A *I STILL can’t believe it* reveal

I’m definitely a bit of a lurker, sharing some fun bag offers here and there, but I’ve so enjoyed this forum for so many years (I think I joined back in 2009?), I feel that this one deserves its own little special post.

I should preface this by saving I’ve loved Hermes since I discovered it in college. I loved the look of the Kelly and Jypsiere and their scarves . Couldn’t afford a single thing so I just admired from afar. Bought two scarves for parents on a Europe trip after graduating, after stepping foot for the first time ever in any Hermes boutique while in Paris. I wouldn’t step foot into my (now) home boutique until years later, after I established my career and had kids! I was super lucky, the very first sales associate I ever talked with there has been my sales associate ever since. And she’s the loveliest and nicest person, and has never made me feel one bit uncomfortable since I’ve started shopping with her.

I’m hopeful many you guys can relate to this, but I always had a secret HG bag that I coveted, but had come to terms with that I would likely never be able to receive an offer for (and not to be a downer about this - just being realistic about things). I believed this so much that I never even spoke the name out loud, and figured I’d only mention purses I loved, wanted, and would be attainable to my lovely SA (who really is the nicest person, and who never would have judged even if I had told her all my outrageous wishes).

Then, I heard the news about “normal” birkin 20s possibly coming out - and about went crazy with this news and messaged my SA right away to wipe my wishlist clean and put a 20, if it were true and coming out soon, the very top of my list. I was pretty enthusiastic about this - and my SA knows I love smaller bags as I don’t carry much with me.

Then, on my scheduled visit with her to make a few purchases, she mentioned to my husband that there was something super special and on my wishlist beforehand. In my head, I was thinking that I had just updated my wishlist to JUST a birkin 20, but previously did request a Kelly pochette or mini Kelly, and that I’d pretty much never turn down a birkin 25. So, the hubby and I were thinking that I might’ve finally gotten a pochette.

When the day came, and she brought out my items, I was definitely eyeing THE box. I know you guys are good at identifying purses BY the box. That’s definitely still a work in progress for me, but I did immediately notice it was very square, and very small. So, first little bit of excitement!

When we finally get to THE box, my SA expressed quite a bit of excitement for this. She started giving me the details (anything in parenthesis will be my internal thought process throughout this)

“…..this is a birkin…..”(OMG this isn’t a pochette….no way!!!)
“in the sellier style……”(hmmm I’ve never asked for sellier, only a size 20 that I know comes in a sellier style……)
“in a size 20……” (Oh sh*t, oh sh*t, oh sh*t)
“And it’s a faubourg” (……………….)

I essentially hyperventilated and about died right then and there. Hot flashes too , and shaking

When she revealed it little by little, she left the color reveal until she could open the dust bag. It was a Snow faubourg too. And it was quite literally, my dream bag. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first two versions, and white has always been my favorite color, so this was IT for me!

Last one is next to my beton birkin (one of my first bags).

Thanks for letting me share! I don’t have many people in my life that would quite understand the overwhelming excitement about this whole experience like this group! And the patience and the surprises that the Hermes journey comes with!

Specific clutch/wristlet size

We have tickets to U2 at the Sphere and people are reporting that the venue is saying wristlets/clutches can be no bigger than 6x6x2. EVERYTHING I am finding online has dimensions at 6.25, 6.5 - does anyone have something under 6 inches? Hoping to fit my phone, purell, extra disposable contacts, in this tiny bag so hoping to be as close to 6x6x2 without going over.

Buying jewelry from your SA in a different state

If this is already being discussed please delete.
I was in NJ last month visiting family and stopped by Tiffany’s and purchased a bracelet. The SA there gave me her info and told me that I could purchase from her and she would ship it to me.
Now I am hearing rumors of a price increase for Tiffany’s in two weeks.
The sales tax in NJ is considerably lower than the sales tax in AL. If I were to contact her and make a purchase, would I be charged NJ tax or AL tax?
Curious if anyone has ever done this and what the results were, thank you!

Super fake and authentication

I have been scammed and I’m really concerned that I won’t get my money back. Bag was purchased on a reseller site, the bag itself looks flawless (suspiciously so for a bag that has been used), no indication to me that it’s fake however it’s the dustbag, care card and receipt that give it away. I have sent info to an authenticator but the more I read into these services, it sounds like they only focus on the bag itself and not the rest of the info. I really don’t believe they will identify this bag as a fake. I haven’t opened a dispute yet, I want to have as much info as possible before I do because I only get one shot. Also, I am happy to return the bag to the seller but given they are of questionable character, I worry that I will end up with nothing!

Has anyone been through this/have any advice? I have purposely not given all details because I have reason to believe that this seller is a serious distributer of fakes and I worry they could see this (I’m sure that’s not likely but I could do without them scarpering before I get money back!)

Luxury Shopping is just Too Complicated?

Do you sometimes just think that luxury shopping (experience) is too complicated?

Some people love and live shopping. I read here, how they've just bought one thing and then they're on with their next HG. Thrill of the chase etc. I absolutely heave a sigh of relief if I pay, have 'thing', and done. The prices we pay, literally thousands £€$, you would think it would be more pleasurable.

