Removing smoke smell from Chanel vintage bag

Hello,

I searched here but the info I found was older and wanted to see if there was anything new.

I purchased a vintage Chanel flap from a Japanese seller. It cannot be returned and unfortunately there is a very strong smoke smell.
I have done my best to let it air out and put some baking powder inside (in a mesh bag) but it's still very strong.

I read on one site that a vinegar and water solution could be used to lessen the smell, but I'm nervous about using it on the leather interior.

Has anyone found any solutions that work?

Thank you!

Last month I asked about VCA cufflinks, which I bought as a birthday gift to myself. However looking at the VCA HP I realised I like Alhambra's line on women more than I want them on me.

I'm looking into these Cartier cufflinks. These are much cheaper than the VCA. I could buy all three at once, but that's not the point. I want to wear the best one.

I own a Hermès H cufflinks BTW (I have this design on a belt).

Thx to all that respond 😀

Need help with a very vintage Dior - Common? or Diamond in the Rough?

I inherited this purse, and was surprised when i opened it and it was a Dior! Its in good condition for its age.

I've scoured the internet, and I'm having no luck figuring out the supposed date of it, if its actually real croc skin, and if its a common vintage that is a fun collector piece that's $500-600, or if its a really hard find worth a lot more.

It looks like a neat part of Dior history, just wish I knew more about it. Any help from the community would be appreciated. Hopefully someone knows about this historical stuff since I've had little luck finding out about up until now.

Chanel hardware screws question - fake or authentic?

Hello everyone,

I have the chance to buy a Chanel square mini flap from two different sellers. One is a reseller and the other is an independent seller. Both are offering 13-series Chanel square mini flaps. They look almost identical from the outside, but there is a difference in the hardware screws. Is it possible for bags made in the same year to have different screws?

The first bag, offered by the reseller, has flat screws (with the number 1 in the picture). I own two Chanel bags, and both also feature flat screws. The second bag, from the independent seller, has raised screws. The independent seller mentioned that they had the bag authenticated by a reputable authentication service.

Could anyone advise if there are any potential red flags regarding the hardware/screws on either of these bags?

Thank you :flowers:

Gucci Blondie Small Shoulder Bag (previously Disco Soho) Owners

Hello Gucci Lovers!

I have a question for all the Blondie owners and how you’re finding your Blondie bag (previously Disco Soho).

Are you still enjoying it? Would you recommend it or get something else now if given the chance?

I’m thinking abt this bag as an everyday bag, maybe also for travelling and wondering abt the wear and tear and and any pros and cons for the bag.

Is it comfy to wear on the shoulder? And how is the leather and tassel holding up? Do you find that it’s comfy to use?

I’m searched on YouTube and not many reviews on it, so hoping anyone that owns the bag can provide me with some insights.

Thanks so much!

Ladies, do you ever wear men's cologne?

Just curious if any ladies here wear men's cologne? I'm not at all into fruity floral fragrances and they do not match my personality so I have been mostly fragrance-free except for my teen years in the 1980s when I wore Opium and "unisex" CK One! Lately I've started wearing men's cologne that to me can be "unisex." That got me thinking as to why we're still assigning scents to gender? I don't feel that it makes me less "feminine" or "womanly" by wearing fragrances with woodsy/spicy/citrusy notes.

Thoughts??

Mini Voyou - Is it pebbled or tumbled calf? Or are both available?

I have been looking at the Voyou mini and came across a couple good deals (Farfetch brand new but the description says pebbled leather, while the Givenchy website says tumbled calf) are there two versions? The pic on Farfetch also looks pebbled. Unless it's the lighting. I prefer the shinier tumbled look on Givenchy website but not paying 1000 more for the same bag. Does farfetch just have the description wrong? Or is there really both pebbled and tumbled (more grained / flat textured) available?

Jetalla Aneiu Love — Natalia 21 Horizontal Bag —

I just received this bag today.

I absolutely love it.

