Does Van cleef accepts split payment??

It looks like the answer is NO for online purchase and I'm planning on ordering from SA from a different state.

Last time, I paid in full, but I'm about to pull a trigger on 20k , and I'd much prefer if I can split that ro 2 different credit cards. .. perhaps put the 'deposit' in one card, and pay in full with the other? Does it not work at all unless it's in person ?

My NWT Kooba Aubrey in Almond

Some of you may know that I recently became interested in Kooba Bags, long after they were no longer being made.

I've just purchased this NWT Kooba Aubrey Bag in Almond on Poshmark. The listing didn't include many photos or details but I made an offer of $42 and it was accepted.

I was pleased with the bag when I received it, the leather was soft, the bag was well-made, and it came with the original tags! It was wrinkled and seemed a little dry in some areas, like along the edging, but it was an easy process to restore the bag to its former beauty.

I stuffed it with towels and steamed it to reshape the bag and remove the wrinkles, then I treated it with Leather CPR to moisturize the leather, and the black nickel hardware only needed buffing with a soft clorth, and I am very happy with the results.

Here are After photos of my NWT Kooba Aubrey in Almond. The Style number is KF13445-42 and the color is Almond #907 and it retailed for $498. I think that it was released in 2014 because that is the earliest reference that I find for the bag. How do you like my new-to-me Aubrey bag?

Persuade me about my vintage heirloom fur jacket…

Hello all,

I’m looking for some advice on whether I should keep my vintage Lynx fur jacket.

I had never considered wearing a fur coat but I inherited one from my lovely mother-in-law after she passed. Initially I tried selling it, but I realized that the resale market on furs is lacking, meaning there is little interest (at least in my research and experience) and you cannot remotely get the value of fur back. In this case, it’s a $6000 jacket, and I had trouble getting interest below even $1K.

So I decided to start wearing it. And I enjoyed it because it reminded me of my mother-in-law, a connection to her. Admittedly, it is also a beautiful jacket and fits me like a glove.

I know fur is controversal. I am an animal lover so that also complicates my feelings on this jacket. I enjoy it very much for the reasons mentioned, but in the back of my mind is the thought of the animals.

My argument in favour of the jacket: it’s vintage, it’s not directly supporting the new fur industry, it’s a memento and heirloom, it’s already DONE. In my mind, it’s a crime to not have at least someone make use of it rather than the animals dying in vain (in this case, they would have been caught in the wild, not farmed). One can argue that it’s not entirely different from eating meat, and wearing silk and leather products. Heck, every third person in Canada right now is wearing real fur trim on their hats and hoods (including me) and nobody raises an eyebrow.

But once it’s a full fur coat/jacket, it does raise eyebrows. I think because it’s so blatant a display of making use of animal products. Now, I’m not a vegan and don’t intend on becoming one. But before I bought my own fur-trimmed parka filled with down, I did a lot of research on the brand to ensure that the down was from the food industry, and the fur “humanely” sourced. I’m OK with my parka. It’s just the beautiful lynx jacket I can’t decide on.

It doesn’t help that, while wearing it recently and feeling half good and half bad about it, some friends made some pretty off-colour jokes about the lynx jacket. AKA “is the lynx cold?” That was the first and only time I wore it this season.

So my option is to keep the jacket and enjoy it as a vintage family heirloom that I love in many ways, or sell it to someone else for a low amount. Coincidentally, I do have something I want to buy that the jacket could help fund, as well, if I were able to get close to $1K.

Is my juste un clou ring supposed to fit like this?

Hi all,

I normally do not wear rings and recently got my juc. I noticed a gap between where the head of my ring is and the band part. When I’m cold it can be shaken off my hand. When I’m warm, it can still come off easily. I got a size 53. I tried on 52 in store, but slight discomfort from the head digging in.

