Please help me choose: Chanel 22 - small vs. med & GHW vs SHW

Hi everyone! I’d love your help choosing my next Chanel 22 bag.

I’m torn between the small and the medium size. I’m 5'4" (162 cm) and don’t want the bag to look huge on me—especially since I plan to use it for all-day errands around the city and possibly for travel. I usually travel with my Goyard totes, so it would be nice to have an alternative. It would also be a plus if I could fit a laptop, though it’s not a priority since I’m unsure about taking a logo-heavy bag to work.

I’m also debating hardware. Almost all of my bags have gold hardware, and I do own Chanel dad sandals with gold CCs, so the gold might match better. But the 22’s antique gold looks very yellow to me, and I’m not sure I love that. I want the bag to look casual and easy to style. On the other hand, the silver hardware looks more like matte gray in person, which feels more toned down—but I’m unsure how well it pairs with the rest of my wardrobe.

I just got the beige and navy Chanel ballet flats (beige clair), and I’m not sure whether black with silver hardware would work well with those. For those who have the black 22 with silver, do you find it easy to pair with outfits? In general, which combo do you find more versatile—black and gold or black and silver?

Would love your thoughts on:

Small vs. medium on a 5'4" frame

Antique gold vs. silver hardware on the black Chanel 22
Thanks so much in advance!

Repair question

Hi!
I just bought a cassandre WOC from 2018 and noticed the snap has a hairline crack. It’s still snapping fine but I’m worried it will eventually mess up. Has anyone had this happen before? If so did the snap fail fast? How much does it cost to repair?
Thank you!

What are some fancy patent leather bags/purses?

My new obsession is patent leather. I've gotten over sequin, leopard prints, metallic, and shearling for now.

They may not shine if there's no light, but when there is light, it's a sight to behold:

Necklace Extenders for 10 Motifs

Getting ready to take delivery on my YG 10-motif pave necklace. (Yeahhh!!!) I would love to get some recommendations for a 1 or 2 inch extender chain for a 10-motif necklace. I don’t think I want to add links to the necklace because I’d like to link it to other 10 and 20 motifs I own and I think the extra links will make the necklace look off.

I checked with VCA and they don’t make extenders.

Opinions on color for vintage Mulberry Bayswater

Hello friends, I have a vintage braided Baywater bag that I unfortunately discolored the leather surrounding the hardware on the flap. Enclosed is a picture of the bag that I have, but not the actual bag, will follow up with picture of actual bag later.

I’ve been refurbishing Handbags for five years now and have gotten pretty skilled at changing the color of a bag. Do you guys like this original bronze meets gunmetal metallic? Or with the consensus preferred to see it in a different color and if so, what? I’m thinking a really dark dark deep forest green with a slight metallic hue similar to the attatched pics. Thank You for your input, also I’ll be
reselling it after it’s finished (whether she’s in a new color or matched original color). What are your thoughts on the price point? Another idea is coloring it to a customize color and selling. I’m looking forward to your guys’s ideas. Thank you.

First Cartier Purchase

I am deciding on a birthday present and am debating between the wedding love ring and the love pendant. I have tried the love ring and think it looks great stacked with my other pieces but am scared of the scratches. I am also open to other pieces at Cartier or from a different designer. I would ideally like to spend under 2k. My style leans more feminine. Any advice would be great!

what do you refuse to splurge on?

Just a fun discussion; no shade to anyone who does splurge on these items.

I have stopped spending money on designers sunglasses for over a decade now and don't miss them. Occasionally I'll see a style that I really love, but I just can't justify the price tag and almost always can find a decent dupe. Plus I don't feel like I wasted any money if I'm over the style.

I also rarely spend money on concerts unless it's an artist/band I am a HUGE fan of. My partner and many of our friends love any type of live music but I'm super selective because even the crappy seats are so expensive.

Pochette Metis Lock Issue?

Hi everyone, I have a quick question.

Is it hard for you to close your bag? I noticed I have to press directly on the leather tab to hear the “click” and get it to close (circled in black) —pressing on the hardware itself doesn’t seem to work. I hope that makes sense...

