Photos of wearing 2 (or more) 10 Motifs?

Hi there!
I have spent time thinking and feeling around getting 2 10 motifs versus one 20 motif. One of the things my SA suggested was wearing 2 10 motifs and I have to admit that idea has some appeal to me- but I didn’t have a chance to try them on myself while I was in a city with a boutique.

Do any of the beautiful TPF’ers who follow VCA have any photos or opinions you’d be willing to share to share?

Thank you,
Maya

Tiffany authentification service (?)

Hello, I'm very new to the forum community! I've only looked at reviews in the past, I'm making my account for the first time to ask this question:

Does Tiffany provide any authentification service ?

Context: I'm looking at a Tiffany beautiful necklace from a reseller respected website. I've never purchased Tiffany anywhere except from the boutique directly. I have a couple of pieces from the victoria and paloma picasso lines (still completely in love with them).
I went to see the necklace and try it at the reseller showroom today, it seems very legit. I trust the reseller company as they are a known and trusted brand where i'm based.
However, they only provide their own authentification card for the gold and diamond quality, reviewed and stamped by their jewelery expert.

I was wondering if I would go to my Tiffany boutique, would they be able to trace back the necklace in their system with maybe the necklace number ID and confirm it's from the brand?
has it ever happen to any of you?

The necklace comes only with the reseller authentification card. There's no Tiffany's packaging, nor box or pouch (I so love that Tiffany blue box so I wished it was available as well)... Hence my questions :)

Thank you very much for any help !

Bulgari Tubogas VS Clash de Cartier

Hey everyone,

Update…..

So I got the Serpenti with the head/tail in diamonds. I want to stack it now. I tried the Tubogas (1st choice) as seen with the Serpent (left pic), then I went to try on the Clash de Cartier in small and large size.

I’m still loving the Tubogas. The Clash did not pop out at all. Perhaps it was the lighting in Cartier or the bracelet itself, it was just underwhelming for me. It looks great on others just not on me.

Thoughts?

How do you avoid wardrobe waste?

Sometimes I look in my closet and get so upset with the waste. I don't mean waste in terms of too much stuff - I keep a very small minimal wardrobe - and I don't buy much. But I thought that if I followed some guidelines or rules about what to buy, I could avoid having things that don't end up working. For example: "Don't buy just because something is on sale unless it's something you'd be willing to buy at full price." or "Stick to basics that you can mix and match." or "Buy the highest quality you can afford."

But when I think about the things I wear and enjoy the most, they don't seem to follow any rules. Some things I've bought on impulse I end up loving and some I hate, while things I researched and pondered don't end up working anyway or they do. Some high quality things fall apart right away and some of the low-end stuff lasts forever. Some things I've bought online without trying fit great and others not, so I tell myself only buy things I can try on first. Then I find something that looks great in the store yet languishes in my closet! There seems to be no rhyme or reason to what works or not!?!

Does anyone have any tried and true guidelines they use to avoid making a purchase they regret?

20 motif guilloche/diamond pavé!

I am seriously considering buying the 20 motif vintage Alhambra in yellow gold with guilloche and alternating diamond pavé. Not an easy decision at this price...I had actually planned the 10 motif guilloche in yellow gold, but fell in love with the 5 motif guilloche alternating diamonds and am currently waiting for it.

The pavé would certainly make it less conspicuous, which I would actually like. But that would also be cancelled out with a 20 motif.
I have two 20 motif so far, which I don't wear very often. I always put a little extension on them because otherwise they are too tight for my taste (when layered). I'm afraid that the pave might twist all the time. I will have the bracelet adjusted and twisting is not so noticeable there either, but I find it a bit difficult with the necklace. Does anyone here have any experience? A necklace like this has to look flawless🙂

Help with updating wardrobe for busy single mom

Hi Everyone!

I’m a single mom to 2 young kids and also have a full-time job that allows me to work from home most days. In a nutshell, I’m looking for advice on how to update my wardrobe quickly and not too expensively.

As background, I went through a very painful divorce in 2019, then Covid hit, and I have to admit I have bought very little clothing since then.

I love jewelry and handbags, and will splurge on the occasional luxury designer purchase in those categories 1-2x per year, but I absolutely despise shopping for clothes.

I do not have the budget for luxury RTW but desperately need to update my closet with more contemporary silhouettes and styles. I have horrible luck with online shopping and end up returning most of it. The fit and quality in most midrange stores is awful, and I just don’t have the time and energy for a treasure hunt.

