Default YSL prices in euros

Hi!

I have just arrived home from YSL boutique and prices are very very high compared to prices in dolars.

I wanted to buy a mini downtown. There where lots of colors, black red,gold,silver...but prices were 1000 euros = 1565 dolars and muses 1300 euros like 2056 dolars

I finally bought an y-mail patent cluth 295 euros =465 dolars thats ok and a very cute y-mail mini mirror. I'll go back next week for an y-mail coin purse as I didn't have more money.

I really wanted to buy a large chocolate muse but i prefer waiting to buy it on BlueFly because for the price off one Muse in the boutique i can buy 2 on bluefly.

Why are prices so high in Europe?

Yeah, but isn't YSL a french company with their stuff manufactured in France or somewhere else in Europe? That should make prices lower as it is the case with so many other luxury brands, i.e., BV, LV just to name a couple.
I also just looked into the price differences b/w US and Europe and don't really get it.
Anyone can explain?
Really want a chocolate medium Downtown but may wait until I'm back in the States again cause they are that much cheaper there.

I think for European, the price tags are pretty much the same. (at most 3-5% more compared to a few years back) Since US dollar is very weak, these prices are relatively much much higher for all of us who earn $. Hope it makes sense :)

I visited Paris on 2000. LV bags were much much cheaper than US. But when you crossed the channel to UK, it was 15% -20% more. Sorry, not YSL fan back then. Don't you have your heart set on any BV, LV or other French brands. It's a good time to graps one. ^^

I agree the prices are notably more expensive here in Paris compared to the US. If I'm not mistaken, the Muse and Downtown cost 1295 euros each here. My mom bought her bags here only because we aren't going to the US soon but then if she had a choice she would've bought them in the US instead.

I'm thinking about all the new items for the next season and season afterward. If dollar's still weak, the new slots would have higher price tags for sure since they will be imported from Europe.