Age appropriate bag after retirement…..feedback

I’ve been pouring over most of the designer offerings and can’t make a decision to treat myself. So I am hoping a few purse aficionados will make some suggestions. I know age is just a number but at 65 years I no longer need to follow trends and since I am retired “ a work bag to fit a laptop” is not it. I could list the styles I like however I may be limiting my options. So here are some criteria: I live in Florida so lightweight ( leather) top handle with a single strap long enough to go over shoulder. Or Top handle only. I’m 5’8” and plus-size so no mini/small. Budget? $4000 max!! Thanks

VCA EMPTY BOX RECEIVED :(

Hi everyone. I ordered an alhambra necklace and it was delivered today. I opened it up and everything seemed fine (packaging, certificate, invoice, etc), until I opened the green jewellery box inside and it was empty. UPS package didn't seem tampered with. I've contacted van cleef and they said they're conducting an investigation but the situation is stressing me out. Thankfully I filmed an unboxing video so I have evidence that the box was empty when I opened it. Does van cleef film their packing process? I am thinking that they forgot to put the necklace into the green box since everything was wrapped & ribboned properly. I am hoping they are able to find a video of this process and find out where the mistake occurred. If anyone has info on this that can ease my mind, I'd really appreciate it!

Protective feet

I received my Louis Vuitton bag for Christmas this year and the first thing I did was tip it upside down, to look for the feet, as I do with all the bags I purchase. I found it very odd that Louis Vuitton did not put those protective feet on my signature bag. In my opinion, the protective feet on the bottom of all designer bags, should be a staple part and absolutely necessary. I would rather have my purse sit on the feet, rather than the floor. Thank you for your time, Rhonda Kupstas

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated TL;DR

Back in December, I purchased a pre-owned Dior Samourai from a seller on Instagram who also has a physical shop in Massachusetts. She specializes in pre-owned luxury and designer resale and had a lot of beautiful things, most of which seem to be featured on her IG page. Before purchasing, I did a Google search and came up with newspaper articles about her business and her partnership with another reseller, her community activities, and of course, her website, which sells recycled items. So she seemed to be legit. She described the bag as in "very good conditions, very clean inside and outside." From the limited photos there were, the bag looked good, but in hindsight, I should have asked for more photos. There were some issues at the outset with shipping paperwork and methods, and some claims she made which left me feeling like she wasn't being truthful with me. I told her to cancel the sale and give me a refund. She did not and said she would figure things out. I opened a Paypal claim, and decided to keep it open until she canceled the sale or shipped the item.

When the package arrived, I filmed the unboxing, and the bag was CLEARLY not in the "very good conditions" that she described. It was heavily used, it was misshapen and warped in some places, there was dirt, scratches and discoloration on the leather. I don't know if she put filters or photoshopped the photos on her IG page, but the condition of this bag was misrepresented and not acceptable to me. I sent her a message expressing my disappointment, telling her the condition of the bag was not acceptable and I would be sending it back for a refund in accordance with the refund terms on her website. She promptly blocked me, without any reply or discussion. I escalated my Paypal claim, took photos of the bag, and then filmed the boxing up of it/sealing the box to ship back to her. I sent it Priority Registered post, which requires a signature (I'm in Europe) and photographed the processing at the post office for shipping. I sent all of these photos I took, the photos of the bag as it was advertised on her IG page, the postal receipts, testimonial of the events and screenshots of our exchanges and even the blank page on IG when she blocked me. When the item was delivered, I provided the delivery confirmation to them as well. I'm not sure that PP even has human beings working on these dispute resolutions, because they requested multiple times for me to get an assessment from a third-party on the condition of the bag, and each time I responded that the item was no longer in my possession as it had already been shipped back. I also asked why my assessment wasn't acceptable to them when I as the customer am the one who decides if an item is acceptable to me or not. I did endeavor to try with one authenticator using the photos, but they said they didn't provide those services. Anyway, Paypal denied my claim, which to me was outrageous, in light of all the evidence I provided. Since there was NO transparency from their side, I have NO idea what she was telling them and how or why her claims were more compelling than mine. So much for buyer protection. I filed an appeal, and that was denied. I got the impression at some point, when they kept asking me for proof of delivery, that perhaps the seller was claiming she never got the package. When I chatted an agent and sent them the delivery confirmation, he made the note that is in the attached screenshot with comments from the seller. Nice!

