What styles can be ordered over the phone? (Yes with in store purchase record)

Background info: I’m in US and live 2.5 hours away from the nearest store/boutique.

I was told by my first SA that my wishlist items (a mini reissue and a square pearl crush) can be ordered through phone since he has my card info etc already. But today in the same store, another SA said those two were actually not allowed to order through phone transactions and I have to be present in store in order to make the purchase.

I remember reading people’s posts on other platforms about ordering through phone (or text) for these specific styles, and those were pretty recent posts (summer-early fall). The poster lives in an east coast city and the SA is in California.

So which version applies to current situation in US now? I don’t have a good feeling about this SA I met today, but she did felt more experienced. My SA on the contrary is pretty new but easier to approach for someone like me who hasn’t spent a lot on Chanel fashion items (yet)…

Thanks in advance for your help and input!

Which watchwinder do you use?

Following an advice from my mother, to store the Rolex she has gifted to my for my degree on a watchwinder, I found one on internet and bought it. I placed watch and winder in my sleeping room and now after several month, the winder started to make a terrible sound, so loud that i can't sleep any more. I'd like to keep the watch in my sleeping area, so I'd like to ask you if you can give me any recomendation for a silent watchwinder, which will not turn into a terrible soundmachine after a while?

Lady Dior Phone Pouch Feedback please

Hello Dior members! I was wondering if anyone has the lady Dior phone pouch and if it is worth getting.

I am after a quick bag, can be used casual and formal which carry’s my phone, card holder and some small lippie or hand sanitizer. Plus mask of course. I think the size is perfect but not sure how it will hold up. Is lamb leather high maintenance? Does it get easier scratched. I was going to get the LV felicie but this one looks more luxurious and premium. And the pearl on the chain is so dainty and chic as well. Anyone that has it and can provide feedback would be great. Thanks!

What are some fancy “Anniversary” handbags and purses?

I'm new to handbags and purses (I'm a man) but familiar with some:
Chanel
Bottega Veneta
Gucci
Louis Vuitton
Prada
Balenciaga
Christian Dior
Chloe
Bulgari
Hermes
Cartier
Yves Saint Laurent
Fendi
Goyard

Please tell me the best designer handbags and purses; as well as the most expensive; and the ostentatious “Anniversary” items.

Thx to all that respond

Would you replace a new bag if it was slightly damaged?

Hi all! Wanted to gather some thoughts and ask here, what would you do in this situation?

I recently purchased my first dream luxury bag - the Givenchy mini Antigona in the box calf leather! Unfortunately, within two weeks of receiving it (even though I was incredibly careful with it) my child accidentally got a couple drops of nail glue on the bag, which dried and damaged the leather almost instantly. Devastated, I took it to a leather repair shop and while they fixed it up the best they could, the front of the bag is no longer as smooth as it once was.

The glue was apparently sanded down so it could be removed, so the dents are still slightly visible, but the main issue is that section of the bag was recolored with black dye that's slightly darker/shinier than the rest of the leather. It's barely noticeable for the most part, but you can see it clearly under bright light at the right angle - the color and shine is different, it appears almost as if a bit of oil got rubbed onto a section of the bag.

I got the bag from a consignment store (in brand-new condition) so I can't return it and I'm not sure if Givenchy customer service would be any help. But I'm considering reselling this bag to get a new identical one. Even though the rest of the bag is in perfect condition, I know the repaired section would probably tank its resale value, so if I did sell it and buy a new one I'd be losing a lot of money. However this was really my dream bag that I planned to keep for years to come, and I'm so sad it got damaged before I ever really got to use it. I'm trying to decide if it would be worth it to resell/buy, or if I could live with the bag in its current state? Would appreciate any other thoughts/input!

Would you spend an extra $700 for the new Bottega Veneta Certificate of Craft?

Would the new lifetime Certificate of Craft that Bottega Veneta is offering be worth spending an extra $700 (or 1000
SGD) to you?
I have spent the last few weeks attempting to get a non-padded Cassette in Travertine. (Sorry for those who are sick of this story!!) I’ve unfortunately received two flawed bags from other authorised stockists of BV. (I was determined to get the bag for less than retail as I believe since the price increase last May the price is too high).
Sadly my attempts at securing it for less were not successful and now I feel really backed into a corner by the price increase that’s happening this Monday.
I’m not into the idea of waiting for a preloved, purely because where I live (Singapore) I’m unlikely to get a preloved at a significantly better price, and I’m quite keen to own and use the bag now.
So I have a choice of either keeping the bag from Vitkac I received that has a very wrinkled strap, OR giving in and spending 1000 SGD more from the boutique (which I’m trying to justify with this new lifetime warranty).
What would you do?!

