Modern, flimsy but chic Bottega - torn on parachute but I loved green padded cassette

I own 4 Bottega and well. My padded green is amazing. My go to. Is there any place I can find another one with such a pop of colour? Like violet one?
I have two Sardines which are weirdly shaped, are too pale. I knew buying this. Arco in nice violet, deep one but.. I want a bag. Was scared of Adiamo - the yellow looked terrible on me and washed me out - the words of SA. I like parachute but feel like I feel too "mid" about this. Is it possible to get padded cassette in optimistic colour (I know the iconic colour is the best)? Jodie seems impractical. If not - could you recommend me a bag for.. a young person. I only see a very light blue almost arctic. (I gave my mum Sardine which is telling.) If it's helpful I can post pics when I'm wearing 3 at once at shop :)

Is anyone else a fashion lover concerned about environmental impacts of the industry?

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this. Full transparency, I would not consider myself to be a die hard environmentalist, but I do have concerns over how innocent people of the world are impacted by others (including my own) consumerism. I have always known that the fashion industry produces waste but I had no idea the extent in which it has escalated over the last few years due to the way consumption patterns have changed (largely thanks to the internet).

The list of concerns is never ending -- dyes making factory workers sick, landfills overflowing, contaminated water supply, deadstock fabric...

I know the finger gets pointed much at fast fashion (and rightfully so), but I can't help but wonder what mass consumption does for the environment regardless if it is from She-In or a designer brand.

I am going to make more of an effort to shop less and buy from vintage stores more. I have been watching commentators on it and many have said social media has glorified and normalized overconsumption to the point that it is seen as aspirational, only worsening the problem.

Is anyone else concerned? Anyone taking ay steps to be more sustainable? I know sustainable brands have become more popular but the more research I do I find many of them are green washing/using sustainability as a marketing tactic instead of a genuine intention.

Gifting advice (bags & pouches)

Hi all, i'm here in search of recommendations for someone in the family that i'd like to get a small purse/pouch for
I usually like to pin down individual tastes when buying for others, but i've stepped away from shopping recently and was looking for ideas with contemporary brands (Tory Burch maybe, Kate Spade?)

Her style is somewhat like Miranda Kerr's - sleek, prim, polished and generally feminine and color palette of neutrals.

I'm open to names of brands, specific items and e-tailers!

And of course if you also want to ask about gifting for others please do hop in this thread.

Thanks!

A very special SO story

I would like to share the incredible experience my wife and I had with a special order. This February, we were invited to participate in a surprise SO event, which was beyond amazing.

As soon as we arrived at the store, we were presented with the new seasonal chart and asked to choose a bag from the available options. Although the color choices were a bit disappointing, we knew we wanted a bag in either Chevre or Swift leather.

My wife had been dreaming of owning a Kelly 25 in Swift leather for so long, but they were always hard to come by at our store. We were also tempted by the idea of ordering a Mini Kelly or a Kelly Pochette, especially since our SA recommended the Mini Kelly due to its rarity.

After much deliberation, I suggested we go for a bag she would use more often rather than one sitting in the closet. We finally decided on a K25 in Swift leather and had to choose between a verso or multico option. Since my wife already had a multico Birkin, we decided the verso option, selecting Vert Criquet with Nata interior and Nata stitching.

Fast forward to September, we received an invitation to pick up our SO from the boutique. Little did we know, we were in for an unbelievable surprise.Upon arriving at the store, our SM informed us that we had been selected to participate in an event honoring long-term clients, where we would receive our SO order personally from the craftsperson who made the bag.

We had the opportunity to have a meaningful conversation with the craftsperson about the bag and other topics, and then they surprised us with a stitching lesson. We were asked to finish the stitching on a leather photo frame that was specially made for us. It was an incredible experience to witness firsthand how the stitches are sewn.

To top it all off, we had a group picture taken with a Polaroid camera, and the picture was placed in the leather frame that we had made. The entire experience was so unique and unforgettable.

We were kindly asked not to take or share any pictures, but I couldn't resist sharing the beauty of our stunning new bag.

My first Birkin/Kelly if I get lucky

I'll be blunt. I'm clueless. In my country we don't have Hermes. However I'm going to be living where you can get quota bag if you're lucky for quite some time. (I'd consider used bag but I'd definitely prefer new). However, I have no clue about those bags, the leather. Years ago I thought they look granny, later on "not worth it" but now I changed my mind. I got bored with Chanel. First of all, I'm torn about Birkin vs Kelly. I know the difference and I could find purpose for both. The bag can't be too small. I try to find my sweet spot. My phone and wallet (or card holder) must fit in but preferably wallet. I don't know what leather I should choose. Here I'm lost the most. Durability isn't the most important admittedly for me. I won't be selling. Looks and comfort of use are more important. Also the color - I know I won't have (if any) too many to choose from but any recommendations for all 4 seasons bag?
Simply - please help me out, there are so many articles I know but my head would explode. I'd be grateful if you can help me out. The perfect first bag?
Edit: It might be important. I'm tall (around/more than 5"9, most of the time pale and on the skinny side). So with some mini bags I look.. bad. Like it'd be ok bag for a doll. However the oversized bag trend wasn't for me either.

Help with preloved Chanel decision.

Only own one small, black, classic flap in caviar/gold and looking to add a previously owned brown bag.

Considering one of these two from real real but could really use a little push in the right direction. Open to all thoughts and opinions about style, condition, website, value, etc.

Pretty please

What's Going On With Fashionphile?

Does anyone know what's going on with FP at NM Palo Alto location? I met a friend for lunch at NM Cafe a few days ago and FP is still closed! When I asked one of the sales clerks at beauty counter, all she said is "its permanently closed". I used to sell a good portion of my items at this store. Long time seller following them from Maiden Lane (2 locations) to opening in NM SF. I went through my email looking for an announcement/update. I see a big change after Sarah Davis left. The actress Emma Roberts is the new face to FP. So, I was assuming that things are looking up.

Just received an update for 10% off but no mention of stores. Now I'm wondering if SF NM location is still open?

The last update on yelp FASHIONPHILE is temporarily closed. Scheduled to reopen on August 27, 2025.

Well, as of 10/2/2024 the store has not re-opened.

I often think Carolyn Bessette late 90s minimalist, or brands that are chic but minimalist like Totême, although where is my feminity.

I enjoy playfulness in my designs and even kawaii japanese things but I am also a minimalist at heart. And...always yearned for the class of past century details in interiors / furniture, 1930s jewelry and structured handbags, luxury...that was the reason why I joined this forum.

His turn around is slow and I mean very slow but I’ve been super happy with my past commissions from him!

He’s also run some neat collabs with McLaren and IWC in the past!

What do you all think? Perhaps we will see a return to a more streamlined, minimal aesthetic? (Personally hoping).

I’d like to hear your thoughts.
