Mini tank or TT panthere

Hi all,

371D1ED7-15D0-4680-8913-3CC5F56DAB0B.webpLooking for some advice to help me make a decision on these two watches mini tank vs. small two tone panthere

Some background I’m a mom of two small boys and looking for something I can wear everyday (grocery/daycare pickup). The other watch I have at home is a Rolex lady date just two tone (passed down from my mom) but I don’t wear it because it has an aftermarket diamond bezel that’s too flashy for me!

Pre-owned Jumbo or new Boy bag - HELP me decide

Being an extremely indecisive person, I need help deciding—or at least hearing some different opinions.

I currently only have a rectangular mini in black lambskin. It's lovely but extremely delicate. I've been wanting to get a bag in calfskin so I can use it more on a daily basis. Right now, I’m torn between the Small Boy Bag with silver brushed hardware or the Jumbo with silver hardware.

I can buy the Boy Bag new from the store or buy the Jumbo pre-owned for $5,000 USD. What attracts me to the Boy is that I can get it in-store, and it will be brand new. I love both bags and have always wanted a Boy Bag (I don’t care if it’s “out of style”); it’s cute and looks great worn crossbody. The Jumbo, however, fits so much more and is practical as a day-to-day bag where you don’t have to worry about whether you can fit everything in. My dilemma arises because I also have the YSL Loulou in medium, and in the five years I’ve had it, I haven’t reached for it much. I’m afraid the Jumbo will end up in the same category.

Dooney and Bourke vs Strathberry

I just received my second Strathberry handbag. I think I have eighteen D&B handbags, but probably purchased 50 - 60 over the years. Many were gifted, donated, used in the D&B trade - in program or sold.

I used two black bags in the pic to show an Alto next to the Strathberry.

How do they stack up?

Strathberry wins by far IMO in quality leather, refined look, overall quality, interior is a glorious pale beige suede (+ slip pocket and zip pocket), fast shipping (arrived via free shipping from England), shipped the same day ordered and was here in two days, the packaging is a 10/10 with a lovely dust bag. The Customer Service is supposed to be tops.

The bad: they are expensive (at least for me). And they appear larger in the pics. Reviews state this frequently. The Alto Phillipa was about $700.00 and I purchased on sale. The most I spend on D&B is $400.00. The Strathberry midi tote was over $500.00. Strathberry has better sales, but the best ones are in June/July and November/December. I grabbed this at a higher price point because I wanted this trio of neutrals. Also, if you don't like the bag; there isn't anything wrong with it, the return shipping is (I believe) $30.00. If the problem is Strathberry---they pay the shipping.

Dooney has better sales and will continue to be the majority of my handbag collection. I tend to like some of the Dooney hardware better. Cons: I20250321_140001.webp would like to see Dooney shipping our purchases a little nicer. Sometimes I feel I hold my breath when I open a Dooney box.

The winner? For me it's a tie. I have one other Strathberry bag on my radar, but will hold out for a great sale this Summer or Black Friday. I have a preference for Strathberry over Aspinal of London. Strathberry is made in Spain. A of L in China.

I think Dooney will always be my main brand, but throwing in a few other styles rounds out the styles I am carrying.

Please note: I am new to Strathberry and all info my not be accurate.

Does Cartier jewelery hold its value?

Hello dear Cartier lovers, I have the following question: Have you already sold Cartier jewelry, especially bracelets like the Love bracelet or the Juste un Clou? How was the value retention when reselling? The reason for my question is that I would like to buy a Love bracelet and a Juste un Clou. So far, I have only owned designer bags, which have consistently increased in value over the past few years. Of course, this is not the main argument for purchasing, but I am also considering this aspect. I would love to hear about your experiences :)

New old Chloe

Just bought myself a pre-loved baby Paddy in black with contrast stitching. Just in time by the sounds of it as the Paddington will be making a comeback! I’ve wanted one of these (big or small) for quite a few years now. Couldn’t afford it when they first came out. So I’m so happy to have one now. She was in quite a bad shape when she arrived and I was quite disappointed. But I’ve been working on her and she looks a lot better now. I just love all the details and the leather feels indestructible. I must admit I’ve removed the padlock, find it quite annoying and heavy. IMG_5524.webpIMG_5525.webpIMG_5525.webpIMG_5526.webp

Sizing up jeans to create desired look/style

I have been looking for certain leg styles of jeans in my size and they were sold out, and I couldn’t size down.
I had the idea that if I size up certain jeans and wore a belt so they fit my waist properly, I could create the appearance of jeans looking like another leg style. I don’t know if anybody has tried to do this, but here are the results. Let me know if you think they look good or I should return the two pairs of jeans.

Gap high rise true skinny jeans.
Sizing up I tried to have them look like a thin bootcut.

Patina on new vachetta

Hi!

I noticed today that my vachetta strap for the Pochette Accessoires w/chain is not getting an even patina like the straps from my older PAs. See the picture, the top one is my newest and the underside doesn't seem to patina that much at all. It still looked brand new even though it's a couple of months old (the top has slight patina).

The older ones got an even patina from the beginning.

Is it something new with how the straps are made? Has anyone else experienced this?