In store: You have to (know to) ring ahead for appointments, be assigned an SA, make 'friends', know which member of staff is a specialist in whichever dept, know store policies on everything better than the staff, know the stock better than the staff, know procedure with staff. Make sure they're not adding your purchase history to your sister's account (same initials). All for emptying your bank account and receiving a fake smile from a SA who thinks you're a mug/privileged B./cheap B./time-waster.

Online: Be home all day or have your precious jewellery thrown at the local dumping ground for negligent shoppers, remember to take ID collecting, ring to find what happened to parcel, remember to tick boxes not leaving with your klep-to-neighbour, panic over whether you'll believed for being sent odd-shoe sizes or damaged goods, worrying about the intricacies of returns, working out the intricacies of refund - if it ever comes.

Rather than feel shopping was never more pleasurable, I find it non-stop hassle. I've always found new shopping stressful, which is why in many ways I still like going to markets and vintage stores with cash and a carrier. The prices, expectations (promises) of luxury shopping hardly ever add-up - the only thing that makes it worth it is that (hopefully) amazing product in my hands after all is done and is finally mine.

What's your take atm?

What are some places to sell bags and SLGs?

It’s been a while and I am looking for places to help me sell off most of my bags. They have been bought and never used and a few used once or twice If even. I have a combo or contemporary and premium brands. My lifestyle needs different. I can’t go to a local shop because in my area that’s not a thing. I also don’t want to get scammed either. which sites can I sell with an umbrella of safety and not getting screwed on prices?

Natural, effortless stacks

I don’t know how to describe it, but I feel like there are stacks that look so great and effortless like the wearer has natural style. Then there are stacks that just look a little stiffer and deliberate. Despite reading this forum as my primary hobby over several years (yes I just admitted that) I feel like my VCA/Cartier stacks still look pretty deliberate. If I’m making sense to anyone here here  is there a trick to making the stack look more … (I feel like there’s a better word I’m too tired to come up with here but…) natural?

The Row Banana

Hello purseforum lovelies. I have been wanting this bag for such a long time. I love the casual vibe and it suits my style perfectly.
my favourite colour is the aubergine and I was not happy when I missed it in the sale. So I kept checking and rechecking and ended up bagging on Erin the regular and one in the mini size.
So now I must decide which to keep. I love both. The regular is the same shape as mini and all is the same except the regular has a canvas strap whilst the mini leather. Both can be shoulder or crossbody. Both fit essentials such as wallet and phone and travel card. It’s just the aesthetic which will be the deciding point. Here are my pics and I will search some celeb pics too. Any opinion welcome. TIA .

Any alternatives to the discontinued SmashBox BB Creme?

I loved the color and consistency of the Smashbox BB creme in Dark but it was discontinued. Picture here: https://img.fruugo.com/product/6/34/607061346_max.jpg

I bought a bunch of inventory from ebay but am officially running out of my stash. Tried a few alternatives to date but nothing really matched the color and consistency.

Any pointers into what products available on the market that should feel similar?

Is this a deal? Cassette bag

I came across this consigned black padded cassette bag in pretty good condition - some scratches on interior but otherwise fine. The price after some bargaining is a little over $1900 USD. I wasn’t really in the market for a cassette bag, particularly in black, but I’m sure I’d use it quite a bit, especially since it’s somewhat broken in. I usually don’t get anything unless I’m 100% but I keep thinking about it…
I did read the other thread about the cassette being dated which was a bit worrisome. Help?

Assistance Kelly 28 Beton Togo

Hi!
Although my journey recently started in February, I have fell in love with a few beautiful peices from H in which today my SA has offered me a K28 retourne in beton togo with gold hardware.

With that said, last week when I arrived at the boutique to pick up items I ordered my sa was very direct with having me tell her what colors I would like if the opportunity presented itself. When we connected a month later I provided my sa with my wishlist which consisted of a B25/K25 and a mini and I was flexible with colors. So when she asked me last week to be specific I know this day would come.

Since it isnt the size I wanted but the color and hardware, I have never seen a K28 up close. Can anyone provide their thoughts of a K28 if they own one? By the way, Im 5'7"

Any regrets purchasing 10 motif over 20 or vice versa?

Hello! I am finally (momentarily) stepping away from my Frivole collection and getting around to ticking off completing my YG MOP set and am trying to decide between YG MOP 10 and 20. I’ve got Vintage earrings and 5 motif already in YG MOP. I’ve looked through the ‘Share your 10’ and ‘Share your 20’ threads for reference. I tried on the 20 the other day and it was gorgeous of course but I’m questioning whether I would make great use of it. I did like the versatility of the length but honestly feel that for my lifestyle I would wear the 10 more frequently. But once in a while I’m sure I would love wearing the 20! For those of you who own a 10 and/or 20, I would love to know if you prefer one or the other and why. I feel the look of the 10 is neat and tidy. Yes I can wear the 20 as a 10 with motifs hanging down the back but that seems like a lot of work, haha.
Thanks in advance for your input!

P.S. I might not wear all 3 pieces together but love knowing I have that option. I would love to add a magic between the finger ring for more options to play around with!