With my older PM from 2018, I just pressed on the hardware itself and it clicked shut easily (circled in red). Has anyone else noticed this difference? Or did I get a defective one?

The sales associates told me that it was normal as they were also struggling to close the bag… I took it home because I didn't want to cause an issue but it's still bothering me.

TIA!

Trench Mini Lindy

I am in mid 50’s, 5’3 tall with burnett hair and have been gaining weight and more on chunkier size now. Not sure if I should peruse Lindy 26 or Mini Lindy as I will be heading 60’s and what would be more practical in a long run. I am afraid mini Lindy may be too small for my body frame. I have just gotten an offer with trench mini lindy ( I wanted Gris Meyer, Craie or beton color likes though). Never seen trench cor in real life and afraid it may wash out with my skin tone(?). Your honest thoughts on my dilemma please.

Red Side Trunk MM

Hello,
Looking for some advice here…
I bought recently a red leather trunk MM. When I received it, I notice it doesn’t have the Louis Vuitton print on the outside (unlike the other ones I’ve see).
Inside, the leather tag says “Louis Vuitton Seoul 29 April 2023”.
Did a search online and see there is a runway show on that day in Seoul.
Anyone one whether this is a piece that have been sold in the past from LV boutique or might it be a piece from the runway?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks!

Watches: Quartz vs Mechanical vs Automatic (quick cheat sheet)

Hello all, this is nothing new to watch lovers but I see mechanical and automatic used interchangeably as if they were the same and sorry, I just had to scratch an itch. :P

Taken straight from Google AI:

A watch movement, also known as a calibre, is the internal mechanism that powers a watch and enables it to tell time. It's the "engine" of the watch, responsible for moving the hands and powering any additional features like chronographs or calendars.
There are three main types of watch movements: mechanical, automatic, and quartz.

  • Mechanical Movements:
These rely on a mainspring, which is wound either manually (by the user) or automatically (by the movement of the wearer's wrist). They use a series of gears and springs to regulate the release of energy, driving the hands and other complications.
    • Automatic Movements:

A type of mechanical movement that utilizes a rotor (a weighted wheel) to wind the mainspring when the watch is worn. The motion of the wrist causes the rotor to rotate, which then winds the mainspring.

  • Quartz Movements:
These use a battery to power the watch, and a quartz crystal to regulate the movement. The battery sends an electrical current through the crystal, causing it to vibrate at a precise frequency, which then drives the hands and other functions.
Key Differences:

Power Source: Mechanical and automatic movements use a mainspring, while quartz movements use a battery.
Maintenance: Mechanical movements require winding, either manually or automatically, and may require occasional servicing. Quartz movements are typically more low-maintenance, as they only require battery replacements.
Accuracy: Quartz movements are generally more accurate than mechanical movements, as they rely on the precise frequency of a quartz crystal.
Price: Mechanical and automatic movements are generally more expensive than quartz movements, due to their complexity and the craftsmanship involved in their construction.

Feel free to add on anything else you find informative/helpful. Or if there's something wrong, please give an update. Thank you.

Anyone own these and love them or do you regret buying?

ordered 10 motif gold guilochee before price increase (having doubts)

Hi everyone I ordered the 10 motif gold guilochee but now wondering if it was a mistake.
Some people say it's flashy, tacky, and heavy. I'm worried it might be not for me, but I hate to cancel since it was before the price increase.
Does anyone own this ? or other 10 motifs?
I already own the paved alhambra pendant and no 5 motif bracelets, so maybe I should cancel and go with something else?
What would you choose if you did not have a 5 or 10 motif?

Would you choose a 10 motif in a stone or hammered?
A 5 motif in a certain stone, guilochee, or hammered?

Can sandals be made shorter in the front?

IMG_6677.webp

I know I need a pedicure. Just got my winter feet out of socks!! I also have one foot a half size shorter than the other. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I have a pair of Aquazurra tequila flat sandals. The SA talked me into them, said they “looked great” last year 🙄. I really hate the pointed space in front of my toes. My question is could a cobbler shorten these at the front to make these closer to the tops of my toes? Has anyone had this done? Does it look as silly as I think it does?
