Default YSL Rive Gauche in chocolate leather
Hi there,

This is my first posting here so not sure if it's the right place to ask so please correct me if i've made a boo boo.

Just wanted to ask - Is a Rive Gauche in chocolate a steal for $1,100?

I'm assuming that's the large on sale? That sounds about like what they were marked down to at the YLS boutiques this last sale. So, IMO, if it's new (and authentic--duh), that's a good price. I know that Bgaholic bought a chocolate one on sale recently--it was a medium and a little less, I think. Hopefully she'll see your thread and be able to give you a more certain answer.

Hi Chubbywubby, M! Yes. That is the price for the large Rive Gauche. You can buy it on line too. I bought the medium chocolate for $999. I am loving it more and more every day! I have to tighten my belt now, but being a handbag fiend, I have my eyes on Bottega Veneta or perhaps a deerskin Prada in the future, say around holiday time, if I can conjur up some $. Enjoy the bag it is strong, durable, classy and very roomy inside. I really love mine. I had reservations at first because of scares of water stains but have gotten caught in the rain on numerous occasions and thankfully, no problems! It will be a great purchase. I personally go after classic style bags that tend to stay seasonless and forever in style (unless I want something trendy, then it has to be only a couple of hundred dollars) and IMO I feel this is one of those "ageless" timeless pieces! Good luck!

Dear Bgaholic.

Thanks for the reassurance. I share your philosophy - if i'm gonna spend this amt of $$$, it better be a classic i.e. something that will work season after season. :)

i bought it online and the status still says processed. am crossing my finger and hoping that no boo-boos crop up. *fingers crossed*

:)

not sure why but it's never smooth sailing for me when i purchase stuff online.

I emailed CS to check the status as YSL's site has been down for a couple of days. And the reply i got was quote:

"We are sold out on YSL.COM and are trying to source the item from our Yves Saint Laurent stores. This will cause a delay in shipment. We apologize. If for any reason we are unable to source this item you will be notified immediately. You will receive an automatic email containing tracking information at time of shipment. Thank you."

Doesn't really give me an idea whether i'm gonna get the bag. Anyone has experience with this situation?

... the wait is killing me!!!

seems like I heard of this happening with shoes. . .and they could never scare up the right size. Hopefully it won't with the bag--there are fewer variables than there are with shoes!

I have the chocolate RG--it's a great bag. You'll love it
