This is THE most expensive costume jewellery purchase I’ve ever made so I’m jittery! I scored this necklace (I know it’s a couple seasons ago so I have no idea how it was still there but yay for me) just the other day and I’ve been trying to find information on the forum.

Here’s a stock picture -



1) how delicate are the pearls/motifs? Can I wear them with clothes that have beads/embroidery?

2) how do I clean my necklace / how often do I need to clean it?

3) I read on here that the Chanel jewellery cases might melt on to the pearls (!!!) is it enough to line the jewellery case with tissue paper so the pearls only touch the tissue or should I keep them in a different jewellery case? Can attach a picture of the case if it helps.

4) if it scratches is there anything I can do to fix the necklace (like some special polishing cloth or something), or the only way around is to take it to Chanel to be serviced? If it isn’t on my purchase history (my friend had a credit so we put it on hers) is it a problem? Or in general if I ever buy preloved jewellery so I don’t know who the original buyer was, can I take it to Chanel to be serviced?

5) can colour from my clothes bleed on to the pearls, is there anything I can do to avoid that?

I had one of the first Falabellas with heavy chain and was so tired of the weight I rarely used it
Now I know (as I've re-seen this in a Stella Mc Cartney mall shop) they lightened the chain, now it's aluminium if I'm not wrong and seems soooo much better in terms of overall bag weight!
My question is: if I find some good pre-loved ones online, how to find out if this is the old chunky stainless like chain or the new one?
Is there maybe a number on the inner tag I should look for, or a specific lining color etc..thanks for helping!!!

Debating between my next bracelet - I already have the juc with diamonds and am wondering if the serpenti with Demi pave diamonds would be too similar. I considered the plain serpenti, but found it way too shiny (I did like it in wg though). I also have the clash so I’m afraid it may be similar in texture. I have the serpenti ring and I love it and wanted some diversity in bracelets. In context - I have the VCA RG hammered vintage bracelet. Or - any suggestions on the next piece? The plain panthere also caught my eye.

Hello everyone, I know this is the Cartier thread so I hope I’m allowed to post a VCA piece here. Anyway, I’m torn between getting a VCA 5 motif carnelian bracelet or the love wedding band in pave! If anybody has opinions or has one please let me know what you think and show pictures please. Thank you! 😁

I have never shopped at VCA before, but am now contemplating purchasing a few pieces. I am mainly interested in the white gold vintage alhambra pieces, but the WG perlee bracelet and ring are also tempting. For reference, I am located in Northern California. Thank you!

Do you believe there is a max number of places on your body to wear Alhambra jewelry pieces at the same time before it starts looking like “too much”?

Or is there a particular combination of places that when worn at the same time look like “too much”?

If so, how many places on your body at the same time is your max? And in your opinion, what combos appear to be “too much” where it stops looking good to you?

Just wanted to check in and see if anyone had a similar experience or any advice.

I purchased a medium lady Djoy for myself for Mothers Day back in early May. I don’t currently have a SA with Dior, the one I had previously just have left the company. I purchased the bag online.
I used the bag a handful of times and then took it out for an event in June, all of a sudden the D-ring fell off and now I can only use it handheld, I cannot use the straps.
I considered bringing it into the Dior boutique, however, it is quite a trek for me to make, I do not have one close by. I also know their e commerce is separate from their boutiques. I decided to submit a ticket to their after care customer service.

We went back and forth around 3 weeks ago, the last update I got from them was they had submitted the pics to their aftersales experts for an assessment and would get back to me. I know last week was a US holiday week but it’s crazy to me that it’s taking this long to make an assessment on a bag I had only had for a month and is clearly defective. It makes me more annoyed knowing even if it’s submitted for repair I’m out of a bag for at least a few weeks. The least they could do is get back to me quickly. Has anyone else had experience with this type of thing? I don’t know if it’s worth trying my luck at the boutique at this point. So disappointing with how much money this bag cost. 😞

I have auburn hair (not natural but my skintone is that of a redhead - pale with freckels)
I wear mostly black, blue or purple/plum. I can wear teal but not grass green. No yellow. No rust. I do better with contrast to my hair - not matching it.

I can wear dark grey - almost black. Looking online at a light to medium grey top. Not sure it that will wash me out. anyone here with skin like mine? can you wear grey?

The quality, The design, and especially The exotic designs are to die for. I never loved a collection like this before. For me it was The gateway into too much spending 🤣 I still get angry over myself because I could have ordered a divine purple-ombre chain bag in crocodile but back then I was too scared to buy anything else but black in case of reselling.

