Default YSL Easy bag - a classic?
I am new to YSL and was wondering if you girls think that the Easy bag is a classic YSL bag worth investing in (something along the lines of the iconic Muse and Downtown) or would you rather plonk your money down for a Muse?

I don't know if the Easy will rise to "classic" level or not, but I have a small black pebbled Easy and I love it. Looks good, easy to use, nicely made...makes it a classic in my book.

I think it will. It is such a wonderful bag. It is a great satchel but also very slouchy like a hobo, it's like the best of both worlds. The reason I think it could become a classic is because it is so simple, chic and casual all at the same time. I am also new to YSL but the two bags I have are a black Muse and a black easy, I really love them both equally, but I think the Easy is better for day to day stuff. The Muse is more structured and doesn't always work with every outfit. It is more of a nicer looking bag that I will wear when I am dressed up a bit. The easy bag I can throw on with any outfit and it always looks great.

I think the easy bag is the shy stepsister of the family. it's fantastically practically and chic, because you can change it from a puffy rectangular bag to a flat tote style by opening the buttons on the side (how cool is that!). and when it's in a beautifully bright patent like a blue or red, it's so eye catching...so bottom line, it may not be as glamorous and as high profile as the other ysl bags, it certainly is a classic imo.

I have never cared for it but the more I look at it and see others carrying it, I slowly grew to like it more and more and now I really want one. For me, that is one of the characteristics of a classic bag. Understated yet you like it more and more...now I love it, I would like pebbled leather too.

I was mulling over it too... I like it as an everyday bag that you can dress up or down. Definitely worth it if you work out cost per wear basis and something you'll never get tired of.

Can someone tell me what sizes it comes in though and roughly how much they are? Not many places have it here (Australia) and it seems more expensive than US/Europe but I'm not sure if I'm comparing the same size of bag! Is there anywhere that sells it online?

I see them on ebay often, but then, you would need to authenticate it here...often there are great deals

there is a thread here in YSL refernce library, and second post by Cosmo is about sizes:

post pics of YSL EASY bags here

I like the patent easy colors from this season more than previous regular leather ones.

I completely agree, I think the Easy will be a classic because of its simplicity.

I think it will be a YSL classic, if it isn't already, because of the uncomplicated style. I also like how they issue new models of this bag with very understated variations in either leather, colour, Y detail. Each season it looks fresh and new without complicating or losing the very simple original design. I guess that's why they call it the EASY, it is indeed very easy to wear, use and incorporate into one's lifestyle.

I think it will totally be a classic. The design is simple and elegant -- not too flashy. Had one in my hands about six months ago, but foolishly put it down again after seeing something else. Haven't been able to stop thinking about it ever since.