Love bracelet pain

I’ve had my love bracelet for 2 years. Since I got it it has caused pain in my wrist off and on. I’ve gone to CArtier multiple times to discuss it and I can’t return / exchange it and have been assured multiple times it’s the correct size. Lately the pain in my wrist has become so bad I can’t stand to use my left hand or bend my wrist and the pain has begun shooting up to my elbow and shoulder. Within a few days of taking the bracelet off the pain subsides, but begins again when putting it back on. My husband is upset because it was a 10 year anniversary gift that he saved up for but I just can’t handle the pain any longer. My SA said she’s never heard of anyone having discomfort from theirs. Am I the only one? I’m so depressed about it.

Gold bracelet hunt: high-quality, non-luxury options

I've been looking at gold bracelets for the past 6 months to celebrate a life milestone (full disclosure, started with bags, couldn't find what I wanted, now am onto gold bracelets).

I've tried on the VCA perlée signature, which I loved, but it has a hefty price tag ($7,000 ish). The Cartier Love is also absolutely lovely and good investment, but it seems a bit too heavily "branded" to me (maybe because it's so common?) & is also super pricey (even secondhand on Fashionphile, which I look at regularly). I like both of these because they sit securely around the wrist and have small details that make them a bit more interesting.

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for similar gold bracelets: I've looked at a number of brands recommended to me by friends and jewelers: Lana, David Yurman, another Lana, Roberto Coin (perhaps looks like an imitation Cartier), and Lagos (silver/gold, not straight gold, as too pricey).

Is there anywhere else I should be looking? Where does one find a high-quality gold bracelet with a bit of character and a slightly more reasonable price?

Thanks!

Neiman Marcus Events

Hi Everyone!

Quick question from a painter for you all. I have an event with Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills November 26th where they've asked me to custom paint designs for clients complimentary with purchase. Do you have any designs that you think would be a good fit? What kind of designs are in right now? I always do things like letters and numbers and butterflies... but I'd love to know what you guys think would be cool as an option. I'll post some photos of my work so you can get a sense of the style.

Thanks!
Lauren

Pre loved or wait for new XXL flap to be released?

Just purchased an XXL airline bag preloved and trying to decide if I should just wait for Chanel to release it again. Priced preloved $6200 vs new was $6100 last time released. I thought it was a great price compared to other preloved XXL’s, but still paying same price as for new. Will I be kicking myself if it’s released this or next year and I could’ve bought one new? I also read they are hard to find when released, but I’m not certain if that’s true. It would be great to use now as a diaper/travel bag right now, but also not something I feel like I have to have right now. I do love that it’s a chevron and has the trolley pocket. Can return still. What would you do?

Marco Bicego yellow gold question

I’m considering getting 2 yellow gold lunaria pieces. I’ve noticed both in pictures online and some older pieces in store that his pieces can get black marks on them. Has anyone had this happen? And if so, will it come off with a good cleaning? These pieces are expensive and I don’t want to invest in them if they’re going to turn black over time. I’ve never had a gold piece do that so I’m wondering what causes the black marks on his pieces? I’d love to hear from folks who have had these pieces for a while and whether they’ve had any issues with these pieces essentially tarnishing (or whatever the black coloring is). Thanks!

Emerald vs Oval e ring (with pics)

We have looked at some loose stones for engagement rings recently and I just can’t decide between oval and emerald for the following reasons… (PS radiant is supposedly the middle ground but somehow I just don’t like it when worn).

1. Being loose stones, it’s hard to visualise what it really looks like beyond trying them on a prong. I’ve tried some pre-set but obviously they will be imprecise and somewhat different to what the end product will be.

2. Ovals face up larger and seem to provide more “coverage” which I like. I also like the look of them, of course. However the emerald cut is my dream cut. I fear regretting giving up the dream of an emerald cut!

3. With emerald being my ideal cut, there’s only so much a fixed budget will accommodate with my preference for a natural stone with specs within certain parameters. In my mind when I try the stone on with the prongs I can’t help but feel the stone looks much smaller than an oval and gives less coverage, making my finger seem stubbier. I fear regretting forgoing a big oval sparkly ring and thinking the emerald is too small!

In either stone my setting choice would be a 3 stone ring, and *maybe* with a bezel but only if it can look sleek and modern enough.

May I please have your kind thoughts on this?? I’m just so so torn!

Replacement bag hardware?

A few days ago, I had my Faye on my shoulder and the pin just popped out of the d-ring, and the bag fell off my shoulder. I was able to pick up the ring itself from the ground, but the pin was nowhere to be found. I bought the bag from Neiman Marcus about 2 years ago.

It looks like I need a special pin, so I contacted Chloe about buying a replacement pin. They only sell it with the ring, and it is $88! It would have been great service if they would have just sent me one. I am willing to buy a new pin or ring, but $88 is ridiculous.

Any suggestions on where I can buy replacement hardware for a more reasonable cost?

Thanks!
