I was strongly considering this bag, I love the look of it in the ad photos, but I just looked through the celeb thread and it looks much more slouchy and soft than I anticipated. So bummed! I need structure in my life, so I guess this one isn't for me after all... :-(

Hmm when I went to see it at Bergdorf's yesterday, it didn't look slouchy at all! I think you should go to the store and put your stuff in one of them to see if it slouches...maybe the celebs were carrying a lot? haha I generally don't carry that much so I think it'd be fine for me! I wouldn't have called it slouchy looking at all.

Anyway I love this bag and it's next on my wishlist! I want to get one to use for work, just in basic black. I love that it's leather, and has gold-tone hardware, and is simple but sophisticated and more subtle than some designer bags!

Good to know jesscat, thanks. I do carry a lot... but perhaps I won't cross this off my list just yet. I would love to see more modeling photos on this thread!

I absolutely ADORE this bag (esp. in the fun colors like blue or red), but I agree with you that there seems to be a lot of slouchiness to the large size. It looks like it's one of those bags that kind of loses it's bottom panel shape after a while, KWIM?

However, I think the medium style (which is still pretty big) tends to keep its shape more. i think Hayden's bag in the celeb thread is a medium and it's a lot less slouchy than all the pics of the larges. I wish there was more of a price difference b/t the two though!! The medium is $1895 and the large is $1995, ugh! If the medium has less leather, I wish it could be a little more than $100 cheaper!

I wish there were more tPFs with this bag so we could get some good modeling pics and reviews of this bag. I'm going to NYC in April and this is definitely on my "list" for that trip (I like to buy bigger purchases in person rather than online!). But that's still so far away!!

Well, I admit I have been obsessed with this bag since August 2011. I have agonized over what color to buy and I want some suggestions. I did order a red one from Nordstrom but had some funny color defects (and quite frankly it looked like a store display), so I will be ordering directly from a YSL boutique or...MatchesFashion. Here are my narrowed down colors and I would love some suggestions. I am a lawyer, and I think it would be a fashionable, but practical bag for work and fun. But, I am still only 28 so I would like a little color in my life. My common sense tells me that any brightly colored version will have some discoloration issues...but I can't help but drool!

Vote for army green(which is close to black from the photo) or black, I am not a black bag girl, but IRL I like chyc in black, maybe because of the vintage feel on the "Y", i think it also looks nice in tan IRL, but not brown.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Chic and elegant! So I was at the Burberry store yesterday at Caesars in Las Vegas and I was buying a turnlock shoulder bag that went on sale. When I handed my credit card to the SA, I saw a girl coming in carrying a Cabas Chyc in brick red color and medium size. She was wearing a long skirt, a top and a denim jacket. I recognized the bag right away! I was like OH MY! That's the one I want! So the SA came back to me saying that my card was declined for security reasons coz I made a big purchase the day before. So I was like THANK GOD! I had a smile on my face! LOL I said to her "okay! I'll be back!" LOL So I asked the girl about the cons of the bag, she said it tends to get heavy. She allowed me to carry it for few seconds LOL. It was GOOOOORGEOOUUUS! That brick red was soooooooooooooooo delicious! I didn't see that particular color at the YSL boutique at Crystals (Aria Hotel). I saw on google image that the most famous color of the cabas chyc among celebrities is the dark brown/taupe?

I purchased the large belle de jour clutch in black patent and a key chain :) from YSl and I paid zero taxes coz we don't have YSL in MI. They had to ship it though and I'm still waiting for my babies to arrive home safe and sound!

I came back from vegas last night. i went to all these designer handbag boutiques and I ONLY fell in love with the Cabas Chyc for some reason. It's so elegant!

Girls get the medium! The large one looks like luggage bag and it's not as structured and feminine as the medium one in my opinion

If i am not mistaken, Marcus online should have the brick red color, I would have bought it if I had not got a orange Celine mini recently..

Yeah! It shows that they have it (they call it the Opium color) but when u select the bag, it gives u different color options and not the opium! It sucks!

I still like the Chyc bag, but I do agree that the medium is better. The large is simply too overwhelming for me (only 5'2"). It looks like I'm taking carry-on luggage.

I would say the leather is still great quality. I'd say it's smoother than the leather on my downtown and muse, but seems to hold up well. The only thing holding me back on making a purchase is the sheer size, and I just have too many big bags already.

while I don't have the chyc, I've been admiring it at the store for quite a while :)

the leather seems quite nice... sturdy but soft, if you know what I mean. YSL is owned by Gucci Group (which is owned by PPR, a big fashion conglomerate that owns other fashion houses like balenciaga & bottega veneta)

Bubble, get the cabas chyc in medium size! It's a great size for me I'm 5'4"