My new bespoke 21 Natalya Bag from Jetalla Aneiu. She's studied with Peter Nitz; and their craftsmanship is comparable. This bag fills the Mini Kelly hole in my bag wardrobe. It's metallic green chevre with sky blue interior. I gave up on store bought Hermes bags years ago. I'm not spending $50-$60K at Hermes to earn the opportunity to spend another $12K on a bag. And I'm not spending $20-$35K to buy a MK at resale. But I wanted a small bag to go to dinner, out shopping, or travel. I wanted a slightly bigger bag than the MK, because I wanted to fit a real wallet in it. She also personalized it on the back pocket with my initials.

To me this bag takes all the negatives of a MK, and tweaks the design so that the bag works far better — and is still so stinking cute.
  • You can get the color combination of your choice — it's bespoke
  • It's fully hand made and hand stitched
  • Easy access with the snap closure
  • Fits wallet, keys, sunnies, phone, and lipstick
  • Little pocket in the back
  • Adjustable, cross body strap
  • No jumping through hoops to buy
  • Cost / Value
I think I will have fun with this bag.

Louis Vuitton Capucines GM or Celine Mini Belt Bag for Work

Hey! I'm looking to get a luxury yet practical bag for work, one that would fit my MacBook Air. Ideally, I'd like to have some pockets for organization or a zipper partition in the middle. I don't want a standard tote bag, instead something more structured. Only looking for a black bag with a chic understated look!

I've fallen in love with the new Louis Vuitton Capucines GM Souple and the old Celine Mini Belt Bag. Both different price tiers but I really want to make a decision based on aesthetics and functionality. I thought the Capucines GM was a tad bit too heavy but it has the middle zipper partition and just stunning high quality leather. The mini belt bag, on the contrary, has a nice outter zipper pocket on the backside and is a very classic design too. Which one would last longer, be more durable with work travel, look classy and timeless?

I'm super confused and would love some feedback. Also open to other brands and models but I'm not into monogram or heavy logo looks.

Hoping to fit at least a MacBook Air, wallet, sunglasses, journal, passport, a cosmetic pouch, hairbrush, couple of bits and bobs.

Thanks!!!

Goyard Handles Cracking within 6 Months

I started using my white Goyard Artois PM bag during summer as my everyday bag. The bag was not well used at all since I am not out and about all day long. I just noticed that all 4 handles have this cracking. Is this normal?

If it’s not normal wear and tear from use, then my next question - I purchased it in Paris and I’m living in the US, is it worth trying to have the handles replaced at a US based store?

My First Bulova?

Hello all!

I hope this is the right place to ask...getting into nicer watches as it is a passion of my husband's. I love Bulova and am looking at vintage models, since he asked which one I want for my birthday. Advice??

For reference, I almost exclusively carry Prada purses; my clothing taste is all over the place. I have a medium build, light olive complexion and thin wrists.

First Chanel bag mini reissue!

Hi all! After wanting a mini reissue for a while, I purchased this beautiful mini reissue! It’s from 2019 but unused. I purchased it from Madison Avenue Couture and it came with the original tag (UPC?) and an authentication certificate from Zeko. I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but should I get it authenticated as well? If yes, who would you recommend? Thanks in advance!!

Please post your pave Alhambra pieces!

I’m really trying to gauge how they look in all of the different metals and pieces (yellow, white rose / pendants, bracelets earrings). I’ve been scouring TPF and even YT, IG, etc. but I’m not seeing too much pave, so… calling all pave Alhambra owners and diamond lovers! Please show off your pretty pieces here! 💎

Your favorite color non neutral

I've "decided" Blue is my colour and even almost all year round. I enjoy Lime but I can see myself with heavy coat, snow and holiday-like Lime. Barbiecore is done, I'd feel strange with pink tones but they can be cute. What are yours? I hope I'm not interrupting. I decided on dealing with what I love and colour is important at the end. Thinking about colors gave me new energy.
