How accurate are the AI virtual makeup apps?

Do AI apps give you a realistic makeup "try on", or is it better just to go in? It seems to be convenient, but I order the makeup online is it going to look the same? I would think that in some cases, you would want to feel the texture. Also, I am not sure how accurate the apps are as far as color. Are there any apps you would recommend, or do you suggest staying away from all of these AI apps. Thanks.

Betty Halbreich, Director of Solutions at Bergdorf Goodman, passes at age 96

Betty Halbreich, the director of Solutions at Bergdorf Goodman, has passed at the age of 96.
Betty was extraordinary, she had taste & style that was renowned.
She was also the author of Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's as well as Secrets of a Fashion Therapist
as well as a new book coming out in Spring of 2025, No One Has Seen It All..
She was a fixture at BG & for those who knew her over the many years of her career, she
was truly "special".
Her life was full of various challenges but she rose to the occasion in spite of them all & had
a fabulous career dressing women & had fun doing so & loved every moment of it.
A wonderful tribute to Betty from the lipstick man, Edward Bess made a limited edition
of lipstick simply called "Betty" in her signature RED.. I'm so glad that I have that lipstick
Heaven will be better dressed now that she has arrived on her fashion wings.
RIP, Betty...

Wedding bands as stacking rings?

Calling to all of you who are into stacking rings - do you ever wear rings sold as wedding bands as part of your stack? I was thinking some plain bands (with & without diamonds) thrown into the mix might be useful in varying up my looks. Today I’m wearing a 14k yellow gold Pandora bubble ring on my left middle finger by itself, but I was just thinking it would look pretty as part of a stack. On my right hand I like to wear my Cartier trinity ring on my ring finger. But I also have a rose gold diamond wedding band that my ex-husband got me as a replacement for my original white gold wedding band that I unfortunately lost. I don’t wear it anymore because I’m divorced, but it sure would look pretty as part of a stack. Anyone care to help me style these pieces?

Suggestions on my next purchase, guilloche pendant or zodiac?

Which should I get?

  • Guilloche magic pendant yellow gold

  • Leo zodiac yellow gold

Hi all,

I was considering a pendant to wear with my everyday necklaces which is a diamond graduated tennis necklace and a Roberto coin diamond arrow pendant. I would love to shake it up with a gold pendant. I was thinking of the guilloche pendant, the magic pendant but unsure of the actual size in person or the zodiac- I’m a Leo and that was the pendant that made me come back to vca, I don’t have any pieces at this time but I would say I care more about what works well in my collection versus getting something as a starter piece. I have consistently always loved the all gold alhambras and the guilloche is gorgeous and something I would also love.

Thanks!!

Reactions: A bottle of Red

24B Red 🍒

Hi!

sometimes there are separate threads on particular colours - I am surprised to see none on this current season RED as well as the dark beige (which looks like the classic beige and the one they did in 2018….) But let’s focus on the red on this one 😃

Shall we gather some eye candy? What did you see, what did you get, what do you wish they did in this colour?

How does it compare to other shades?

To me it’s a unicorn, different in every lighting.

SEEN:I fell in love with the colour when I was shown an o-case (didn’t get it) I know they do seasonal WOCS in 24B red

BOUGHT: I hunted down a zippy coin purse In the same shade

WANT: If they did a classic mini in this or a classic woc I would be head over heels! Or ballet flats 🍒😃

Comparison: to me, it’s a cherry red - not as bright as a red I got in 2022, but very rich in colour and leaning towards blue…

Perfect to go with the GHW.

If anyone is interested in sharing - chime in! If you think this belongs elsewhere, please move the thread.

Advice on chevre for a Kelly 28

Hi,
My next wishlist item is a Kelly 28 sellier. I love the leathers of Hermes as much as I love the bags themselves. I already own bags in box, Togo, Clemence and Epsom.
I am desperate to extend my collection of beautiful leathers. Chevre is next on my list.

What is everyone’s experience with Chevre? I know Epsom would be a more practical choice 😬
I’ve read chevre is popular in smaller bags, but how does it fair in a sellier in the 28 size?
How durable is it? I’m a mother of 4. I only use my box leather Kelly on trips without the kids. Is chevre kid friendly? 😂

Any photos would be massively appreciated.
Colour wise, I’ve opted for greys, black and Vert Madame.

Thanks in advance 🥰

On the RM wagon again

Hi all. So it has been literal YEARS since I've purchased an RM bag. When I finally could afford one her quality wasn't near what it was at the start. I collected and then consigned all my old RMs as I moved into my "smaller bag era).
In the last two years I fell upon the Balenciaga day and the giant 21 hobo and it reignited my love for a slouchy hobo. And foe all the other bgs I purchased, I couldn't find a great green one...until...

Earlier in the week I caved I scored a nikki for $23 (she does need tlc) and I squealed when I opened up the package. There is literally nothing like an old school Minkoff bag. That leather is magic.
Now debating if I need a Cognac colored one.
One is never enough right? More is magic 😉

First Hermes QB offer - Question

Hi everyone! I am new to shopping at Hermes and just received, and purchased, my first quota bag! I’m very appreciative and excited about it. I just don’t have a good understanding yet of how rare or common this QB is. I’d like to have a rough idea so that I know if my SA really went above and beyond, so I can show the appropriate level of appreciation! Can more experienced Hermes shoppers please let me know what you think? The offer was for a Constance 18 noir bag in box leather and gold hardware. Is this particularly hard to get or a common offer? Either way, I love it and am very pleased. Thank you!

Inventory: Stores vs. Online

I’m super excited to get to visit a VCA store this weekend for the first time. I’ve only bought two pieces prior, both online. To those who have done both: do you find the brick and mortar store to have pretty much the same inventory as online? I’m trying to manage my own expectations because almost everything on my wishlist is not available online. I’m located in the USA if that helps. :)
