LV Boulogne - Zipper problems - Current Model

Hi all,
My LV Boulogne is 11 months old, and seems to be my first bag that’s going to need to go in for repair. Today one of the zippers just got completely stuck at one end (thankfully I can use the other side to zip up to close/open it) - I had noticed lately that they probably didn’t feel as smooth but also nothing that alarmed me.

I’m based in Aus. I’m planning on heading in store in the next few days.

Would like to know if:
A) anyone has had this happen to them or heard of it happening with the new model Boulogne?
B) the chance of a zipper being fixed in Aus or if it will be sent overseas and what an average timeline to wait would be?

I’m also now worried that this might be a thing with the shape/style and how the zipper ends aren’t sewn to anything (just the metal zip end) so it effectively leaves them to be pulled in their own direction over time - which is how I think this has happened…

Ugh! First world problems hey…

Also! If anyone has any other suggestions I’m super open to hearing them. I’ve been trying to find the perfect everyday black bag for months now. Something without a chain strap (so it can be worn with strapless tops too), something that can be dressed up or down, has a an overall youthful vibe, easy to open/close, and can hold my phone, wallet, keys, and lip gloss at the very least.

Should I sell this?

Help me decide… I am interested in a piece of jewelry and thinking of selling this silver caviar reissue mini to help fund. It won’t fetch me enough to actually buy the jewelry piece I’m looking at.
Pros of this piece: it is caviar (super durable), I wear a lot of silver/white gold and cool toned clothing. Good for travel and day to night looks.
Cons: I have two other mini reissues (so black and red). Don’t carry this bag more than maybe 10 times a year.

Rounded Font on Tags

Omg..this gorgeous.
@muchstuff, can you look at this one? I've seen this rounded font on the tag over and over again on otherwise convincing bags. Even the back of the tag looks legit. Do you know anything about these? Last time I asked you about a bag with this font you confirmed fake, but I don't know if it was for reasons other than the rounded font.

If Jewelry Designers = Handbag Designers

Just for fun....I was thinking about handbag and jewelry brand rough equivalents. Some of my thoughts:

Graff = Hermes - very exclusive, iykyk, prides itself on the utmost handmade quality, hard to get

Cartier = Chanel - the OG Parisian chic, many who first wade into luxury have as their HG, "average layperson" thinks of Chanel classic and Love bangle as the ultimate in luxury

Tiffany = Louis Vuitton - always coming up with new designs and interesting collaborations, Tiffany silver is the "gateway" for collectors like LV canvas, very ubiquitous and most duped

Bluenile = Mansur Gavriel - the first major online disruptor selling basic, unbranded but quality classic pieces

Mejuri = Polene - mostly online, design-forward quality and affordable pieces, the ones that many DTC companies are trying to copy

Costco = Longchamp - Costco diamonds are the Longchamp Pliage...practical, dependable quality at a good price, your workhorse piece

What do you think? What are others...like "who" is Bulgari (Fendi)? Or Chopard (Ferragamo)? Maria Tash = Off White or Jacquemus?

Videpoches Bag

Hi all, I just purchased the Mens Videpoches bag and didn't find a lot of info online about it so I thought it might be helpful to post some pictures in case anyone else was interested. I had asked my SA for a belt bag for travel, which he didn't have, but suggested the Men's Videpoches bag. The one I got is togo leather in the color mushroom with vert fizz / vert comics striped wooly strap. The strap is adjustable but not detachable. The opening has a little flap that folds over and snaps closed on the ends. The website says the size is L 27 x H 14 x D 4cm. He told me it also comes in gris etain, caban, noir, and indigo. The strap comes in solid and striped colors depending on the bag. It was $3400 USD.

I'm showing the bag next to my vert fizz k25 for color comparison. At first my SA was telling me the bag was vert fizz (the description said mushroom/vf/vc), and the mushroom kind of does have a slight greenish undertone to it, but next to my VF bag, it's obviously not green. I'm also showing it next to my K25 and mini jypsiere for size comparison. As far as how much it holds, it is in between the 2 bags. It also holds more than my TPM. I can easily fit a iphone pro Max, card holder, bastia, mints, tissues, lip gloss, sunglasses with a little more room on top.

I'm leaving in a couple days for a trip and plan on taking this little bag, so will post updates on how it held up. So far, I like it. I like the colorway and I like that the strap is adjustable so I can wear it long like a cross body or short like a chest or back sling. I also added my hippo charm just for fun since it has matching colors. :smile:Would love to see how others who have this bag style it!

Which bracelet to complete my stack?

I’m currently wearing a RG small Love & RG small JUC on my right wrist. I wear the RG diamond small JUC with my watch on my left wrist. My watch is either an SS/RG datejust, my beloved SS turquoise OP Rolex or black/SS sporty Hublot.

I want to purchase a 5 motif Alhambra bracelet to finish off the stack on my right for our 10 wedding anniversary!

I plan on wearing it daily but will take it off at night/showering. I assumed it would be onyx as I wear lots of dark grey, black & white as my neutral. Accent colours are khaki, sage, turquoise & coral. I’m an “English rose” with similar colouring to Kate Middleton.

Looking online, my husband likes onyx, malachite & tiger eye.

My thoughts:
Onyx - perfect neutral, can wear without worrying but I wonder if it’ll show dirt & fingerprints easily.

Malachite - green is my favourite colour & it’s beyond beautiful. I understand it is delicate & I don’t mind taking it off at night/when I’m showering. I wonder if it’ll go with all of my clothes or if it’ll clash (in a bad way). If needed, I understand I can replace a motif.

Tiger eye - very beautiful & quite eye catching. However, I don’t wear brown - ever - & I think it may clash with the greys I wear.

What do you all think? I’ll remove the black cord bracelet in my pic.