Hi ladies. So I have (or had) a lovely louise gm in python which I bought from vestiare collective around 2016.
I never used it, just had it in my collection room until 2024 when I noticed the glazing was sticky, bleeding and impossible to even touch.

I called louis vuitton in Stockholm and they told me I didnt need a receipt. I put her in a plastic bag because she bleeded through the dust bag.

It was sent to paris and I wasnt quoted any price for repair, but one week ago they quoted me 1000 usd. I didnt buy the bag from the boutique, I have the cites and they told me it could maybe be free then because glazing is a known problem.


Now they say the bag is too old. My dilemma is i just want the bag back and send it to someone who doesnt charge me 1000 usd for new glazing...I dont know. I didnt see the bag for almost 2 months now and customer service keeps on being rude and arrogant.

I had no idea 2014 was a bad year for the glue, I only got this information when I started to google why the edges got sticky. I really dont want to pay 1000 under for glazing, I just dont understand that. Maybe im all wrong now, just in shock because I never thought this bag would melt on its own. Some people (even sa) says its my fault because I didnt repair it earlier, but how could I know when no one told me? Bag was fine for almost 10 years. And again, I never used it. Its in pristine condition.

Hi! Long time member just getting back into luxury shopping and I have my eye on a specific card case wallet. I’m decently open to color, but have a few deal breakers. I went to my most local store, a NM boutique. I felt like I was being pretty womaned because I’m not yet an established customer, despite showing up put together (but casual) with nice accessories.

Will I have to be after this wallet for a bit and look while traveling? I honestly like it for the function as much as the style and it’s not like it’s a UHG item.

Should I wait and go to a full boutique? So weird, my NM purchase history is… extensive (but no Chanel fashion).

My new to me bag arrived damp. It's a Rebecca Minkoff Regan satchel in Nubuck.

The seller taped one layer of thin plastic bag around it, that's it. Somehow, it got damp. I first noticed it on the dust bag around the bag, and now the back of the bag feels very damp.

I've got one day to inspect the bag. The price was very good for what I got, as long as the damp doesn't ruin the nubuck.

What should I do?

Also, if the cause was condensation, how do we avoid this kind of thing? And is that the likely cause? What's the best way to pack a bag, when the seller is trying to keep weight and size down? This, I must admit, is the worst case I've seen. The same type of bag was somehow conpressed into a (northern Europen) mailbox sized packag before, and this one was deemed too big for my mailbox. I'm glad I went and got it right away, so no mildew got the chance to settle in. It does smell a little, but not exactly mildew.

What do we all think of Cartier bags? I just got this Cartier pantere bag second hand and it’s brand new but not sure how I’m feeling about it. Is it giving old vintage vibes? I know it’s vintage of course. But is it old looking?? If that makes sense?

Especially since the yen is weak right now or is it not really much different from purchasing in the US? Any stores with better customer experience, more variety, interesting things to see, etc.

After my sweet SA who I never met in person but spoke with on the phone for my online orders left Cartier over a year ago I haven't purchased anything. I adored her and she provided a magical experience every time I ordered and sent me card and gifts in between purchases. She was so thoughtful. I never did click with anyone since and I decided to take a break from buying jewelry in general. I recently traveled out of town to a Cartier boutique and while I plan to make some purchases in person when I return soon, I didn't click with the SA assigned to me for my appointment. Is there a polite way for me to request someone else when I make a purchase? Or maybe I just got very lucky with my previous SA and need to lower my hopes? Edited to add: It's actually not that we didn't click so much as that it felt mostly transactional and not "magical" if that makes sense.

I am debating on which size Chanel Coco crush ring to get for middle or index finger. I am having trouble deciding between the wedding band model or the small model. I was wondering if anyone owns one or both and your opinions and any sizing advice, thank you.
I would like to wear it as an everyday ring, I find the wedding band model might be more comfortable but the quilted pattern is not as visible and it seems so small while I have read the small model is hollow underneath and water can get trapped when washing your hands. Maybe the small model is more forgiving in the warmer months since it is hollow on the inside. Thank you for any advice and opinions.

Say someone wanted to get you a gift from VCA with a budget of ~2.5k or a budget of ~5k (a little over is fine, but in the ballpark); what would you want?

My personal choices:
- the sweet alhambra WMOP pendant or studs for the ~2.5k budget
- the sweet alhambra pave ring for the ~5k budget (its a bit under, but I don't like anything else. Not an Alhambra bracelets fan).
