Not sure I've ever seen one IRL, but in the pics it looks like a beautiful, classic YSL bag. Good luck.

Yes, I will agree the bag is a beauty and a definite add to any collection. That is why I need some advice before I make this ultimate purchase!

I don't have this bag... but I have both newer and older YSL's and the leather is very durable. I have other bags from that collection, the leather is the same. They are still in great condition.

I think a lot of it will be in how you take care of it. I've seen some that are a few years old where the leather pieces have curled up a little along the edges and that looks a little ragged but I've also seen others that look like they're brand new even when a few years old. I think because you have individual pieces of leather that aren't binded down all the way, you just want to treat it a little more gently than other bags to avoid creasing, curling, etc.

I dont have this bag, but I must say I really want one...they are so gorgeous. I have a similar one, but I dont know what it's called. I call it the mermaid bag. It has small leather "scales". I totally adore it. The only con with mine is that some of the lower scales are slightly curled. I dont know if that would happen to the S.T. because the ruffles are bigger. At anyrate I think you should go for it!

I didnt know what I had was the St Tropez bag.. But its in a diff color though.

Anyway, i love it cause its great for night outs and when im wearing corporate outfits and dresses.

Mine is actually a hand me down, but it still looks great IMO.
the curls on the leather depends on how you store it.

(Bump)

I've just fallen for the St Tropez too! Can anyone point to a thread with more pics, or could owners possibly be persuaded to post more?

Also, I checked the YSL site and it looks like there's only one size, the small at 11"x11" - does anyone know if it is made - or ever was made - in a large size?

Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks alexi_gastel for the pic!!!! Seeing it on you I think I'm going to buy it My main concern is if the leather would curl up but I guess your right it would be how I store the bag and how often I use the bag as well. I really want the St.Tropez in Large but as for now I only can find the smaller version on the website and I have it found one in the boutiques...

It's like a ruffle dress.......so pretty. It's 3-dimension texture perfectly fits this FW 08 season.