Sorry for the essay! This is a huge purchase for us!

Bags worth 90000 euros were stolen from Hermès warehouse

"Milan, 10 August 2023 – Maxi theft in the warehouse of the Hermès store in via Montenapoleone in Milan: disappear 4 bags – including one Birkin Himalayas – for a value of 90 thousand euros. No signs of forced entry were found on the doors. The bags were in areas accessible only to personnel and they were stolen and replaced with others, always Hermès, but of lower value. The discovery happened last August 7, when during a check it emerged that the precious bags were missing and the complaint was filed by those responsible at the police station in via Moscova who are now investigating.

The Birkin is a bag made by Hermès artisans. A Birkin is forever because it is ennobled over time and acquires more and more value with each passing day.

The Hermes maison says that “this object among the most desired of the last few decades” was born in the air during a Paris-London flight. On board, the recently deceased English actress Jane Birkin is seated next to Jean-Louis Dumas, president of Hermès (1978-2006). The two start chatting and the actress complains about not being able to find a bag that fits his needs. “A born creative gifted with an infallible intuition – says the maison – Dumas immediately designs a capacious bag with a rectangular shape, soft and spacious, with a smooth profile and saddle stitching”. Just as the Hermes Kelly bag was inspired by Grace Kellythe Birkin therefore takes its name from Jane who with Serge Gainsbourg was certainly one of the most famous and transgressive couples of the jet set of the sixties.

Sold for dizzying figures, to have the famous it-bag, it is said, it is not enough to have the disposable income, some models are sold for the price of an apartment, but it helps lots of patience. You have to wait: the long waiting list because sales are sipped. A marketing strategy that makes this object even more exclusive, and therefore precious."

Designer Shoes - Are they worth it?

Hey everyone,

It's my 30th coming up and I've been saving for a bag from Chanel - however (price increases :yucky:) I am now still a little ways off...

As it's going to be a big birthday I kept thinking what can I get myself instead and have been tossing up between Chanel Ballerinas or Hermes Orans but then a little nagging voice thinks am I sabotaging my bag fund?

Now I think designer shoes are beautiful and would love a pair and if I had the bag already I would probably just get some but I have never actually had a pair of designer shoes only purchased SLG and bags previously.

What is everyones opinion here?

Am I wasting my money buying shoes - I am curious how long will they hold up? I am a minimalist so really only wear 2 different pairs of shoes on rotation so they would be getting used frequently.

Am I better off sticking to SLG and bags or will designer shoes bring me joy and last?

Thank you in advance for your responses

Designer Sneakers without Laces!

I love sneakers but hate laces, and want to get some nice designer white ones that are easy on/off. So far I’ve found these, from the top down - Axel Arigato, Isabel Marant, Jil Sander, Eytys. Anyone have experience with these brands or styles to share? Or other suggestions? They must be comfortable. I haven’t looked at luxury designers because I’d prefer to keep the price under 4-figures (!), but for the right pair….

Chanel - Dublin Ireland

Hi! My friend will be going to Dublin, Ireland in a few months and can help me pick up something and I think there’s a Chanel store there. Will she be able to get the VAT refund? We are both from the US. I want to get the classic woc in pink but unsure if there will be availability once she’s there. Do you think it’s worth it to try to get from there or should I just order with me SA here in the US. Im going to ask her to help pick up a few small items from other stores (dior, vca), too, so any tips/info is much appreciated!

Do you think this can be successfully dyed? (Professionally)

Hello everyone,

I’ve spoken to a leather/fur shop that will send the bag to their experts. I’ve been told the handles have fabric parts(not sure if that’s the case tbh) and there’s nothing they can do, because it’s not leather.
My question is, is it too risky to get it dyed to black? (They said they can replace the fabric parts with leather)
Should I just stick to the original color? (You can see that in the inside) could they fail in repainting it to the original color?

I love this bag, it’s my most used bag ever, but don’t know much about the details.

Thanks in advance!

Vintage vs pure Alhambra pendant opinions

Interested in hearing thoughts about these two pendants. I like both. My van cleef pieces so far are a sweet Alhambra wg pave bracelet and a vintage Alhambra white gold Mop pendant. I like white gold and diamonds and would like something I can leave on all the time as opposed to the mother of pearl, which I love too. I like the modern look of the pure, but they don’t seem too popular… thanks!

eBay authentication screwed me over!

Hello! I have a long history of selling luxury bags that I either fell out of love for or just changed my mind after realizing it doesn’t suit my needs. I always take a loss even thought sometimes they’re in brand new condition because I just never reached for them.
I posted a Sac De Jour Souple on eBay at an amazing price and the “Authenticator” deemed it not as described and began to list a bunch of defects THAT DO NOT EXIST!!!!! They tried saying the interior was “discolored” but the suede interior is a lighter color than the exterior!!! That’s how the bag was made! They tried saying that there was discoloration BIT THERE DEFINITELY IS NOT! I’m completely dumbfounded! I lost the sale due to their negligence.
Has anyone else ever experienced this????

Is it a defect or normal (Oxford shoes)

Hello everyone. I bought a pair of Oxford shoes in Paris and upon returning home (I live in the US) I unboxed and inspected the shoes one more time before taking off hardware film. I noticed there are tiny cracks that I didn’t notice those at the stores. So now I waited that those might crack even more and peel off with time. Since I haven’t worn them I was thinking maybe I can exchange them at store here in the US for same model or other spouse or store credit. Has anyone ever tried to return or exchange something bought in Paris at their local store in different country? Also would you keep the shoes if you saw something like these? These cracks are not visible if you look from above, only if you look straight at them. I just concern that it will be cracking more and eventually start to peel offIMG_2863.jpegIMG_2866.jpegIMG_2867.jpeg