What would be the fastest and easiest way to update my wardrobe with a few nice pieces that doesn’t involve visiting 5 stores and trying on hundreds of items? Should I go with a personal stylist at Nordstrom or similar? Is there a store or 2 that I can concentrate my efforts in? Or decent quality brands? I get so overwhelmed in huge stores with racks upon racks of merchandise.

I have updated my denim from skinny jeans to wide leg and straight styles, but need trousers, long and short sleeved tops and blouses (casual and smart casual), casual dresses, and some shorts for the upcoming summer season.

I’d really appreciate any advice you have to share.

Chanel Medium Chic Pearls Flap bag - question

Hi, can anyone who has tried on or owned this bag tell me:

- is it really WOC capacity sized? (the largest size of the pearl flap bag, which I believe is called medium)
- is the strap really long (like the old WOCs) and hangs really low on an average height person when crossbody?

Since it's an older model, the measurements in all the preloved online listings really vary even on strap length, so any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!Screenshot 2025-05-04 at 8.25.35 PM.webp

Eek is there any way to salvage the handle on this Balenciaga Work Bag?

1.webp

Hi guys! I had asked my friend to snatch this vintage Balenciaga Work Bag at a consignment store overseas for around 500NZD (300USD), thinking all it needed was some TLC but now that I have it in my hands, I realise that the leather handles are completely worn out to the point where the inside material is exposed 💀 I did a quick search on handle restoration in this forum but have only seen posts about the leather fraying or tassel restoration.

There are not many specialised designer bag restoration places where I live and I doubt leather repair shops would have Balenciaga bag handle replacements on hand, is there anything I could do to repair it myself? Probably a long shot but I’m really sad because the overall quality of the bag is in really good condition!

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Loewe bag repair

I dropped my mini black Flamenco bag at the Loewe boutique (US) for a repair November 2024. The magnet on one side, had come out of the leather (ripped it) and attached itself to magnet on the other side. I provided an original receipt for the bag (purchased outside of the two year window) from Bergdorf Goodman. They told me that it would be reviewed and I would be contacted to proceed. I was contacted by Loewe on December 14, 2024 that they would do the repair for a small charge. I've now been in the boutique, and have contacted the store manager many times. Each time I'm told it just takes a while. Well, I called again this past Friday, and said we are going on 6 months now. They must have lost my bag. He told me that didn't happen, that it just can take 2-4 months for a repair. I told him again, I think they lost my bag as it's going on 6 months. He assured me that wasn't the case and would follow up with me Monday. What are your thoughts? Do I need to demand a replacement? What recourse to I have? I should have just taken it to my local shoe repair to begin with!

Hi LV lover,

I am struggling for a while to make a decision. I can’t seem to choose between a Pochette Metis Dune and On my side Pm Galet.

I must admit I already have a Pochette Metis in dark blue with red accents. I love love love this bag! But then 2 of the same bags ….

The on my side pm Galet seems like a bit more of a formal bag or am I mistaken there

Thank for sharing your opinion 🤗

Deposit / orders before price increase

Question anyone know the answer ? If you put a deposit on an item and it’s before the price increase do you need to pay new or old price when it arrives ? The SA said he doesn’t know but that we would need to wait to see if corporate honors the price when I deposited before the increase happened.

Anyone have this experience and what happened when you went to pick up and pay the rest ?

Please help me choose: Chanel 22 - small vs. med & GHW vs SHW

Hi everyone! I’d love your help choosing my next Chanel 22 bag.

I’m torn between the small and the medium size. I’m 5'4" (162 cm) and don’t want the bag to look huge on me—especially since I plan to use it for all-day errands around the city and possibly for travel. I usually travel with my Goyard totes, so it would be nice to have an alternative. It would also be a plus if I could fit a laptop, though it’s not a priority since I’m unsure about taking a logo-heavy bag to work.

I’m also debating hardware. Almost all of my bags have gold hardware, and I do own Chanel dad sandals with gold CCs, so the gold might match better. But the 22’s antique gold looks very yellow to me, and I’m not sure I love that. I want the bag to look casual and easy to style. On the other hand, the silver hardware looks more like matte gray in person, which feels more toned down—but I’m unsure how well it pairs with the rest of my wardrobe.

I just got the beige and navy Chanel ballet flats (beige clair), and I’m not sure whether black with silver hardware would work well with those. For those who have the black 22 with silver, do you find it easy to pair with outfits? In general, which combo do you find more versatile—black and gold or black and silver?

Would love your thoughts on:

Small vs. medium on a 5'4" frame

Antique gold vs. silver hardware on the black Chanel 22
Thanks so much in advance!
