Conditioning Lv canvas

I applied a car dashboard conditioner to my lv canvas and am here to report my results!
I don’t normally apply anything to my LV bags except Cadillac for the vachetta parts. However, I have an Iena tote that was left in a closet for too long and the canvas started getting slightly sticky. It’s one of those softer canvas bags that feel more tacky anyway, but I don’t remember it feeling so sticky when I first got it. So while I’m generally wary about applying things to my bags, I figured I have nothing to lose here since the canvas is already sticky.
Doing some research on plastics, apparently once it starts becoming sticky, it’s sort of an irreversible process? The plasticisers leach out of the vinyl and there is not a whole lot you can do except try to clean off some of the stickiness or remove the plastic coating entirely (obviously this is not an option for a lv bag).
I’m also 100% opposed to applying things like food oils (coconut and olive oil for example) or skincare products to my bags. These things are not designed for that and can rot threads and leave buildup and yeah, I’m never going to do that.
I did try wiping my bag with a damp cloth first and it didn’t do anything for the stickiness.
Cadillac actually says on its label that it can be used for vinyl, but I wanted something specifically formulated for vinyl like car interior detailer. So I did a lot of research on Reddit (lol) to find out what is the favorite dash and trim conditioner of people who are into car detailing, looking specifically for products that aren’t greasy or shiny or leave buildup and streaks or have silicone etc, and decided on optimum protectant plus. It’s also labeled as optimum leather protectant on smaller bottles, but is apparently the same thing.
I tried it out on my car first. It worked great. No greasy or sticky feeling, no change in color, but it did help blend in some scratches. It took out a small hand sanitizer stain on one of the seats. So, feeling more confident, I finally tested it out on a small area on the bottom of my bag and waited a couple of days. It looked fine and also no stickiness in that spot. I applied it to the rest of the canvas next, and I’m happy to report that the canvas feels like new. It’s not sticky, not greasy or shiny. It just looks like brand new canvas!
I liked this so much that I’m probably going to use this on my other old bags, especially my vintage noe that I washed!

, part of the hw on top of the turn lock is chipped and of course it bothers me soo much...
Apparently xtra is more structured (slightly) and it’s calf leather not Métis leather like cuir. It also have the adjustable strap now BUT the price has changed dramatically.