I opened a chargeback with my bank, and also filed claims against Paypal with the Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and California Attorney General's office. I also wrote to several Congressional legislators to ask if they could intervene. At some point, Paypal reopened the case and said they will investigate further, so these efforts had some impact. I also filed a claim against the seller with the FTC, BBB and the Massachusetts Attorney General's office consumer complaints, which asked for more documentation.

My bank came back to me the other day with the seller's objections, in which she stated a number of lies, first claiming this item's market price was $6500, but it was on markdown and final sale and no returns are accepted and that the stated refund policy on her website is not applicable to the items she sells in her physical store. There was NO mention made or any indication anywhere that this had been priced higher and was on markdown or final sale and that no refund was possible. There was nothing written in her listing nor on her Instagram page, nor on the receipt, nor on the website, nor in any exchanges I had with her. Normally sellers will clearly state No Returns, All Sales Final, etc. There was none of that here. I would never have purchased anything from her if there was a clearly stated policy or any indication that all sales were final. Furthermore, on her IG page, she has links to her website her shop's physical address. Thus, her physical shop, her IG page and website are all inextricably linked.

She also claimed NO reseller or secondhand shop on the planet allows refunds. Not true. There are several that do, and I cited at least three examples in my response to the bank, and shared screenshots of their policies. I also provided links to sites that have sold this same bag and none of them were selling for $6500. When this bag came out in 2007, it wasn't even that much. It's true, I have seen a couple of these bags selling for higher prices, but they were both listed as vintage collectibles and in pristine condition, not heavily used like the one she sold me.

But one of the most egregious statements she made to my credit provider was that she's more than happy to offer an exchange, store credit or to consign the item. She wrote "Please return the item to me if the buyer agrees to consign or get store credit." Errrr.....the delivery confirmation states otherwise: that the item was delivered to her several weeks ago. This is another outright lie from her side. But just for good measure, I have asked both the USPS and my country's postal service now to look into this matter further and find out who signed for it, because with Registered post, there is always a signature required. So this is apparently what she keeps claiming; that she never received the item. The item was shipped to her shop. She had my email address. She could easily have contacted me and said she never received anything and even offered the options to exchange, credit or consign. My bank asked what my position is on that and I told them not acceptable and that the only acceptable resolution is a full refund. I will not do another lick of business with this unscrupulous liar.

I submitted a rebuttal to my bank, but am now unsure if they will refund me. How much more proof do I need that I returned her item to her? The next step would be to file a police report and a small claims court action. I paid a lot of money for this item $1600+ exchange fees. I've also left negative feedback for her at Trustpilot, Sitejabber and Yelp. I'm out of ideas and don't know what else to do. Thanks for reading.

California Stores

Since all California stores seem to be experiencing new restrictions that have affected their ability to offer special orders (i.e. “SO”/a la carte) and sell furniture, and since there is a lot of customer confusion around what is going on right now with California store offerings and many customers are not comfortable sharing which specific stores they shop at for privacy reasons, I figured it could be a good idea to have a general thread to discuss information we learn about California store restrictions and offerings so we can help each other without needing to share exact boutiques we shop at.

Starting charm necklace collection

Looking to start charm collection with my 8 year old daughter. I thought it would be really fun memories for us. I am looking at several chain link necklaces. Annoushka, Foundrae, Jennifer Fisher kind of chain necklaces. Any advices would be appreciated. Would love these to be my daily necklace - she is already wearing gold chain from her birth gift collection. I am looking for one for myself.