White gold guilloche tarnish?

Hello I wanted to know more about the white gold guilloche jewelry line. I have been thinking about adding the necklace and bracelet, but upon searching reviews about it online I came across some comments that it can tarnish and that VCA's customer service is lacking. Since there aren't many complaints I assume it's a rare occurrence, however I wanted to get more feedback before making a decision. I have non designer 14/18/22 k gold and have never experienced tarnishing with any of those items.

Any Birkin 25 regrets?

Hi Everyone,

Long time lurker here so going straight to the point. Anyone have any regrets buying a Birkin25 especially at the Resale price? I feel I need to scratch that itch. Is it worth selling like say 5 -8x premium bags to get that elusive B25?

This time I don't want to go through the Store route as I've not been a client for a few years and I specifically want the bag in a certain colour.

The most used bags in my Hermes collection are my 2x bolides27 then the Pico and the Kelly 28 and 25,

My B35 and 30 haven't seen much light of day as I think they are too big for my style but I'm quite hesitant to sell them as they have sentimental value to me. But then I'm thinking it would make sense for me to let them go for a B25 which I think I would make financial sense.

I know there are worse problems than this but I just need some advice as I keep going round in circles over this.

Anyone out there who sold a bunch of lovely bags to get their Birkin? Any regrets?

Thank you x

Help deciding on preloved Caviar flap

Hi Tpfers... Been trying to decide for days on getting a preloved Jumbo Black Caviar GHW series 16. She's being sold by a reputable reseller whom I have purchased from before, holo is intact but no card. Has an entrupy.

Purse is approx. USD 4200 in 8.5/10 condition. Is this something you'd consider? I'm interested to keep for myself but also want the option to resell in the future. Thanks for any helpful advice!

Cartier authenticators?

Can anyone recommend Cartier authenticators? I’ve done a search of threads on here but can’t find anything

I’m trying to use legit grails but they keep rejecting this photo saying it’s not clear enough. I understand that it isn’t clear but these particular two hallmarks are incredibly feint and I have no way of getting a better photo. The second photo is a love bangle with the same hallmarks taken with a macro lense and still those two hallmarks are feint and unclear. So I don’t believe I can get a better photo. There seems to be language barrier when trying to speak to legit grails about it so it’s all proving very difficult! I’m hoping another authenticator might be a bit more understanding as my photos of the other hallmarks are all crystal clear

Thanks

Legitimate site? Lecrin ? but don’t think date stamp checks out so…..🙃

Is this site a legitimate Hermes seller.

https://www.lecrin.jp/en/en-lsk2000103.html most look authentic but My concern is this rose shocking Kelly 25 with a K stamp 90

Isn’t K recent whereas rose shocking is a 2007 color?

I want a bright pink Kelly and my hopes of getting from Hermes prior to summer are dwindling so trying resale

Thanks!

Félicité wedding band

Been thinking of getting an eternity band ring for stacking. Tried on the Félicité 2.1mm from Van Cleef. It shines so beautifully. I know Van cleef uses high quality diamonds but considering the drop of diamond prices, do you think this is still worth it? Current retail price is $7,850. Have you tried this piece before in the boutique? Thank you

Terrible Ferragamo Experience

I want to warn anyone considering Ferragamo: this brand is a disaster when it comes to quality and customer service.

I have been a loyal Ferragamo customer for over 10 years and used to love the brand. I trusted their craftsmanship and service, but something has changed—and not for the better. If this is how they treat a long-time, high-spending customer, imagine how they treat everyone else.

A few months ago, I purchased eight items in one day, spending thousands of dollars, believing I was investing in quality. Big mistake. Three of the shoes I bought had major manufacturing defects—stitching coming apart, glue visibly seeping out, and scratched leather.

I immediately contacted Ferragamo for a refund, as stated on my receipt for defective products. What followed was one of the worst customer service nightmares I’ve ever experienced:

• They refused to refund medespite their own policy.

• They made me jump through endless hoops—demanding pictures, emails, and inspections.

• Because I bought the shoes in Qatarbut live in Switzerland, they initially told me to fly back to Qatarjust to have them checked. Absurd for a so-called global luxury brand!

• Then they claimed they needed to send the shoes to Italy, delaying the process even further.

• After relentless follow-ups, the store in my country finally accepted them, but I still had to chase them constantly—sending multiple emails, photos, and reminders.

• Every time I called or emailed, I was passed to a different person who knew nothing about my case, forcing me to explain the entire situation over and over again.

• Staff were rude, dismissive, and condescendingthroughout the process.

I fought for a refund for over two months. Only when I escalated the issue to Ferragamo’s C-suitedid they immediately process my refund—but only one personout of the many I dealt with ever bothered to apologize.

This entire ordeal shows just how poorly managed and untrustworthyFerragamo has become. I keep hearing about their declining product quality, and honestly, it’s no surprise their stock price is tanking.

Luxury brands justify their insane prices by claiming to offer superior craftsmanship and service—but Ferragamo fails miserably at both.

If you’re thinking of buying from Ferragamo, don’t waste your money. There are many brands that actually stand behind their products and respect their customers.
