2 months later, when I actually opened the boxes, I realized that the stones on the bracelet are not as bright as the necklace. They are somehow too dark looking almost like onyx versus the 20 motifs that have very beautiful stones.
I accepted the offer on the spot as it was very mesmerizing but just realized now that I don't much like 4 stones of the bracelet.

-How would you bring the topic up to the SA? I have not worn them yet, they're brand new. I understand they can change the stones on the 5 motifs, however, isn't it a waste of money to have the brand-new stones changed? Not even sure if the new stones would look better? What would you do if you were in my position? I don't know how to bring it up to my SA... any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks for your input!

Chanel 2.55 mini (nonaged leather)

Nonaged calfskin vs. classic aged calfskin

Hello!

I’ve been eyeing the 2.55 mini for a while and it finally came in to my local boutique. I purchased it but am torn whether I should keep this season’s nonaged calfskin or wait for the classic aged calfskin to come in. I’ve seen the aged calfskin before and am a little torn. The wrinkled leather is a beautiful classic look for the 2.55 but at the same time it looks a little too aged/distressed?

The cleaner leather is appealing but I am unsure if it lacks character because it lacks texture. I hate to say this but I feel like it almost looks like an imitation Chanel bag but maybe that’s just me. I’d love some thoughts. Thank you! IMG_4752.jpeg

Florentine satchel issue

I bought this florentine satchel from ILoveDooney and it does not look right. Just wanted to make sure I'm not going crazy. Especially not having a leather strip under the feet.

Dauphine East West?

Hi! I have read posts in the Dauphine Club but didn't notice if there was East West mentioned in there. Does anyone have it by chance? if so, do you like it? Do the flaps curl up like I have read the Dauphine does sometimes? Trying to research bags... I dont have the luxury of buying them frequently, so trying to do some research for my next purchase. Thank you!

advice for a Cartier piece

Hello, I am not too sure which one to buy, I have only bought the classic love ring from Cartier and I have a Van Cleef onyx bracelet that I stack with a diamond tennis bracelet. I was thinking of a necklace since I just got bracelets but those bracelets I cant wear everyday 24/7. Options:
- love neckalace, half paved interlocking
- love necklace, 3 diamond
-medium love bracelet

Chanel Rehab in LA?

Hi Chanel Lovers,

I just bought a vintage Chanel medium single flap in lambskin (yay!) and I'd love a recommendation for somewhere, ideally in Los Angeles, that I can get the bag rehabbed. She's in pretty good condition, but shape has relaxed due to wear and there are some scratches. Would love any and all recommendations. If there's some other sort of mail in service that is great, please also let me know. My understanding is that Chanel itself will not rehab vintage bags.

Thank you!

Just Looking! Beauty for free :-)

It's almost Christmas. If money was no object there are some beautiful bags out there to buy, but prices for bags have never been crazier (IMHO) 'cost-per-wear' would take us to the next millennium, and some lovely bags are just not going to be worth it.

Let's have a thread where we can admire all the beautiful bags around and it doesn't cost a penny/cent.

Please nominate a bag you'd buy if it weren't so ridiculously priced.

I nominate this beautiful Valentino bag. At over $8K, If it were around £3K I might have been tempted to check it out IRL, but the price doesn't make sense, I don't care if it's handwoven by Christmas fairies. I've seen amazing handcrafted textiles that are very cost-effective, so I'll admire from afar. You and I know this may turn-up preloved as a bargain.

K25 Box vs K28 Togo

I know the title is crazy, but please help me out!

I’ve wanted a black box kelly sellier 25 in PHW for a long while now, and I absolutely know how rare they are to find. I wasn’t interested in the Hermes game- too much negotiating, too much time- but even so, it took me a year to find an available piece. I finally did! And it was at or just below market price as well. I couldn’t believe it, and reserved the Kelly with the seller immediately.

That being said, I’m hesitating. As I was searching for the box Kelly, I bought a beat up Kelly 28 retourne in Togo a while ago, also black. And I hate to say it… but I just love how slouchy and understated it is. It feels like a bag I can throw around and fit easily into my life— family meetings, cocktail hour, shopping, etc.

The problem now: I can’t possibly keep both. They’re too similar in specs! And I love variety in my collection (one bag per designer and so on.) But the box Kelly is so rare and beautiful and hard-won, I’m worried I’ll just never use her. She’s dressed up; professional. Whereas my current Kelly 28 is well-used, with history and character, and I really do USE my bags.

How can I choose? Any advice for a new Hermes owner would be appreciated!

Frivole Pendant...which one?

Which Frivole Pendant?

  • Large Frivole Pave

    Votes: 30 65.2%
  • Small Frivole Pave

    Votes: 9 19.6%
  • Large Frivole Plain

    Votes: 7 15.2%

I will be visiting my VCA boutique in another city this weekend. I told him initially I am looking for a large Pave YG, and as luck would have it, they have it in stock so I paid (refundable) to hold it for me.

I played around with my small Pave Yg Frivole earring on a chain to get a sense of how that would look, and tried to do the same with the larger half of my BTF ring.

I had originally thought the large, as I have the Pave VA Pendant (YG) and the small Pave seemed to close in size. Alternative would be the plain large pendant!

Yikes sorry for the ginormous photos....
